“What was the guy’s name?” Kazuya asked.

“I think it was Elvin something…” Lilica replied, feeling unsure.

“Elvin Rochester?” Kazuya asked, having a bad feeling. If it was really the same guy, then…

“Yeah! Rochester! I forgot his last name. By the way, how do you know his name?” Lilica asked questioningly.

“He’s one of the suspects behind my brother’s accident and many other incidents aimed at the royal family.” Kazuya asked, feeling vengeful. If his brother hadn’t had the accident, his whole family wouldn’t have had to feel despaired at the fact that his brother was in a vegetative state.

“! Really?! What a coincidence!” Lilica exclaimed.

“Was your father at the top of his grade back then? It could be possible that Elvin was trying to prevent your father from becoming a knight, since your father was strong. He had gone missing for the last 200 years and we have tried to find him but to no avail. Elvin had bad mouthed many of the top students at the knight academy, making quite a number of them dropped out from the pressure. Together with Elvin, we have around 20 more suspects behind my brother’s accident. It was believed that all of the suspects had gone missing from the demon world many years ago at almost the same time. It’s very suspicious.” Kazuya explained, his face gradually darkened as he thought about the incidents that had happened to his family.

After his brother had went into a coma, the palace was in chaos. Someone tried to poison the whole royal family. If not for the chef feeling something was wrong, all of them would probably be on their deathbed by now. His mother feared that the next-in-line, Kazuya would be targeted too so she had sent Kazuya and Lilienne to the human world to investigate. After Kazuya went to the human world, he had heard news that his parents’ lives had been in danger many times too.

“Yeah. My dad was about to become the head knight back then, if not for the rumors that were going around. I think what you said might be possible… What should we do? Elvin’s still missing even now, right?” Lilica asked worriedly. Somehow, she felt like something bad was about to happen, with all the pieces coming together. She was worried for his safety and the little baby in her womb.

“Don’t worry. I won’t let him touch you. Just try not to go out of Sharon’s house during the one-month time. I can protect you better after that.” Kazuya reassured her worries as he started forming plans and piecing the clues together.

“You stay safe too.” Lilica said worriedly.

“You too. I love you.” Kazuya replied, feeling even more determined to get to the bottom of this mystery.

“I love you too.” Lilica replied back before hanging up.

As soon as he finished the phone call, he dialed the royal investigation team leader’s number and told him to investigate the knight academy for any possible clues.

Kazuya got dressed up and went down the stairs to the living room, where Mr. and Mrs. Stell were sitting.

“Your next task is to go buy the things on this list. Go by yourself and don’t use any magic. No cars too.” Mr. Stell said coldly as he handed a piece of paper to Kazuya, trying to hide his smug face.

Kazuya looked at the list.

20 apples

The list was extremely long and filled with things that were heavy. Somehow, Kazuya felt like ordering these things home would be a lot easier but still, he couldn’t disobey Mr. Stell if he wanted to be accepted.

Mrs. Stell felt a little strange when she saw her husband’s smug face. She looked towards the list and asked Kazuya, “Can I see the list?”

As soon as she said that, Mr. Stell smug face dropped instantly and became pale from guilt.

Kazuya gave the list to Mrs. Stell when he heard her.

“!” Mrs. Stell was shocked at the amount of things Kazuya had to buy. These things were quite heavy and more importantly, they didn’t need this much stuff! They weren’t hibernating!

“We don’t need this much!” Mrs. Stell exclaimed as she took out a pen and crossed out over half of the things in the list and handed it back to Kazuya. Kazuya looked at the list once again.

The edited list became;

Ingredients you want to eat for dinner’

“Don’t listen to my husband’s nonsense. Feel free to use magic or a car to transport them.” Mrs. Stell kindly said.

“Okay, Mom.” Kazuya replied politely as he walked out of the house to buy the things on the list.
