《My Story in the Otherworld》Chapter 23

When Julian accepted the deal, he seemed to have aged 10 years. As a Viscount's attack is still terrifying regardless of how weak the Viscount is, offending him for a 50-50 chance of winning was simply a stupid deal. However, since he chose to think with his lower half, I simply stayed quiet and decided to try my best to defeat him.
"Alright, if you're ready to battle, then please follow me," Lyka went inside the mansion and Julian and I followed. I looked back to see one of the soldier following us to be stopped by the other soldier after pointing to Varin.
When Julian and I arrived at the arena where I fought Davis, Julian suddenly turned to me.
"After I win this thing, I forbid you from coming close to Lyka. If I see you even remotely close to her, I will kill you on the spot," He said with clear murderous intent.
"Hmph, try to say that when you actually win," I said with a cold tone. He's already thinking he's gonna win? This feels like a déjà vu.
We both got on the stage and the notification rang in my head.
Adventurer is now protected by the Coliseum Protection Magic Formation. When hit by a lethal attack, you are transported out of the magic formation. All injuries become nonexistent as well after you leave the stage.
Julian unsheathed his sword and quietly chanted. His armor started to glow. Then he stopped and started to chant some more. Now his sword started to glow as well. After finishing all the buffs, he wanted to put on, he positioned himself. I also got into position and we both knew that the match has officially started.
It was a tense standoff. Both of us were moving side to side to find an opening to strike. However, both of us did not move and the atmosphere was getting tenser by the second. In the end, I quickly removed my hand from my Katana and used Kamaitachi and shot 5 windblades to surprise him. In seconds, all 5 reached Julian and he immediately blocked it with his sword. However, a couple of seconds were enough. I rushed in and used Draw II to surprise Julian even more.

It seems that Julian did not expect another wind blade to come out and his armor got hit. The glow dimmed and seeing this, Julian looked at me angrily before charging at me.
He lifted his sword and swung down. I noticed that the sword got brighter and it seemed that Royal Strike added another bonus attack points as well. I immediately used Harai Waza allowing me to slash at Julian's eyes.
Puchi!

Julian's left eyes shut while blood was spurting out of it and I could see the veins popping on his temple. Julian screamed with murderous intent and suddenly, he started to grow. His muscles, height, and everything about him just grew and after a couple of seconds, he seemed to be a couple of inches taller than me. He charged towards me with even faster speed than before and swung down his sword with even greater force. When I looked at the power of his swing, I realized I could not block it.
I immediately dodged to the sides and used Elemental Tornado to get out a Lightning Tornado. I saw a hint of shock in Julian's eyes and due to him fiercely charging at me, he could not dodge it.
Zzzzzzzzzt!

He got hit and his body started to convulse. After a couple of seconds, he fell down and could not get up. His body became a mass of lights and he was taken off the stage.

Only Villains Do That
While waiting on an Akihabara train platform one day, ordinary high schooler Yoshi Shinonome was suddenly plucked from his normal life in Japan and whisked away by a beautiful goddess to Ephemera, a world of magic and adventure, to serve as her Hero and drive back the evil Dark Lord. This is not his story. Standing nearby at the moment Yoshi was isekai'd was a man named Seiji - a rude, cranky, misanthropic musician who was not at all pleased to find himself also snatched up and transported to Ephemera by the goddess's wicked sister, Virya. According to this self-proclaimed Goddess of Evil, the whole fantasy adventure thing was a game she and her sister played to stave off the boredom of immortality, and since the good goddess, Sanora, had picked her Hero...well, Virya needed a Dark Lord. A grown man with his own career and ambitions, Seiji has no interest in playing. Unfortunately for him, the call to adventure was not a request. Now, he must conquer Ephemera and defeat the Hero...or Virya promises to make him beg for the release of death before granting it. Playing along for his own survival, Seiji nonetheless is under no illusions who his true enemy is, and it's not the naive young would-be Hero from his own world. Placed in an impossible position, Seiji must make enough progress toward world domination to keep his sadistic patron goddess off his back, but not so much that he can't strike an accord with the forces of Good and convince the Hero Yoshi that it's the goddesses who are their mutual enemy. Forced to embrace Evil without being too evil, Seiji walks the razor's edge, building his forces and biding his time till he can get revenge on the goddesses and be free of them, his only certainty that he will not be getting out of this with his hands clean. A Dark Lord's gotta do what a Dark Lord's gotta do. Updates Tuesday and Friday. Most Patreon tiers get to read one chapter in advance of the public release!
