After seeing Kazuya off with a heavy heart, Lilica decided to go to her father’s room to consult him. Maybe staying with her father would be able to dispel some of her worries.

Knock. Knock.

Mr. Stell was just about to fall asleep but was woken up by the knocking on the door.

Wondering who it was, Mr. Stell stood up and went to the door.

“Lily? What are you doing here?” Mr. Stell asked, feeling surprised. Usually she would be in her own room by this time.

“Dad, I somehow feel really insecure. Is it fine if I stay with you for tonight?” Lilica asked, feeling like she was back to when she as small, wanting to sleep with her parents so she wouldn’t have nightmares.

“Huh? Isn’t that brat with you? What, did you two quarrel or something?” Mr. Stell asked as he felt happy that the two of them were fighting. Afterall, he still hadn’t full accepted Kazuya yet.

“No. It’s just that he got an emergency call, so he had to go out to help with the investigation. I feel a little insecure sleeping by myself.” Lilica answered truthfully.

“Tch!” Mr. Stell immediately clicked his tongue when he heard that the two of them weren’t fighting. He then said, “You can stay with me just like when you were small then.”

Lilica then entered her father’s room and got ready to sleep but still felt worry in her heart and couldn’t quite sleep. As a result, she whipped out her phone and texted Ven to vent her feelings.

At Ventina’s house

The two f them had just finished a round of intense activity and was basking in the afterglow when Ven’s phone sounded.

Ven reached out for his phone and saw that Lilica had messaged him.

‘Ven, did you go join the investigation too? How’s Kazuya? Is he still safe?’

Just as Ven was a little confused as to what investigation Lilica meant, another message popped up.

‘I heard from Kazuya that Ellie just disappeared, so he had to head out to give a hand in the investigation.’

Ven then understood what she meant but he as a knight, wasn’t even told to go help investigate so why did Kazuya have to go?

Ven was about to reply when Lilica continued, ‘Ven? Answer me! Is Kazuya still safe? Has he safely reached the site?’

Ven was going to answer but Lilica didn’t give him any time.

‘Ven?’

‘Hello?’

‘You still there?’

‘Answer me!’

‘Ven!’

As Ven didn’t silence his one, all the notifications from Lilica just kept on popping out and caught Ventina’s attention.

Curious, Ventina inched in closer to see who he was texting so late into the night. Seeing that it was his old crush, Ventina was a little displeased with how Ven had the nerve to pick up his phone and message his old crush just after they had finished. She didn’t mind Lilica messaging Ven since she knew that Lilica already had Kazuya. However, she was afraid that Ven would go back to liking Lilica after they had been together for so long during the time that she was in the demon realm.

“It seems like little Ven doesn’t appreciate me. I guess I should contact one of my pursuers.” Ventina said as she also grabbed her phone and searched her contact list for a guy’s name.

As she searched from the most recent contact, Zeke’s name appeared at the top and Ventina clicked into his name so they could chat.

‘Are you asleep?’ Ventina was about to tap send when Ven snatched her phone away and said in a tone filled with jealousy, “Who gave you permission to chat with him so late at night?”

“Well, I don’t need your permission, right? Since you don’t need my permission to message with your old crush so late at night, I don’t need your permission too, no?” Ventina said in a tone that had a tiny hint of jealousy, so tiny that she herself didn’t realize.

“Are you jealous?” Ven smiled when he realized that Ventina was being jealous.

“I’m not! Anyways, give me back my phone and don’t bother me! Go continue chatting with your Lilica!” Ventina pouted.

“Nope! I’m not chatting with her anymore so you can’t chat too.” Ven smiled devilishly.

However, just as Ventina was about to retort, Ven’s phone sounded, indicating that there was an incoming call. Ven glanced at his phone and saw that it was Lilica. Was she so impatient for waiting for his reply that she called him?

Ven looked at Ventina to ask for permission to answer the call but at this point, Ventina had completely ignored him as she was feeling very upset. She had also taken the chance and took back her phone and turned her back to him.

Ven sighed helplessly as he put on the speaker mode so that his little girlfriend wouldn’t feel so upset and hugged Ventina’s sexy back, trying to coax her.

As Ventina was still upset with him, she pinched his moving hands and pouted her cheeks.

Ven didn’t give up and continued hugging her despite her efforts to stop him.

On the other side, Lilica didn’t hear anything except for the sound of fabric moving so she asked, “Ven? Are you at home? Kazuya isn’t with you?”

Ven answered truthfully, “Yeah. I’m at home with Tina.”

As he finished his sentence, he moved his hands to stroke Ventina’s short hair lovingly, bringing it to his lips for a kiss.

“You didn’t join in with the investigation? Do you know anyone on the investigation team? Can you give me their contact details? I’m really worried abut Kazuya.” Lilica asked worriedly.

“Well, the thing is that I don’t even now that the investigation team had lost sight of Ellie. No one contacted me. I’ll send you the other knights’ contact details.” Ven replied truthfully as he moved his fingers to send the contact details to Lilica.

Lilica went silent for a while as if in deep thought before her voice trembled slightly, “If you weren’t contacted, is it possible that one of the knights had become a spy and lured Kazuya into their hideout? If this is true, Kazuya’s in danger!”

At her speculation, Ven’s hand that was trying to coax Ventina stopped moving. The more he thought about it, the more he felt that it was possible. As a result, Ven face became serious immediately as he said, “I’ll try contacting the other knights to see if there is really any emergency that needs the prince to appear. Just stay at home. With your father at home, he should be able to protect you in case the enemy’s target is you.”

“Okay.” Lilica said with a heavy heart. Worry and anxiousness filled her heart once again. She hoped that this wasn’t one of the enemy’s ploy. Kazuya, you need to be safe!
