Most of the employees seemed a little shocked that the CEO himself would admit that his previous marriage was a failure.

Lilica pulled him lightly and whispered so only the two of them could hear, “When did you have time to come up with such a story? What will you do when Kazuki comes back to maintain the company? Are you going to say that you just got back together or something?”

“I just thought of it just now. Kazuki won’t be coming back to the company anymore. Father wants him to learn how to manage the kingdom’s affairs now since he plans on retiring soon. So that makes this company mine to manage.” Kazuki whispered back.

“I see. Then you don’t need to help him manage the demon realm?” Lilica asked.

“No need. Father said that I could do whatever I want since I won’t need to be king.” Kazuya replied back nonchalantly.

Lilica was about to reply when the girl before them shouted, “I’m sorry for slandering her then. But how was I supposed to know something like that? I was just worried that you would be tricked, CEO. After all, there were so many rumors about her…” It seems like she couldn’t bare to see her beloved CEO be intimate with this woman.

At this point, she felt that she was probably going to be fired anyway so she didn’t care about her speech anymore. At least, she was going to be remembered by the CEO, even if it was as someone who slandered his wife.

The girl then tried to walk away but was stopped by Kazuya’s cold voice, “Where do you think you’re going?”

“I was going to leave. You’ve already fired me, right?” The girl said in a dejected voice.

“Wait. Pack your things away too. Our company doesn’t need your luggage.” Kazuya commanded before he grabbed Lilica’s bag on her old desk and walked away together with her hand in his hands.

The poor girl’s tears then fell as she saw him leave. Why was he so cruel and cold? He didn’t even pity her when she was already feeling down.

“Kazuya, was it okay to leave like that? That girl seemed so pitiful.” Lilica asked as she looked back and caught a glimpse of the girl squatting on the floor, crying.

“I need to set an example for those people who insulted my wife.” Kazuya replied without looking back.

“But weren’t you too harsh on her?”

“It will set a fine example then. No one would dare to insult you now.”

“But…” Lilica still felt bad for the girl.

“No buts! Don’t you know I’m doing this for you? Just seeing them look at you like that makes my blood boil.” Kazuya halted his footsteps and turned to look at her earnestly.

“I know. But she didn’t really do anything wrong, right? She just believed the rumors about me.” Lilica still argued.

“She’s been annoying me for quite some time already. Ever since she first started, her gaze was so annoying I didn’t properly promote her. She’s only in the secretary department because most of the shareholders recommended her and I couldn’t not promote her.” Kazuya replied back matter-of-factly.

“Okay then…” Lilica replied as she felt a tickle to her heart. So, it seems he knows about this girl.

Kazuya looked into her eyes and could feel a tiny hint of jealousy from her gaze. However, he couldn’t understand why she would suddenly feel jealous.

“Are you jealous?” Kazuya decided to ask her.

“Maybe a little.” Lilica replied, pouting a bit.

“What are you being jealous for?” Kazuya asked her sweetly as he pinched her cheeks lightly.

“Well… You remembered her. Doesn’t that mean that she leaves quite an impression on you? I don’t want your mind to contain thoughts of other random women.” Lilica replied in a low voice, as if she was scared, he would hear her.

Of course, Kazuya being the doting husband he was, he could hear her near whisper voice, and replied with his charming smile, “You don’t need to be so jealous. As the CEO, it is natural that I remember the names and faces of my employees. She isn’t special to me or anything. The only employee that’s special to me is you, wifey~”

“Really?” Lilica looked into his eyes when she was met with his sweet smile, feeling sweet all over.

“Of course. I would never lie to you.” Kazuya said as he moved in closer, as if to kiss her. However, he stopped just as their lips were an inch away.

“Now let’s go back to my office.” Kazuya said as he turned to walk to his office.

Lilica, who was closing her eyes waiting for a kiss, immediately blushed when she heard his sentence. She totally thought he was going to kiss her! So embarrassing!

Unknown to her, Kazuya, who was walking in front of her, was also blushing lightly. The reason he had suddenly stopped himself from kissing her was because he was afraid, afraid that he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from making a move on her in front of everyone! At least, if they were in his office, he would be able to flirt with her without a care in the world!
