《Emil's Night》Chapter 18: Epilogue

Emil went back home. This time he went straight, without looking over his shoulder or taking longer ways to lose any possible pursuers. He looked around his apartment, but Mira and Ruta were not around. After he entered he realized that Eon wasn’t home either. He sat down for a minute, but then gave a loud sigh and stood back up, pick up his own violin and went to the forest. With the instrument he headed straight into the forest. Once he reached the stream he stopped. It was the place that had begun the stream of the bizarre events that took place around him. He leaned against an old tree and lifted the violin. Without even tuning it he began playing straight away. It was the first time in a while that he was able to play straight away despite not using the violin that he had taken from the glade. He played both classical pieces of music and melodies from the glade as well. He had no trouble remembering how to perform them. He stayed there in the forest for the rest of the night.
When the first light of dawn shone through the leaves he stopped and went back home. He turned on the news and began cooking meat for his little wards while waiting. At some point the report on the nocturnal events began. It detailed that the police had found the dissected body of a man in an old house after an anonymous tip. The room he was found in seemed to be made for the purpose of holding twisted rituals of human sacrifice. After an investigation many images were found of the same man carrying out even more rituals on various people, some of whom had been people, who had disappeared in the last ten years, most of them young girls. It was unknown at the time, how the murderer ended up in the same state as his own victims, but the investigation would continue.

As the report ended Emil heard a sound behind him and turned around.
“So it is done then? I must admit, I did not expect you to carry out your task so fast.”
“I had some help.”
“I gathered as much. I wouldn’t take you for someone who would leave a body in that poor state. But in the end it doesn’t matter how, only that the task is completed. Congratulations.”
“Thanks, I suppose. It turned out that he was a really bad person. He had killed a couple of people.”
“Yes, guess he was,” Eon replied and jumped onto the table.
“So …”
“What?”
“What will happen next Eon?”
“Relax, for now you can enjoy some more freedom. Also my name is Eleonora.” Emil’s heart sank. It was a name he hadn’t heard in years and had all but suppressed any memory of it. Now those memories came flooding back.

Distant Leaps to Circinus
A dark fantasy story that takes place on a reborn Earth. "With all the planets in the universe, it just had to be this one." Not many thoughts came to mind when scientists said they could provide the Earth with nearly infinite power. Humans could only think about the future, after all: they could travel to the farthest reaches of space, never worry about their electric bills again, and give rise to new and innovative technologies. With such good outcomes on the horizon, there was no way humanity would sit idle; instead, they studied perhaps the most powerful entity in the entire Milky Way. It seemed that, after its appearance decades ago, the strange and unmoving black sphere was something of a godsend. There will always be a reason for these things. With one touch, our very reality was but a grain of sand in an hourglass. In an instant, the Earth was gone - replaced by something… different. More than a century later, Earth’s remains have reformed into a completely different beast - a planet both alive and dead at the same time. Physics that were once understood no longer made sense, giant land masses floated in the sky, and billions of people fought for their very survival. Work, sleep, and play were no more; it was time for the world, Circinus, to reign. The birth of Circinus could only be the beginning. The powerful yet ever-elusive black sphere seemed to watch the world from afar - casting light for those below, but never truly emitting light from itself. What does it all mean for the children of Circinus - children born with eyes that seemed to stare into God’s heart?

AOT: Boats
I know, the title doesnt seem to make sense. Its an acronym. For what? Hm. T means True. Up to you otherwise. Oh, right. The acronym actually does have an impact on one of the themes of the "story". At the same time I mixed it up with a reference to the original plan for this when I started, so yay. A double. Well, actually, a triple. Again, up to you. I should also mention that, as the rhyme that starts the story probably tells you, its gonna get kinda disturbing. All kinds of disturbing. Just to let you know.
