《My Story in the Otherworld》Chapter 3

I walked for around 5 minutes before I found a monster.
Horned Rabbit: Level 1
HP: 35
STR: 5
Speed: 10
Defense: 5
"Oh shit that monster looks like good food to me!" I immediately ran towards it in order to secure my lunch. When the rabbit saw that I was coming after it, it immediately started to run away.
"Damn it, come back!" Although I was technically supposed to be faster than it, it had better understanding of the forest and also I did not have goddamn shoes!
I stopped running because I knew I was not going to be able to capture the rabbit. I sighed and walked away.
However, after another 5 minutes of walking, I luckily found another rabbit.
"Oh yes, alright, let's not be stupid like last time,"
Learning my lesson, I used Conceal Presence and approached it slowly. Like I thought, the rabbit did not run away. While it was resting, I immediately used Slash.
Puchi!

Squeak!
The rabbit was now alarmed, but since my Slash hit, it did not have enough energy to run away. Therefore, it stood its ground and got into position to ram me with its horn.
I did not take it lightly as we were both level 1 and underestimating it would lead to my death. I got ready as well and we both stood still.
The rabbit got impatient and charged towards me.
Its speed was similar to mine making it pretty easy to track down. When it got close to me, I immediately used Counter.
Ting!
Puchi!

Squeak!
The rabbit closed it eyes and all signs of life was lost.

Congratulations you are now level 5!
"Wow, this EXP boost and EXP requirement cut is so nice! I gained 4 levels from a single rabbit!"

After I upgraded my skills, which was mostly Slash and Point Rush to deal as much damage as possible, I picked the rabbit up put it in the Item Box.
"Wait, does this thing preserve food? Navi, can I put food in the Item Box without it going bad?" I asked aloud
'Jeffrey, you can use telepathy to communicate to me or else it'll look strange if someone else saw you. As for your question, yes, all time is stopped in the Item Box so all food, or anything that can go bad will not go bad in there,'
'Alright,'
After this revelation, I put the bunny in the Item Box for later. I walked off to find more monsters to kill.
After a while of walking, I finally found another monster.
Goblin: Level 4
HP: 70
STR: 25
Speed: 7
Defense: 15
"Alright so this guy is even slower than the rabbit, but it seems his defense is a bit higher," I muttered to myself.
Once again, I used Conceal Presence and approached it extremely carefully. When I arrived in front of it, I immediately used Point Rush.
Puchi!
-65
Due to upgrading maxing out both Point Rush and Slash, both now dealt a lot more damage than before. As it only had around 5 HP left, it didn't really have enough strength to do anything. I slowly approached it and it looked at me frightened. I felt a bit of pity for it. I put my Katana down and sheathed it. Seeing this, the goblin smiled and charged towards me with whatever strength it had left.
Initially, I was startled, but due to the goblin being severely injured, I was quickly able to recover and used Draw to finish it off.
-Puchi!
-5
Aghhhhhh!
With regret in its eyes, the goblin perished.

Congratulation, you are now level 10! The job advancement quest is now available. Congratulations, due to Adventurer having your first quest, the quest setting is now unlocked!
I completely ignored the system and looked at the goblin. After a couple of seconds, I started to walk away.
'The law of the jungle... I'm going to have to be more careful in this world. If this wasn't a goblin, but another adventurer or monster around the same strength as me, I would've been a goner,'
After a while of not being able to find any monsters, it became dark outside.
"I think it's time to settle down,"
I gathered some wood and somehow created a fire using methods I saw in shows. It wasn't a bad feeling. No mosquitoes came to bite me and so far there were no monsters that were attracted by the fire.
Growl!
My stomach started to ache from the hunger.
"Alright, let's eat that rabbit I caught earlier,"
I took out the rabbit and like Navi said, it was exactly the same as it was when I killed it. I started to prepare and once that was done, I started to grill it.
My grilling skills were not the best so there were some burnt parts here and there, but in the end, the rabbit was delicious so I was satisfied.
"Alright, since I'm not hungry anymore, let's take a look at that job advancement quest,"
I remembered that the quest setting was unlocked so I quickly went to it. In the quest settings, there was only 1 quest which on the left said "Job Advancement".
I clicked on it and immediately a description came up.
Job Advancement Quest
Requirement: Level 10
You have leveled up quite a bit. As you have slowly started to adapt to this world, you need a challenge. Kill the Demon of the Forest and take out its heart.
Kill the Demon of the Forest: 0/1
Demon of the Forest's Heart: 0/1
'Demon of the Forest sounds like a name given to bear or something like that,' I thought to myself. 'Hopefully, it's not a bear so I don't panic,'
I put away all those thoughts and started to create a makeshift bed using leaves and twigs. Later, I put out the fire and finally slept the first day in the other world.

When Alden takes possession of a cursed sword promising untold power, the hunter is determined to save his people by slaying every giant monster standing between him and the throne. But the angry ghost trapped inside the blade has other ideas. Buckle up for the brutal LitRPG ride of a lifetime Savage Hunters is an alternate-world neolothic fantasy. Characters grow their powers with explicit stat blocks presented right in the text, including levels, attribute scores, and unlockable skill trees. Experience is accumulated by battling enormous monsters the size of buildings. Political intrigue and romance elements ramp up as the series progresses. I originally wrote this story after playing Monster Hunter with my niece. She was 12 at the time, already an avid reader, and wanted to read my other published books. I'm a licensed psychotherapist specializing in severe trauma so I tend toward darker fiction. I told her my usual books are too brutal for her but I'd write her something special. The result was this series, which has been praised by both teens and adults for its depth and universal appeal. It begins with an emphasis on cultural elements because I consulted with a trained anthropologist to craft this neolithic setting down to exacting social detail. After these opening chapters, it rapidly shifts to an action-packed adventure. The first 3 books are fully written as of November 2020, totalling approximately 69 chapters. The first book has been professionally edited already. The following two books require some editing which I'll do on a chapter-by-chapter basis as releases progress. I welcome reviews and comments. Writing is a passion, and reader engagement makes my labor all the sweeter.
