《My Story in the Otherworld》Chapter 16

I look up to see who that arrogant voice was and it was a blond guy accompanied by 2 burly black-haired men who look like those generic body guards wearing sunglasses in animes, but with a lot more scars and a leather outfit which made me laugh a little.
"What the fuck are you laughing at?" The blond guy started to scream. His eyes were turning red and I could almost see fumes coming out of his ears.
"Nothing good sir, so who could you be noble sir,"
"Hmph," said the arrogant blond guy with a proud expression that makes people want to punch him. "I'll answer since you are dying to know me you filthy peasant. My name is Varin Calleem, the son of Viscount Hughes Calleem, the governor of Calleem Town,"
"So what business do you have with me, noble Varin?" I said in a sarcastic tone.
"Hmph," Varin did not notice my sarcastic tone and seemed to have heard it as me saying that I'm inferior. "This is going to be my first and final warning to you, you peasant. Stay away from my fiancée!"
"Fiancée? Who's your fiancée?" I asked.
"Do you want to die?! Obviously, I'm talking about Lyka Wintercolt, the daughter of Duke Wintercolt!"
"Lyka? She's your fiancée?!"
"Hmph, yes, you uncultured swine. Now that you know that she is someone else's woman, stay away from her at once,"
Before I said anything, Amania came out with my items and I received it and gave her 400 gold for everything.
I put my stuff in the Item Box and before I left, I looked at Varin.
"Although, you calling me swine and filthy peasant were quite annoying, I'll forgive you this time. However, let me just clarify something. I do not have any romantic interests towards Lyka. While she is beautiful and has a great vibrant personality, I am someone who loves to travel and my interest towards traveling the world is much more important than a woman no matter how great she is. Also, since I'm feeling nice today, let me warn you. I may spare you today and many others would spare you as well, but insulting anyone you want because your daddy and mommy has a bit of money and influence will kill you because let me tell you this. There are people much powerful than your Viscount Dad and people much more powerful than even the King himself. Don't be so arrogant you brat!" I said with a stern tone. Reading all these light novels with arrogant nobles made me always want to scold one.

"You... You..." Varin could not let out anything besides 'you'.
"You what?" I said smugly before I left the Merchant Guild.
Behind me, I heard Varin screaming in rage.
I smiled and I used Conceal Presence once again.
I arrived at the Duke's house and sneakily went up to my room and took out my Katana and the 4 items needed to upgrade it.
I was expecting everything to go smoothly like the other time, but life never goes according to plan. When I took out Belphegor's soul, it immediately started flying and started to consume the magic inside the room.
SST!
The lights started to flicker and after a couple of seconds of shock, I finally snapped out of it. I immediately grabbed towards Belphegor's soul and with a bit of struggle put it back into the Item Box. As soon as it disappeared, the room seemed normal again and I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Navi, what happened?!" I asked Navi a bit angrily due to the fact that it never warned me about this.
"Jeffrey, it is common sense in any world that souls are still "living". They just simply do not have a physical body. As long as they are powerful enough, they can use magic and also even suck magic in the atmosphere to regain their power. If they have enough magic, they can form a physical body as long as they know the method to do so," Navi appeared and said indifferently ignoring the fact that I was still annoyed.
"Tch, you should have told me about this kind of stuff sooner since you are my guide for this world," I muttered.
"Jeffrey, these kinds of things are for you to find out by yourself. I am merely a guide to help you live in the world. If I help you with these kinds of things, would you expect me to defeat all the Demon Generals for you and then fight the Demon God for you as well. Then there's no point in you being summoned here rather me that should be the hero," Navi rebuked. I have honestly never heard it be so angry before. It would just answer me perfunctorily, but I guess I triggered quite a bit with my rambling.

However, that was not enough for me to apologize. I still think I'm right and Navi should have told me about these kinds of things beforehand since the system was the one who stored the soul in my Item Box anyways.
"Well, now that I know that souls can suck magic out of its environment, how can I subdue it?"
Navi stayed silent for a while, obviously an attempt to annoy me, but in the end, it answered me.
"You have to defeat it using magic. Just use Kamaitachi and you could kill it after a couple of shots,"
"Alright,"
Navi disappeared with a poof and I took out Belphegor's soul. Since it was an enemy, I took a look at its stats and was relieved, but shocked at the same time.
Belphegor's Soul: Level 65 (Levels up from sucking the magic around it)
HP: 2000/2000
Attack: 10
Defense: 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
Magic Defense: 0
Speed: 10
Skills: Suck
Experience Given when defeated: 1500*30=45,000
The soul of Belphegor. Use MAGIC not physical attacks of any kind.
While that ridiculous defense really did shock me, the Magic Defense, Attack, and Speed almost made me laugh out loud. Belphegor started to suck the magic in the atmosphere again and I used Kamaitachi.
I was thinking that it would do a significant amount of damage, but alas life hates me. When the wind blade approached Belphegor's soul, it absorbed the wind blade while sucking the magic in the room.
"Fuck!"
Like before, I grabbed it and put it back into the Item Box. However, I did not call Navi nor did I took it out again. I realized that if Belphegor sucked the magic out of the room again, the room was going to collapse. I just put everything away and decided to sleep.

A reckless ritual connected him to a well of knowledge, driving him insane and immortal, causing him to be treated as a commodity in the supernatural community, an Oracle. 2019 A.D, its been 1712 years, and the lusitanian has ended up in the other side of the world in less than wholesome hands, a place which may have answers about the mysteries of his abilities, when an unexpected event cuts the connection and his sanity and mortality return. Gaius Atiius Quadratus will not forget this kindness. The MC is based on the monk class of many rpgs, but the story isn't Litrpg. Also he will gain non monk abilities after a while. Fair warning I don't understand the rating system but I'll say M-rated just in case. This is my first story, I accept criticism but I would like the critic to explain the reasoning behind it. Also I'm still figuring how this site works and I have no schedule so updates may be sporadic, at least once a week. Not a native speaker but in the practices, too lazy to actually get the diploma, I got an average of 9.7 out of 10 at the Cambridge C1 level, the CAE, second highest european level for foreign languages, so it should be no problem. A train of thought compendium.I have them every now and then. Or to be more accurate, they have me. One offs. Shorts. Tales. Parables. Fables. And other weird things. This line has no schedule. No track number. No set destination. Sometimes it's an El. At other times, a space shuttle, taxi, caravan or fast moving treadmill. And every now and then it's a subway passing through underground caverns, littered with cobwebs. These sporadic ideas pop into my head at the weirdest of times. Some end in the middle. Some end with a fizzle. Some end with a bang.
8 186The Impact and The Invocation
When the remnants of a war that both sides lost are discovered in a small village, one young woman with the blood of a magus will trigger the return of the demons that hunted humanity in its distant past.
