《Svails: Chains of Nebulas》Chapter 9: Ripple

"So, wanna tell me why you are hurting a girl who is like a little sister to me?!" Angel says in anger as she overpowers and pushes exceilot back. Meanwhile, Ren and Yui instruct Siyo and Migro to retreat from battle and get Wendy and Sagamie back to the base for immediate medical attention, to which Siyo reluctantly agrees to do. As the two run over to Sagamie and Wendy, Siyo is in shock at the state of Wendy and her wounds, the floor covered in blood, and Wendy barely being able to keep consciousness.
"I'm so sorry Wendy! This is all my fault, I shouldn't have been so naive, please don't die! I won't allow it!" Siyo begs.
Wendy breathes heavily as she trys to speak to Siyo, but is stopped by Siyo who insists she save her energy as she gets her back to base. Meanwhile Migro, who went over to Sagamie, gets a look at her wounds. Sagamie's leg having a deep stab into it, and her arm slashed with multiple cuts.
"M-Migro was it? We can't leave here, not until...We have saved my friend." Sagamie mutters.
"Are you insane?! Those wounds need to be treated, or they could become infec-"
"I don't care! My life doesn't matter without her! Nothing matters at all if she isn't here! Please I'm begging you! Save Marigold!"
Migro once again refuses Sagamie, a look of sadness and regret on his face insisting he can't put one persons life on the line when he knows he is capable of saving their life. "You people are all the same, you never listen to me. None of you ever listen to me!" Sagamie shouts as she activates her gauntlet, blasting Migro backward with a quick powerful shot of water. As Migro gets up unharmed, Sagamie stands up and insists she will rescue Marigold herself and runs past Migro.
"No wait!" Migro shouts.
"Migro! Take Wendy, I will go after her! Make sure she gets to a doctor!" Siyo shouts as she runs past Migro torwards Sagamie.
As Siyo runs after Sagamie, Angel notices her and shouts for her to stop, and to get Wendy back to the base, to which Siyo responds that she left Migro in charge of that task. Angel reluctantly agrees to Siyo's decisions and throws her, her sword that she got off Exceilot, wishing her luck in getting Sagamie back, and making her promise to come back safe.

"I promise! You taught me to believe in myself more Angel, I won't die until I can properly thank you for that!" Siyo smiles.
As Siyo once again proceeds in Sagamie's direction, she finds herself unable to move, and frozen in place. Angel redirects her attention to Exceilot, who is keeping Siyo present with her gauntlet ability. Angel attacks Exceilot, who blocks her attack with her two daggers once more.
"You know...The girl over there...Siyo was it? She said she was naive, which I'm not really going to deny, but tell me something. What exactly makes her different from you?! Is it rank? Experience? Because from my view, it's clear as day, that you are just as naive as her! You really thought I'd let her just leave!?" Exceilot chuckles as she trips Angel and stabs her shoulder, to which Angel quickly responds by jumping backward.
"I would take a note not to underestimate me, if you were looking for differences, then I'd say the biggest one is that I'm just as armed as you are!" Angel says with confidence as her eyes stare directly at Exceilot.
Moments after, Ren and Yui jump Exceilot, who then freezes Yui in mid air, and counter attacks Ren. "Angel now!" Ren shouts, as Angel rushes Exceilot, who then throws Yui's frozen body into Angel, knocking them both to the ground. "Oh my god! Look at this, the trio of fools, losing to a singular person. It's three against one and you can't even manage a clean hit, this is quite the show!" Exceilot laughs, clearly enjoying her battle with team Angel. As Angel begins to get back up she notices Siyo calling her name from the same spot she was frozen in.
"Angel! I think I figured it out!" Siyo screams.
"Siyo?! Weren't you frozen what-"
"I was, that's when the thought came to mind, I think she can only freeze one thing at a time!"
Suddenly a dagger is thrown directly at Siyo, who just barely dodges it, as it leaves a cut on her cheek. Angel takes a second to think about what Siyo said, and pieces together that in the battle so far, Exceilot hasn't used her gauntlet ability to freeze anymore than one thing at a time. "Well...It's worth a shot, time to see if she is as naive as she calls us" Angel mutters.

"Hey Exceilot! Care to explain exactly what that gauntlet of yours does, i'd say your secret is out now, we know how to counter it now." Angel says confidently.
"Oh please, you think you know its counter? Would you like to test that theory of yours, before you go blabbing like you have already won the battle! My gauntlet's name is Ripple, self given of course, not like these things are always given names, just abilities. There is one thing though, you are correct in saying my secret is out, by now I'm sure you have ascertained the knowledge that my gauntlet contains the ability to freeze things in a given moment of time, though I guess it comes off more like telekinesis. If your goal was for me to tell you something you didn't know, then you are surely mistaken that I'd be that stupid!" Exceilot explains to Angel as she suddenly freezes both Yui and Ren, and proceeds to throw one of her two daggers into each of them.
"YUI, REN!" Angel screams.
Meanwhile in the market, back in the hunter controlled parts of the city, Migro is running back to base, with A very wounded Wendy on his shoulders, barely able to keep his balance. "It's a good thing you're light, or this would take a lot longer! Hold on Wendy!" He says while grunting as he keeps strongly holding Wendy up on his back. Migro screams for a doctor as he passes through the market, begging every surrounding citizen if they can help with gunshot wounds.
"Over here! I can help!" A womans voice screams out.
Migro turns his head to the direction of the shouting, to see Arus standing there and waving Migro down from infront of a market stand. Migro rushes over to Arus and begs her to help, asking if she is a doctor, to which she responds that she is not, but is infact a hunter who is part of the research center. "We need to hold this wound, and slow the bleeding down, I can work on it, then we can qucikly transport her to the base, no offense but your carrying is only serving to make the wound worse. Give me one moment, and I can do something about this, Does anybody have something we can put her on!? A stretcher of some kind?!" Arus pleads.
Back in Siyo's location, she continues chasing after Sagamie, who ran deeper into rogue territory. "I hope Angel is gonna be okay, I had no time to waste, that was all the info I could give her" Siyo sighs, worrying for Angel's saftey. As she walks through the darkness, she begins to smell something so bad that she is forced to cover her nose, unsure where the smell is coming from, when she notices Sagamie enter a building in the distance. Siyo is quick to act, and rushes torward Sagamie, shouting for her to wait, and talk to her. The building Siyo follows Sagamie into, is nearly falling apart, with multiple cracks in the walls, and on the ceiling, almost as if the building could fall on them at any moment, a remnant of the battle Ryke once had to face with the Svails first arrival in Nebulas. "Why would she come here" Siyo wonders, when suddenly Sagamie's echoing voice fills the halls. "Marigold! Marigold where are you!? Can you hear me?!" Sagamie desperatly screams.
"Come on don't play games with me Marigold! Damn it! You have to be here!" Sagamie cries loudly, the echo's of her desperate voice, filling each and every hall, and exiting every window of the worn down building. As Siyo follows the source of Sagamie's voice, she finds an open door, and inside, was a room with chains attached to a wall, with ripped clothes, hanging from the chains, and a crying Sagamie on her knee's.
"S-Sagamie?" Siyo mutters as she reaches her hand out to Sagamie's shoulder.
"I failed, I fought Exceilot for her...THAT DEMON! I couldn't stay, the thought filled my mind. If I die then who is there left to save her, and I still failed. MY BEST FRIEND IS GONE! I don't know what to do now, what do I do, my life is nothing with Marigold." Sagamie sobs violently. Siyo can do nothing but stand there silently, unable to say anything, as Sagamie sobs on her knees, infront of the chains, where Marigold once was, nothing but pieces of her clothes to remind Sagamie of her failure.
