《Riches of the Heavenly Kingdom (A Grant Foreman Adventure)》Chapter 2: Office Hours

The morning after the fight at the cafeteria, Grant decided to pay a visit to the history department. It was one of the older building on campus, faded red brick exterior and floors and sickly yellow floors on the inside.

Professor Florus was the expert on East-Asian history at Trioli University. His classes were said to be quite exciting with the professor often bringing artifacts to class for show.

Grant knocked on the professor's door, to which a voice form within said, "Come one in!"

Grant sat down at the sofa across from the professor's desk.

"I don't think your in any of my classes," said the professor, eyeing Grant quizzically.

"Well I was last year but I sat in the back," said Grant. "Which wasn't on purpose sir its just most of the seats up front were taken by the time I got to class every time. Names Grant by the way."

"Sure sure, now how can I help you Grant?"

Grant told the professor about Frankie's presentation and his wild theory on the Taiping treasure.

"Well your classmate's presentation was quite accurate, but as for this treasure of his it seems to be just pure speculation. There isn't any record or hard evidence of Taiping treasure being moved to the Philippines or any other country and province. Sure, the Taiping had their own form of currency but only few pieces were made of silver or gold due to the scarcity of resources. They didn't trade with anyone since they weren't acknowledged as a sovereign state. Now yes the Taiping rebels that escape may have taken valuables with them but these would be spread out across all China and likely lost to history. Over time one might find trinkets springing up here and there but I don't think its worth pursuing this....heap of treasure that implies to exist. I'm sorry if that disappoints you."

Grant sighed. "Well I thought it was worth asking anyways. Thank you for your time."

"The Chinese don't view the Taiping in a positive light," said the professor, getting up to shake Grant's hand. "Though some of the Taiping's reforms and ideals inspired communism in China, the Taiping Rebellion left China a bad impression of Christianity. If you want to read about it feel free to borrow the books I have on the subject. The school library should have some as well."

"Thank you professor. Maybe I'll try the library," said Grant with a smile.

Grant headed to the library and found a few books that he thought might be worth looking into. One was on Christianity of China and another on the Taiping Rebellion specifically. The most promising looking book was titled, Treasures of China, however a quick flip through revealed that the book was mostly on jade jewelry pieces worn by those of nobility through the ages.

Grant spent some time reading through the books in the library basement was peace and quiet was a guaranteed on pretty much any given day. After an hour of studying and intrigue Grant decided to take a leak and get some water. The basement got stuffy sometimes and he needed to stretch his legs.

He turned the corner with the restroom sign above and walked through the little lounge area just outside the restrooms. There was a couple arguing by the drinking fountain installed between the two restroom doors. To his surprise it was the student he beat up in the cafeteria the day before and his pseudo girlfriend.

"Look Tim, your not the worst guy but you kind of embarrassed me at the caf yesterday."

"Is that why your ignoring my messages? I was protecting you from that fat kid who was staring right at your ass!"

"Ok well after he apologized you started to escalate."

Grant got up closer and raised his hand. "Hey can you guys move so I can get some water?"

Time whipped his head around and his eyes went big. "Well well what a terrific coincidence. This really is my week isn't it?"

Grant sighed. "I just want some water. Also lay off her, she has every reason to be upset alright? Listen let me buy you a frozen yogurt or something."

"Fuck froyo," Tim snapped, facing him. "You think your all that, barging into peoples' business and ruining their day with no shits given huh?"

"It was not my intention to ruin your day," said Grant, getting impatient and frustrated. "Can I get some water now?"

Tim's wild punch was so sloppy in form and so heavily telegraphed that Grant practically saw it coming since last year. Grant effortlessly blocked with his forearm and straight punched Tim right in the nose, the bone breaking on impact.

"God damn!" Time screeched.

Grant kicked the restroom door open and kicked Tim in to prevent his howled of pain from disturbing the quiet of the library's lower level.

"Thanks," said the girl. She was wearing running shorts and a pink tank top. "Name's Abigail by the way."

"Next time just walk away from him," said Grant. "He''ll probably be choleric for the next few days but the steam will blow of eventually. Damn, I wanted to use the restroom too."

"Why don't you just come in here with me?" Abigail asked sweetly, motioning towards the women's restroom.

"The women's restroom is for women," said Grant, giving her a straight face.

Abigail checked inside. "No one is in there and hardly anyone comes down here to study. Most people like to study on the upper levels."

"I am not a woman," said Grant. "I cannot go into the women's restroom. Does that compute?"

Abigail glanced to the right. A little further past the restrooms and art the end of the short hallway was another door which was partly open. It was labeled as the custodian supply closet.

"Look can I get some water and take a leak first?" said Grant, making his tone desperate. "This was supposed to be any ole trip to the restroom."

Abigail nodded and Grant drank his fill before walking into the restroom. Tim jumped into the air at the sink when he saw Grant's reflection in the mirror.

"I had enough stop!" Tim wailed.

Grant ignored him and emptied his bladder into the urinal. "Just ignore me the next time we see each other ok?"

"Yeah yeah ok," said Tim, continuing to check on his nose in the mirror. "I guess I was an asshole but I really liked her. Your friend ruined it for me."

"I'm sorry too," said Grant, zipping his pants and walking over to the sink. "But hey, between you and me, I don't think she's a keeper. I mean she asked for my number right after I beat you up yesterday."

"What the fuck really?" Tim exclaimed.

Grant raised and eyebrow as he scrubbed his hands under the warm water. "Dude I'm guessing you only like her cause she was....hot, for lack of a better word."

"My mistake," Tim sighed. "Thanks for your honesty man. I wish I could fight like you."

"I would rather not have to fight at all," said Grant smiling. "Hey but really let me buy you some froyo ok?"

Tim began to cry a little. "Shit man your a real swell guy you know that? I actually love froyo."

Grant patted Tim on the back and exchanged numbers with him. Tim left after his nose stopped bleeding. When Grant came out a moment later, he was surprised to find Abigail still standing by the drinking fountain.

"Did you seriously just wait outside the men's room for me to finish my leak?"

Abigail fidgeted on the spot. "Well I mean that's what I said right?"

Before he knew it they were both in the custodian supply closet with the door closed. Grant sat himself on a chair under a shelf full of detergent. Abigail was sitting on his lap, her lips on his and the tips of their tongues dancing. The girl's top has come off the moment Grant had closed the door and her curvy breasts could be felt through his shirt.

Grant smelled her ponytail of blonde hair as he massaged her breast. Soon after he was rubbing his cock on her bottom while her hand flattened on the wall in front for support. When it was done, Abigail admired his well built form as he cleaned himself up. She took a selfie of her bare torso before reaching for her shorts.

"For you," she said, handing Grant her pink panties as he got dressed. She emailed him the selfie she took as well using her phone.

"Are you sure you don't want my number too?" Abigail asked. By her tone Grant could tell she thought something was wrong.

"No I don't," said Grant flatly. "I had a good time but we wouldn't make a good couple I can tell."

"Ah well if you ever go jogging on the track I'm their at 6 in the morning almost everyday. Maybe we could go jogging together."

Gran pocketed the memento from her and smiled. "Maybe I'll take you up on that sometime."
