《World Integration》Chapter 15: Forging a Weapon

After finishing his meal, Albert Lee then places the empty dirty pasta box in the kitchen sink, as he filled the empty plastic box with cold water in order to slowly dissolve the sticky pasta bolognese sauce that to the sides of the empty plastic box.
So that it will be much easier to wash away the dirt and grime from the pasta bolognese sauce in the washing, or so that was taught by his mother.
With his hunger sated, for now, Albert Lee then thought to himself. 'I wonder what I should do now. Lazying around and watching Youtube videos for the rest of the hight, like I usually do in my daily routine.'
'Or simply read a manga, possibly a light novel or web novel even. Or maybe watch an anime just to pass the time.' He thought, suggesting alternative ways to pass the time.
He then thought so to himself, 'I can just continue to work out, exercise, and train my body up to face the upcoming disaster, but that would be too boring.'
His eyes then quickly scour through the living room part of the house, and immediately landing upon the numerous pieces of junk metal and the steel table frame that is left lying seamlessly around on the living room floor.
A thought suddenly crossed his mind, 'Or I can simply try blacksmith forging out, making a useable steel sword and weapon out of the recyclable metals.'
Creating a steel sword is easy with an already processed metal, but the quality of the blade will solely depend on the user's experience and blacksmith expertise.
What Albert Lee had in mind was a workable steel sword that could be used to slash and impale his enemies.
He does not care for the quality of the blade or its grade of sharpness. So long as it can cut down his foe then it is a perfectly good sword.
Albert Lee then proceeded to go and get the materials and equipment that he needs in order to craft a sword; any hammer would do as he got one from his father's toolbox, a steel metal saw, and recycled metal from the washing pole.
He then grabs the metal washing pole with his left hand, whilst holding onto a hammer on his right.
'It's good that the metal washing pole is hollow inside, as it would make it a lot easier to flatten the metal washing pole.' He thought so to himself.

He then thought, 'With the length of the metal washing pole, not exceeding more than 3 meters. I could easily forge two steel swords or two short steel swords and dagger perhaps.'
With the metal washing pole placed on the wooden floor, and his left hand firmly holding onto the cylindrical metal washing pole in place. Albert Lee then began to steadily hammer the metal washing pole into shape and flattens it.
Dent after dent, as hammer marks began to appear all over the metal washing pole. With the 3d cylindrical shape gradually flattens and turning into a long rectangular shape.
After the hammering is done, Albert Lee then checks the thickness of the flat sheet of metal, as he raises it upwards for a much closer inspection.
'The sheet of metal is too thin to be made into a sword, so I definitely need to fold it over a couple of time to increase the thickness of the sheet before it can be turned into a sword.' He thought so to himself.
'But, the thinness of the sheet of metal thereby makes it alot easier to cut the flatten metal washing pole in half.' He thought.
He then finds the middle point in between the long sheet of metal, which was originally a metal washing pole, and made a scratch mark with the metal hand saw.
Afterwards, Albert Lee then proceeded to saw the flattened metal washing pole in half.
Slow and steady, he repeated the same motion over and over again, with the hand saw. As the hand saw then steadily cuts through the flattened metal washing pole until it is completely cut in half.
Ding!
And not so long after, he then heard the sound of the system notification ringing inside his head, and a blue screen then appears in front of him.
(!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill [Blacksmith Hammering Lv.1] has been acquired!
'Hmmm... Not bad. I've obtained a new skill, huh.' He thought so to himself, whilst calculating the next step and method to his forging.
Albert Lee then took 1 half of the flattened metal washing pole, as he brings it to the outer edge of the window sill.
By using the edge of the window sill to help contort the shape of the flattened metal washing pole to it easier to bend into place. Afterwards, he then hammers the two bend edges into place, thereby forming a complete fold.

Though the width of the flattened metal washing pole has shortened by a half. The thickness of the soon to be sword blade has doubled.
'And now, all that is left is to straighten the sword blade out, and sharpening the edge, whilst fixing the handle with duct tape.' He thought.
'The quenching process that requires the sword blade to heat up to near 1000 degrees, when the steel turns bright orange or red, and then dibs the hot sword blade into the oil so that it would rapidly cool evenly and hardens the sword blade. It's not entirely needed in order to finish off a sword, but it does make the sword stronger and less likely to immediately wear down its durability.' He assumes at the top of his head.
'If I really need a proper sword, with incredible durability. I can always buy a new one from the {System Store}.' He thought and indicated.
And after straightening the sword blade out for as much as possible. He then went to the kitchen and opened the bottom cupboard, right below the kitchen sink area, and got a grindstone.
A cheap grindstone that his father bought many years ago in order to sharpen his kitchen knives. So that they won't grow dull over the years and be replaced with new ones.
He then pours some water over the cheap grindstone to wet it, before starting to grind the edge of the sword blade against the cheap grindstone.
Ding!
The sound of the system notification, as a blue screen panel then appears in front of him, indicating that he has obtained a new skill but he immediately ignores it.
(!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill [Sharpening Tool Lv.1] has been acquired!
After sharpening the edge of the sword blade to near completion. He then used the cheap grindstone to grind down the end of the sword blade, where the sword handle part should be, until it reached a comfortable shape to handle.
Ding!
The sound of the system notification, as a blue screen panel then appears in front of him, indicating that he had managed to obtain a new skill.
(!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill [Grinding Tool Lv.1] has been acquired! (!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill [Grinding Tool Lv.1] has levelled up and become [Grinding Tool Lv.2]! (!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill [Grinding Tool Lv.2] has levelled up and become [Grinding Tool Lv.3]! (!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill [Grinding Tool Lv.3] has levelled up and become [Grinding Tool Lv.4]!
Grinding metal manually definitely takes alot of time and arm strength to file the sword handle down to shape than using an automatic spinning grinding machine.
It took him over half an hour just to get the desired shape for the sword handle right.
Afterwards, Albert Lee then takes out duct tape from one of the kitchen drawers and steadily wraps the duct tape around the sword handle until he reached a desirable level of grip and comfortability.
Ding!
So when the sword that is held within his hands is confirmed by the system to have been completed. He then heard the sound of the system notification ringing inside of his head, and a blue screen panel then appears in front of him.
(!) System Notification You have successfully created an uncommon rank grade 2-star {Crude Steel Sword}! (!) System Notification Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill [Basic Blacksmithing Lv.1] has been acquired!
After the successful creation of a uncommon rank equipment, Albert Lee then gains a new skill in the process.
"A new skill, huh." He said, commenting. "Well, sweet."
Ding!
The sound of the system notification as a blue screen panel then appears in front of him.
(!) System Notification You have fulfilled the necessary requirements to unlock the {Blacksmith} class by possessing three of the primary blacksmith apprentice skill! (!) System Notification Would you like to assign the {Blacksmith} class to one of the three subclass slots? Accept Decline (!) System Notification
Warning: Once you have assigned a subclass to one of your three subclass slots! It then becomes permanent and could no longer be changed!
However, it is possible to level up and rank up your subclass into something stronger or possibly unique!
'Well, things have certainly gotten alot more interester.' He thought so to himself, as a curious smile then perked upon his lips.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.

Once you go Wuxxia you never go back. [Not a Parody but moreso a revised wuxxia.]
Robert Nord wakes up from a deep sleep, one he regreted to ever take. Instead of waking up to his well-known, stark, eggshell-white ceiling, atop his luxurious 800€ mattress with down feather duvet and fluffy cushions, he finds himself staring at molden planks of wood, a stench of sweat, blood and iron mellowing in the air. A world of swords that sunder oceans and fists that crack mountainsides. This is a world known throughout the dimensions, a world of wuxxia and xianxia. (This fiction will be parodying many a wuxxia and hopefully do a good job with it. Not only will I try and stress the most ridiculous down-sides of wuxxias but I will also take a shot at making it enjoyable while I'm at it. And don't be fooled by the Lit-RPG tag, after all, every MC needs his secret weapon, regardless how much they try to deny it.)
