《World Integration》Chapter 1: The Prologue

'This world is so boring.' The boy thought so to himself, grimacing slightly as he scrutinises his brows.
The boy thought, 'I really hope that something change or at least something interesting would happen.'
'Something like after waking up, having found that the world that we knew it has had suddenly changed. It had become very game-like, combined with fictional world elements, with role-playing RPG levelling mechanics and such...' The boy came up with many interesting ideas, so many to hardly count, as he then becomes immersed within his tiny little world.
'I mean literally anything could be better than living in this boring dumb of a world at the moment.' The boy thought.
And then a mysterious voice spoke back to him through telepathy, "Well then, let me grant you that foolish wish of yours. Boy."
"Wha-! Who are you? Or where exactly are you?" The boy hurriedly said.
He then panics, showcasing a frightened expression, like a scared child. He then immediately gets up from his bed, in which he was laying down on his mattress a few seconds ago, to have a quick look at his surrounding.
However, having found no one there, or anything strange and unsuspecting in the room that may catch his eye. He was then confused.
'Was I hallucinating something or just plainly hearing things after having no social contacts with people for so long.' He thought.
"I am nowhere near you. And no, I'm definitely am not a figure of your imagination. So you are not hearing things." The mysterious voice then spoke to the boy through mental telepathy from another different place, or possibly a different plane of existence entirely.
The mysterious voice then immediately gets right down to business, as he said to the boy. "Ragnarok is nearing. So I am here to possibly gather up any potential ideas for the upcoming change, and then I happened to have encountered a thoughtful child like you with such great ideas."
"So I've then decided to talk with you before I set the strange idea that you've imagined up into motion." The mysterious voice said.
'Ragnarok is coming. So you are basically going to change the world, and wanted to have a little talk with me first for my opinion?' The boy asked the mysterious voice.
"That is basically the point, yeah." The mysterious voice answered.
A thought curiously crossed his mind, which then in turns turned into unanswered questions. So he then decided to perk up his courage in order to ask the mysterious voice and enquire about its identity and origins.

'So first off, who are you?' The boy asked the mysterious voice.
"Me? I am the God of Chaos and Mischief, Loki!" The mysterious voice answered, which was certainly a great surprise towards the boy. It thereby left him with even more unanswered questions.
"You're Loki the God of Mischief. The Loki, the God of Mischief from Norse Mythology!" The boy said, with quivering lips, as his body is visibly shaken at the mere idea of talking and actually having a conversation with a true god.
"Yes, I am true that Loki! However, I am not the same one as the handsome fictional Loki that you guys created for your own personal entertainment and cinematography. Though, I wished that my actual self was that handsome as Tom Hiddleston." Loki spoke about himself with a deep sense of regret, lowering his self-esteem a bit, before sighing.
"Oh, boy..." The boy responded slightly at a loss for words about what to say.
Loki then forcefully changed the subject at hand, regarding the importance of his past actions, which is recorded in Norse Mythology. "I am the one that started and caused the previous Ragnarok which took millions of human lives millenias ago. Not only wreaking havoc in the Divine World but also on Middle Earth as well. Though times have changed, there is still many repercussion of my past actions that have managed to create, fabricate, and shape the world's history as it is today."
"And many of the Old Gods from various races and religion have decided to renounce their old ways; from living a barbaric lifestyle to a more modern carefree lifestyle amongst the humans, thereby adapting to the recent changes and technology advancements. And it's time to change that." Loki said to the boy with a look of difference in his tone of voice.
"So let me get this right. Not only are you are a God, but you are planning on starting a second Ragnarok to order to restart the world and bring in a new beginning. So you want my opinion." The boy said so in order to get the summary of whatever Loki just recently said.
"Well, you've pretty much gotten what my intention is, right!" Loki nonchalantly said, without a care in the world.
'I just feel so dumb right now. A god literally started talking to me, saying that he wanted to ask for my opinion on the new type of world that he is gonna be putting the Earth through. I certainly hope that he would make it to have a game like mechanics.' The boy thought so to himself, filled with wishful thinking.

"So far, I am currently going to combine a bunch of mini-dimensions together, thereby combining it all into one, including this world as well," Loki said which manages to garner the boy's interest.
Loki then continues, "The worlds will definitely have a more fantasy element like swords and magic, monsters and magical beasts for the magic system. Whilst, at the same time, for those who like sci-fi and space so much. There is the futuristic system which includes espers, mutants, and such. Inspired by many famous works of art, movie cinematography, and the superheroes world..."
"And lastly there is the cultivation world, filled to the brim with martial arts, daoist, devils, and fairies. The so-called Chinese people's most favourite type of literature and culture focused on the many sophisticated mysteries of the world. All being combined into one. I just feel like I am missing something, so I came to ask if you know what it is." Loki recollected, as he then asks the boy for a little advice.
'That is certainly amazing.' The boy thought, and couldn't but contain his excitement and glee.
"Well, if you really thinking about combining all of those worlds together to form a large one, then maybe you should think about adding in a System in order to regulate and control the source of information, like a database. Basically, the system shows the people their statuses which will certainly have all of their own personal information recorded, like their name, race, gender, age, and occupation." The boy suggested which seem to further catch Loki's interest.
"Then you can put in things like classes, like those that you would see in RPG type of games. For instance Dungeon & Dragons as an example, and also a store function in the system in which can buy and exchange an item from the system store. People would earn points for the store by killing monsters, completing quests, and stuff." The boy finally finishes speaking.
"That sounds like a freaking amazing idea! Can't wait to tell Odin and Athena about this! I love it! Since you gave me such a good idea, and I like you. I will let you have any one thing that you want and wish of." Loki said, granting anything the boy wishes and so-called greatest desires. If he certainly wishes for it.
"Then I want my own personal inventory storage space that only I can access." The boy didn't even hesitate to ask.
Normally, in time like this where the world had suddenly become an apocalypse. The things that you would be able to carry would be extremely limited, and possibly affect your chances of survival if you are not ready and prepare for any types of danger.
"Hmmm..." Loki is thinking to himself.
"A smart choice, though I was certainly expecting something much grander like possibly immortality, eternal youth, or endless wealth to be used in the system store. Not a personal inventory space. But it is certainly doable with whatever little amounts of divinity that I may possess." Loki said in a haughty tone, whilst displaying his abilities as a God of this world.
After he said this, there was then a big announcement that was made to the world to every individual that is living on this planet. Even those with little amounts of intelligence, so long as you are a living breathing creature or plant. You are definitely not affected by Loki's divinity.
Ding!
The sound of the notification screen and a blue screen panel then appears in front of everyone that is on Earth.

Our Shattered Realms
*This is a learning experience for me so please keep in mind that I am attempting to work on some of the issues brought to my attention early on. However I haven't yet gone back to redo the early chapters.* Less than two days ago every piece of electronics in the world stopped working for more than two hours. The death toll was immense. Hospital equipment failed, cars stopped in the middle of the street, planes fell from the sky, and homework was lost at the worst possible moment. We found out that it was just the flicker and hum of The System warming up. Now we see the true cost of our new world. A Dark comedy that focuses on a few of the many people who aren't stuck in a high level dungeon when our world is translated and joined to Our Shattered Realms. This is my first story that I have published. I welcome any criticism that you have for me. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
