《World Integration》Chapter 24: The Incompetent Younger Brother

Samir 3rd Pov
"I'll show her that I'm not incompetent and useless." Samir Sahid said so with a strong conviction, brimming with a tinged of frustration within his eyes.
Samir Sahid then proceeded to pick up the hunting rifle that he placed atop his bed mattress.
He bought the cheapest but good quality hunting rifle that he find on the System Store application on his phone. The hunting rifle also comes with an additional addon of a telescope, attached to the top of the hunting rifle, thereby improving the accuracy of the shouter.
There is a box of unused and untouched gun ammunitions for the newly bought hunting rifle hanging on the side of his bed.
'I may not be as strong and capable as my older sister, her {Psychomancer} class seems to be simply overpowered when compared to my actual {Mechanic} class.' Samir Sahid thought.
He then thought to himself, 'At the very least, I know how to use a gun. I can get a head start by practicing on how to use a hunting rifle upon a wild monster.'
Anyone can use a gun, as all you have to do is aim the gun at the target and then pull the trigger. And that's it.
But it takes an experienced and professional hunter in order to shoot and kill a wild deer withinside a forest in one shot, without wasting a single bullet.
Samir Sahid then proceeded to sighs in disappointment and duspleasure. His gaze then changes direction, lingering upon something that is being held within his hands.
And within his hands is a pile of books, subjects that he had onced studied before, but was later abandoned after he finishes highschool.
Samir Sahid then thought to himself, 'I've never expected to do Engineering BTEC subject again after I've finished highschool. And also mathematics & theoretical physics.'
Mathematics is essential to the {Mechanic} class, as you would have to do intense mathematical calculation and software programming to make machines, softwares, and making electronic circuit board.
'I've bought these books and instructional manuals on how to get introduce into mechanical engineering.' Samir Sahid thought.
Afterwards, he then proceeded to open up one of the books that he bought from the system store.
The book that he is currently reading is 'An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering part 1', and it only cost him around 27 system points.
And after reading a couple of pages out of the book, his knowledge over the subject of mechanical engineering has risen.
Ding!
Samir Sahid then immediately notices a loud sound and mechanical beep ringing inside of his head. As a blue screen panel then appears in front of him, thereby catching him by surprised.
(!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Mechanical Engineering Knowledge Lv.1} has been acquired!
Samir Sahid had managed to obtained a new skill after reading a couple of pages from the 'An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering part 1' book.
The skill {Basic Mechanical Engineering Knowledge} is a lot different to the prerequisite skill {Basic Mechanic Knowledge} in which all {Mechanic} class obtained upon awakening.
The skill {Basic Mechanic Knowledge} encompasses the entirety of the player's individual knowledge upon the subject of what a mechanic does.
Whilst, mechanical engineering is an engineering branch that combines engineering physics and mathematics principles with materials science to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems.
It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery.
'Oh, a new skill.' Samir Sahid thought.
At the same time, that the first blue screen panel and system notification pops up. Another soon follows.

(!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Mechanic Knowledge Lv.1} has levelled up and become {Basic Mechanic Knowledge Lv.2}!
'Oh, my skill levelled up and that was a pleasant surprise.' Samir Sahid thought, as his lips then curls up into a slight smile.
Samir Sahid then thought to himself, 'I didn't know that by simply reading a book that I gain literally new skills, then that means I have to study a lot if I want to grind skill proficiency in order to level up my {Basic Mechanic Knowledge}{Basic Mechanical Engineering}{Basic Mathematics}{Basic Math Calculations} skills. And so on...'
'Well, what a drag...' Samir Sahid thought so to himself, before sighing dejectively inside.
Samir Sahid then thought to himself, 'At the very least, it's just a menial task like reading. It does not require much skill or experiences in a certain category beside being able to read and write properly.'
'Unlike the other guys who unfortunately have the luck of acquiring a physical and strenuously laborious class professions, such as the {Warrior} class. You need to constantly hone and train your body, otherwise your sword skill will become rusty.' Samir Sahid thought.
Afterwards, Samir Sahid then continues to read the 'An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering part 1' book in order to increased the skill proficiency and skill levels of his knowledge based skills.
As Samir Sahid was preoccupied with studying in order to further improve himself. His older sister Aisha Sahid just coincidentally passed by his bedroom door.
And through the slight opened gaps of Samir Sahid's bedroom door. She could easily peek into Samir Sahid's bedroom.
'I wondered what my idiotic younger brother is doing. He is unusually quiet today, which is quite unusual. Usually, he makes a lot of loud noise and a ruckus whilst he plays his video games.' Samir Sahid's older sister Aisha Sahid thought to herself.
Having grown curiously over the matter, she then slowly peek into her brother's room through the slight opened gap in the door.
And seeing that Samir Sahid was quietly sitting atop on his bed mattress, whilst reading a book was oddly strange enough, as he was not the type of person that would enjoy reading.
Even as when he was still a teenager, Samir Sahid was not even keen into graphic novels, comics, nor manga like the other kids do. As he was only interested in watching either movies, video games, or television.
Any sort of activities that does not involved with reading a book, or otherwise studying.
And that is why his grade is so low when compared to his other peers.
And because he failed to get a passing mark and grade in mathematics during the final year of highschool, which is a minimum of a C. All students under the age of 18 must get a GCSE in maths before they can move on to higher education.
So that's why he has to do an extra course of maths in sixth form college until he successfully got his maths GCSE.
'He is reading a book, now that is a great surprise.' Aisha Sahid thought so to herself.
What greatly shocked Aisha Sahid so strongly when she saw the front cover of the book that Samir Sahid is currently reading.
'An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering part 1...' Aisha Sahid had read the title of the book that Samir Sahid is currently reading out loud inside of her head.
And then realisation immediately struct her in the head, as she instinctively thought. 'He is studying and reading a book of his own free will. What has gotten into him. Is he still the same lazy younger that I onced know, or was he simply replaced with someone that looks similar to my younger brother.'

So after having coming to terms with herself, Aisha Sahid then slowly accepted the reality that she saw before her.
'The world as we know it has completely changed. And the old society structure that we build and structured around on, after having maintain it for so long. No longer matters...' Aisha Sahid thought so, trying to gauge a bigger.
And then she continued her inner monologue, 'People are slowly changing, as they are quickly adapting to the new changes in rules. Similar to those escaped convicts who unfortunately broke out from prison, on the news.'
Aisha Sahid then quietly left, from in front of her brother's room. Without causing much noise that may distract her younger brother's concentration and studying.
As she then went to her bedroom, right next door to her younger brother's room.
An hour or two later, after he finished reading the contents of 'An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering part 1' book, Samir Sahid could instinctively feel himself having become a lot more smarter.
His knowledge surroundings the subject of mechanical engineering has greatly improved, as well as being able to recall some things off of from the book much clearer, on the top of his head.
Ding!
Samir Sahid then heard a familiar sound of the system notification; the mechanical beeping noise ringing inside of his head.
(!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Mechanic Knowledge Lv.21} has levelled up and become {Basic Mechanic Knowledge Lv.22}! (!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Mechanical Engineering Knowledge Lv.14} has levelled up and become {Basic Mechanical Engineering Knowledge Lv.15}! (!) System Notification Through reading [An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering part 1] book! You have learned knowledge skill {Basic Thermodynamic Theory Lv.1}{Basic Hydraulic Theory Lv.1}{Basic Mechanical Theory Lv.1}! (!) System Notification Through reading [An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering part 1] book! Your Wisdom attribute stats has increased by 0.3 stats points! (!) System Notification Through reading [An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering part 1] book! Your Intelligence attribute stats has increased by 0.1 stats points!
'Wow! My stats attributes have risen slightly after just reading one book, and I've gained three new skills as well.' Samir Sahid thought, after reading the contents of the recent few new blue screen panel popup system notifications.
Not many people would have noticed this, but books or pieces of literature that contains a certain level of knowledge that helps makes the user actively think can increase your wisdom or intelligence stats.
Similar to how physical sports and exercise activities can help train your body and increase your physical stats. Books and activities that involves the user in thinking straight ahead and utilise their brains a lot, can help increase your mental attribute stats.
Samir Sahid then checks the current time on his phone and its already half pass one.
'Half pass one.' He thought.
It was then that Samir Sahid had felt the hunger slowly unravelled from withinside his stomach, and his stomach was rumbling loudly for him to hear.
Samir Sahid then thought to himself, 'Time really flew by very quickly when your mind is preoccupied with something.'
'I am really hungry, but I want to try out this hunting rifle gun first hand before I head downstairs.' Samir Sahid thought.
He then proceeded to pick up the hunting rifle that is placed next to him, beside him on the bed mattress.
'So this is how you actually load the cartridge of a hunting rifle, huh.' Samir Sahid thought, as he examined the hunting rifle he had within his hand.
Samir Sahid then flips the bolt handle switch of the hunting rifle, which then opens up the bolt of the hunting rifle. A movable metal block that seals a cartridge into the chamber of the hunting rifle.
Afterwards, Samir Sahid then opens up the box that contains gun ammunitions for the hunting rifle.
He picked up a single bullet cartridge from the gun ammunition box, and then places the single bullet cartridge into the bolt part of the hunting rifle.
Click!
Samir Sahid then flicks the bolt handle, thereby locking the bolt handle in place, which seals the single bullet cartridge that he placed into the hunting rifle's gun chamber in place. Ready for firing.
'And now I need a target to test my newly bought hunting rifle on.' He thought.
Without much further thought, Samir Sahid then curiously turns his head around and looked outside his bedroom window.
It was then that a drove of wild stone claw hares had passed by on the streets and pavements, entering in his line of sight.
The wild stone claw hares resembles ordinary rabbits, hares to be exact. Exact that the claws upon their paws are three to four inches long, and are capable of tearing through through flesh and cloth fabric, like a pair of scissors.
The surface and texture of the stone claw hares' claws resembles black granite stone, thereby giving it the name of stone claw hare.
"Bingo!" Samir Sahid spoke in a rather sarcastic tone.
And after having found a target to test his newly bought hunting rifle on. Samir Sahid then slowly walks towards his bedroom window, whilst carrying the hunting rifle that is loaded with a single bullet cartridge within his hand.
In order to remove the obstruction in his way, between himself and the target.
Samir Sahid then opens his bedroom window up, and proceeded to point the loaded hunting rifle out underneath the opened area.
'I need to take my glasses off if I want to be able to look through the telescope of the hunting rifle.' Samir Sahid thought so to himself.
He then proceeded to take his prescription glasses off and places them to the side on the window sill.
His field of vision then started to become a lot more blurry, as he thought to himself. 'I can see shit without my glasses. Thank god, the telescopic piece of hunting rifle is adjustable beforehand. And that is the reason why I bought this hunting rifle over the others, because of its adjustable telescopic piece.'
Samir Sahid then looks through the eyepiece of the telescope that is attached to his hunting rifle, whilst adjusting the degree of zooming of the objective lens of the telescope, until it reaches a desirable level.
A minute later, after Samir Sahid has done adjusting the telescopic piece, fine tuning it to fit himself.
He then aims the hunting rifle over towards one of the wild stone claw hares, as the cross telescopic mark then lines up with his vision.
Samir Sahid then slowly controls his breathing. Not letting it least bit affect his control and handling of the hunting rifle.
With his finger hovering over the trigger handle of the hunting rifle, as Samir Sahid then steadies his aim. He is patiently waiting for the wild stone claw hare to be distracted and unfocused, so that he may take the shot.
And fortunately for him, the wild stone claw hare is currently eating the deceased carcass of another monster, with its other members of its own drove.
'Now...' Samir Sahid loudly thought, moving his lips unconsciously, but no words ever came out from his mouth.
He then pulls the trigger handle of the hunting rifle within his hand, as the hammer withinside the hunting rifle struct the backside of the bullet cartridge, thereby igniting the gun powder contents within the bullet cartridge.
There was a loud explosion, producing a gunshot, as smoke then leaves the other end of the hunting rifle.
The brass bullet is then shot out of hunting rifle's gun chamber and gun barrel. Flying across the air at extreme speeds, invisible to the naked eye.
The brass bullet then struct the targeted wild stone claw hare straight in the head region, and blowing bits and pieces of its brain out, thereby killing it almost immediately.
Ding!
Samir Sahid then heard a familiar sound of the system notification, a mechanical beeping noise then resounded inside of his head, which then immediately confirms his kill.
(!) System Notification You have killed a Lv.4 {Wild} Stone Claw Hare with a hunting rifle! 247 experience points has thereby been awarded for the killing blow! (!) System Notification Enough experience points has been gathered! Your main class profession {Mechanic Lv.1} has levelled up and become {Mechanic Lv.2}! All attribute stats has been increased due to levelling up growth! Plus 3 Unallocated stats points! (!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Gun Mastery Lv.1} has been acquired! (!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill {Basic Shooting Lv.1} has been acquired!
'Well, sweet! I've managed to obtained two new skills. At the same time, I've also levelled up to level two as well.' Samir Sahid thought so to himself.
But, what he didn't expect that, after the wild stone claw hare that he shot and killed with the newly bought hunting rifle. Usually, the other rabbits or hares would run away and try to escape from the predator.
Contrary to his expectations, the wild stone claw hares within the same drove began to rapidlt devour the carcass of its fallen brethren.
"What the..." Samir Sahid said, showcasing a clear sign of disgust, at the same time, enjoyment by it all.
He then thought to himself, 'What did I actually expect. These things are not simply beasts and animals but rather full grown monsters.'
A smile then started to form on Samir Sahid's face, just before exploding into a full grown laughter, whilst he steadily witnessed the drove of wild stone claw hares devouring one another.
It was at this moment in time that Aisha Sahid had rushed and then barged into her little brother's room, thereby startling Samir Sahid. After having heard a loud gunshot noise emanating from Samir Sahid's room, just right next door to her.
"Are you okay, Samir? I've heard a loud gunshot noise coming from this side of the room." Aisha Sahid shouted in a panic, but after seeing the hunting rifle that is being held within his hands. Everything started to click together, and the whole picture started to clear up.
"You're the one that has been causing the loud ruckus by firing gun shots, aren't you?" Aisha Sahid asked, whilst pointing her fingers at Samir Sahid.
"There's no need to state the obvious." Samir Sahid said so, lightly shrugging his shoulders.
Aisha Sahid then retaliated, "Does mother know about this, that you are using a gun?"
"Stop being so pessimistic, sister. It's like I'm trying to kill someone. And it's best to get some hand on experience at how to properly utilise a gun for when the dire times will soon eventually surfaced." Samir Sahid then responded back, stating obvious truths.
