First, let's talk about the upgrade of her skills;

After the Bio-Electric energy rank up, she can feel that energy was more controllable, more efficient by 5%. By ranking this baby, all of her related Bio-Electric skills consumption decreases, that's right, more electrocuted for thugs.

Bio-electro body enhancement can make her movement speed and attack speed rise a level making her faster once she used it. But first, she needs to determine the change of the skill personally to know her limitation. Since it ranks up, the consumption of the skill will increase too, but thankfully the rank up Bio-Electric energy can balance the consumption of the skill.

On the other hand, she doesn't know what Bio-electro enchantment change is. She'll need to find for herself what the change is.

She looks at the [Electricity Resistance] strangely

"You saying I like torturing myself is that it?"

But since her fight against the mysterious enemy, even if the skill was torture, she was still going to use it to win. But with this skill, the damage of Electricity on her body will be far less when she uses Electricity related skills.

She calms herself and tries to think of the best way to use this golden stat. Of course, what she needs right now was to unlock the three max stats.

Physical stats increase her strength, endurance, and physical regeneration;

Speed stats increase her attack speed, movement speed, and dexterity;

Wisdom stats increase her intelligence, her energy regeneration, and energy proficiency.

Right now, she was pondering if she needs physical stats for endurance. Her current body can't take any more damage because of her body limit. By unlocking the phy stats, her endurance might increase which will follow the limit of using bio-electricity skills.

The speed stats, on the other hand, can be ignored, for now, she didn't need the speed boost temporarily because she hasn't met someone faster than her (except for those masters like Stick, they are not human so they're the exception), besides, after her body enhancement increase by thee times, she doubts someone can be her peer base on speed temporarily(flash and quicksilver was an exception, they are not humans).

On the wisdom stats, she was currently satisfied with her current skills. So she doesn't need to unlock the wisdom temporarily.

Thinking of her decision, she resolves herself and clicks the phy stats.

"Are you sure you want to [unlock] the[Phy] stats?"

She clicks yes

Suddenly, she felt her body start to get warm, she can feel some of the inner damage start to repair at incredible speed. After a few seconds, the repair was completely done.

"Ding"

"After unlocking the Phy stats, you have gained +1 in Phy"

"You have gained [Cellular regeneration (F)]- After you break the average human limit, you have gained the ability to regenerate your cells to heal yourself automatically."

She sits up on the bed and tried to move her body, she was shocked that she felt refresh like a newborn baby. She can no longer feel the pain caused by the overusing skills. She felt like she can take multiple opponents right now.

"Is this what they call to level up? Fricking awesome"

She looks at her status screen again and smiles satisfaction.

After a few minutes, Matt came in with a tray of food. She was about to sit up but Matt stops her.

"Don't get up yet, you're still healing from fatal wounds"

"Don't worry, I'm fine, look."

Not waiting for Matt to react, she stood up and jump up and down multiple times making him gawk, he almost drops the tray on the floor, thankfully Joan managed to grab the tray edge fast before it tips over.

Matt was still in shock; it was evident in his face.

"You-, How-, What the- " he shakes his head, trying to clarify his brain what's happening right now.

"What happened to you? You-your already healed?"

"Yep"

Matt concentrates on Joan trying to find the reason why she healed fast. He can see multiple cells regenerating faster inside her, Elektra still has wounds on her body, but every nano-second, the cell was repairing itself, replacing the dead cells by newly generated cells. It was the first time he saw something like a dead cell coming back to life.

"Incredible," he said in awe, he looks at her up and down as if he just discovers a new species.

She frowns when she felt him staring at her. Maybe this is one of the perks of her skills ranking up. After her Bio-Electric energy rank up, she became more sensitive to electric energy waves around her. It was like Matt's version of high sense skill but much lower grade. Maybe she can continue trying to feel the energy around her and create a skill...

"How did you do it?" he asks in wonder.

"Don't know, I woke up and my body was already like this."

He felt that she wasn't lying base on her heartbeat making him dejected.

"If I can learn that cell regeneration, then maybe..." he shakes his head to dispel the seed of hope that is born within him before it grows.

She looks at him and ponders

"If you would let me, I would like to test these skills"

She doesn't know if this will work, but she likes to try if her cellular regeneration skills will work on others.

He just shakes his head and about to say something.

"Hey, virgin boy, no harm done in doing it right?"

"I'm not a virgin anymore remember?" he retorts

"Oh, I don't know, I seem to forget."

"Just say you want to-"

She just rolls her eyes

"Okay, okay sheesh your not fun to tease anymore"

"So you teasing me huh?"

He put the tray at the nightside table and back her up until they hit the edge of the bed.

"Let me show you what happens when you are teasing a beast"

"Beast? Really? Prove it"

After an hour of intense exercise, they both try to gasp for breathing, trying to recover their energy.

"Jesus, what are you eating, are you using some kind of Viagra or something?"

"I work out" he retorts

"Then keep at it" she cheerfully said

Matt covers his eye with his arm and groan.

"I don't know why I'm like a teenage boy in hormones when it comes to you"

"Well I'm very flattered, maybe you just discovering your new hobby."

Matt didn't answer and remove his arms and look at her.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Shoot"

He faces her side and puts his hands under his chin.

"What are we doing?"

She gawks when she heard that and looks at Matt strangely.

"Sex obviously."

"No, not that I mean this" he waves his hand to her and him

"Can you be more specific than that?"

Matt rubs his face, not knowing how to explain it. He laid down on his bed and look at the ceiling. After a few seconds, he finally talks.

"The first time I meet you, I was very curious. You seem like everybody else, having fun, talking girls talk to each other, flirting with the boys." When he spoke the last line, he can't help but frown in dissatisfaction.

"But there is something about you that pulls me- "

"Wait, are you confessing right now?"

Matt suddenly looks elsewhere, while his face became red.

"Matt Murdock, a prodigy in law class, was blushing like a teenage boy." She laughs

"Shut up," he said in gruff tones.

She laughs more, making him smile, then he became serious again.

"When I finally decide to take my chance the next day to get to know you, I was shocked and disappointed and found out you are also a master's disciple and have been a task to kill me. I don't know what to expect anymore. the next day after I recover, you suddenly show up out of nowhere and offer me to be your friend, I don't know what to feel at that time, maybe happy because I can finally know you or anger because it may be one of master's plot." He shakes his head trying to erase what happened that day.

"Then, for a moment, I became happy. Even if you kill those five bastards, I can't feel a little bit of guilt of letting you kill them. But you respect my wish and we became a partner, and that day, I was happy. So fucking happy that my friends ask me what did I do for me to have this smile. I just found out that I been grinning like a fool."

Suddenly his face became nervous

"Elektra, I like you, whatever happened between us in the past, I don't care anymore. What I know is you make me happy by just staying with at my side. Please be my girlfriend?" he asks hopefully

After his confession, she ponders how she should answer this man. She knows she doesn't belong in this world; she is just a passing traveler. There will be more different worlds, and she soon she will meet more people like Matt. She can't just accept a confession without properly dealing with it.

"Matt?"

"Um"

"Look at me"

He looks at her sideways.

She touches his growing stubble and rubs on it making him subconsciously follow her palm.

"Thank you for your confession, Matt, I appreciate it"

"It seems like your giving me the nice guy card here" he smiles bitterly while gripping her palm tightly

"Shut up, and let me finish"

Matt just shrugged, but inside he already feels the pain of the rejection in his heart.

"I like fun Matt, I like sex, it's awesome but that's all I can give you Matt; fun. I'm not ready for any sort of commitment, and neither do you, you're just starting on your career, so don't destroy that by pining on a girl you barely know okay?"

He gulps and nods stiffly, Joan didn't say anything and hug him tightly.

"Try to enjoy life Matt, don't rush it." She whispers to his ear, she can feel him stiffen, but soon he hugs her back tightly. She just sighs. Emotions are a messy thing.
