Moments went by with both Cherie and Jonathan looking on as Revan was by Jocelyn’s side, still sleeping. Then suddenly, Jocelyn wakes up violently, kicking and screaming while crawling out of the hot tub and onto the floor. Hyperventilating and crying at the same time, she tries to regain her surroundings. She was in the same basement she took a nap in. But she experienced was a violent, horrible dream, or was it?

“Counselor, it’s okay! It’s over! You’re okay!” Jonathan comforts Jocelyn, hugging her tightly.

Such comfort would not be returned in kind as Jocelyn shows Jonathan away and lunges after a kneeling Revan who wanted to help her up.

“YOU BITCH, I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO GET ME OUT OF IT!” Jocelyn outbursts.

“J.J., what happened?!” Cherie urged as she tried to calm Jocelyn down.

In a panic-induced rage, Jocelyn tried to make it all makes sense, “I… YOU MADE RELIVE THAT SHIT FOR HOURS, YOU INSUFFERABLE--!”

“Hours?! You are you talking about, Counselor? It has only been less than a minute…” Revan corrected.

Trying to find some clarity into what just happened, she couldn’t believe it herself. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she starts to shiver from the cold air and the dampness of her heavy clothing, “Y-you mean, I was… He was…”

Cherie became visibly upset seeing her good friend go through such a raw experience, “J.J., what did you dream of--?”

“No! No, get away from me…” Jocelyn avoiding the issue as she staggers to the bathroom, locking the door behind her.

“J.J., don’t run!” Jonathan pleaded as Jocelyn ignored him. He then turned his anger and frustration on the same woman who tried to help her confront her past, “I hope you’re fucking happy with yourself!”

“Lover’s blind spot, that’s common in wolf kemonomimi. Especially, the submissive type,” Revan smugly analyzed.

“Fuck you…” Jonathan lashed out.

“Detective, change your tone,” Cherie defended.

“No, fuck this! You just had to break her!” Jonathan ignored as Cherie approached him, face-to-face.

“Change your tone, detective,” she repeated with conviction. Jonathan shook his head and step back from Cherie as he turned his back on both of them.

Revan did see everything that Jocelyn was dreaming about. However, it wasn’t a dream nor a nightmare. Jocelyn was reliving something very horrific from her past that she buried for a very long time. As Lady Memento, she would’ve used such information for interrogation purposes. But she is no longer a “reminder of God” anymore and merely a psychologist helping a patient.

To her best knowledge, she blurred the lines between professionalism and vigilantism by analyzing what she has discovered with the group, “You are smart enough as it is, detective, realizing that she has a bevy of problems stemming from what happened in London. Now, did it ever occur to you that along the way might have suffered emotional trauma afterward? Even before London, but here in New York on her becoming such a rising star in the DA’s office. On how even many lobbyists wouldn’t even fund her campaign because even they thought her policies were borderline racist? Yet somehow, she managed to fundraise $15 million in one week? And I guess everyone overlooked her finances since she can rent a $7,000 penthouse with a civil salary so easily…”

Even now, Jonathan couldn’t be professional and also tried to take things into a different perspective when it comes to the woman that he loves. He was so blinded by it, he didn’t realize just how corrupted and broken she really was. Instead, he was still the lovesick wolf cub who would do anything for her.

Jonathan approached Revan, “What did you see, Revan?”

Fed up with his changing priorities, she didn’t even bother humoring him, “You can’t be this ignorant…”

“I want to know, Revan!” Jonathan threatened.

“I KNOW ALL OF THIS WITHOUT EVEN TRYING AND YOU DON’T?! YOU BEING A DETECTIVE IN ONE THE BEST LAW ENFORCEMENT OUTFITS IN THE COUNTRY, YOU CAN’T PUT IT TOGETHER? WAKE UP!” Revan demanded as Cherie gotten between the two of them and pull them apart.

Suddenly, Jocelyn emerged from the bathroom. Shaking and staggering, she walked towards the bench. Jonathan being the “good boyfriend” rushed to her side as he helped her sit down on one of the stools. Seeing this puppy love, kind of made Revan nauseous on how ignorant and oblivious Jonathan is to the situation. Revan walked over to the bench, grabbed one of the towels and handed it to Jocelyn. Comically to Revan, Jonathan snatched it from her and began to dry off Jocelyn.

Taking a few deep breaths, Jocelyn raised her head up and faced Revan with tears in her eyes, “I… I am ready to talk now…” She stammered.

Revan nodded in approval, “Where would you like to begin?”

Note to self: never in your life piss off Revan Zayne, Cherie thought as she was eerily silent from beginning to finish as a spectator. Usually, she would intervene more so than most. Yet, Jonathan did all of the hard work for her. She was going to find out what happened to her friend and her inspiration to become a Crucis Sentinel.
