《Cross Roads: The Monsters Among Us (Book One)》Chapter 11

While three of the Nether Elite tried desperately to accomplish the primary objective, Jacob was still outside the building and nervously pacing around the golf cart. Too much great relief, the backup was coming. About four cop cars, all of them from the Metropolitan Police. However, his relief will turn into dread as he saw both Samantha and the “little bitch” he ran into yesterday.
Samantha immediately sprinted over to Jacob, but the Aethereal Queen took her time.
“What is going on here?” Samantha demanded.
“Samantha, I am surprised you got the little Queen with you,” Jacob said as he was very proud of himself now.
“Why is everybody here? Our men should be all over campus,” Samantha specified.
“We just received a tip! The monster is in the building. Silvestri and the others are taking care of it,” Jacob proudly reported.
“Well, I don’t know how. The Metropolitan police just received a silent alarm. A suspected 8-foot beast had broken into a chemistry lab on the western campus,” Lycka corrected.
“What? ” Jacob was shocked.
“Let’s just say, I flew a few camera drones out tonight and picked up the footage. My people are regrouping and headed to the crime scene right now,” Lycka bashfully admitted.
“If you want to know why the police are here, that’s why. You got a bunch of amateurs running around here playing grab ass with God only knows,” Samantha lambasted as the sounds of supposed gunfire could be heard inside the building.
“Well, someone’s in there, Samantha,” Jacob tried to defend. Samantha didn't have it. Jacob fucked up, and she will make them accountable for it.
“Call off your attack dogs, Jake. They got the wrong person,” Samantha demanded.
On her smartphone, the Aethereal Queen had texted Beta Crucis just to see how she was doing in there; “What are you doing in there?”

She sent the message, and five seconds later, Beta Crucis responded. “dealing with the werewolf’s mistresses?”
This made the Aethereal Queen laugh, knowing she had the situation under control. “Selena and the ladies found something at the western campus. You interested?”
Then immediately responded with another, “okay, I already left the building about a minute ago.”
Back in the auditorium, Natalia was still in severe pain. She couldn’t speak without splitting the cut open even more extensive. This was way too much for them to handle. They had to leave the auditorium.
Standing your ground was one thing, but retreating was another. On her own two feet, Natalia staggered her way towards the exit with the help of Ryoko. Kayla decided to lead the way, making sure there is a clear path on the way out. Natalia still being wary about the situation, always trying to make herself useful by looking around, seeing if the monster still there. Sadly, she was still out of it.
Generally making matters worse, being both aggressive and paranoid didn’t help matters either. She even assumed there was a monster perched on one of the pipes of the ceiling. She conjured up enough electricity in her hand and threw a ball of electricity only hitting and severing the copper ceiling pipes.
Kayla turned around and took notice of this while still walking towards the exit. It would be a big mistake as she tripped on a snare trap, twisting her ankle 270° and breaking it into pieces. She immediately fell to the ground, writhing in pain. As it was pitch dark, she didn’t know what it was. In reality, it was some sort of piano wire digging into her skin and tearing into her own flesh. But what she did know that it was snagging on her left ankle.

After firing the misused shot, Natalia collapsed to the ground in pain. Ryoko wasted no time picking up Natalia and rushing herself over to Kayla. With her strength and sharp fingernails, Ryoko cut Kayla loose. Feeling somewhat relieved, she was still in pain.
That relief will be temporary as the three of them smelled natural gas in the air. She came to the realization that the copper pipe Natalia struck was a gas pipe and it was spewing out natural gas like a running faucet. What made matters worse is that Ryoko spotted a makeshift air-conditioner that clicks on and off when she got into the room.
They had to leave immediately. No time for tenderness and care. Ryoko carried Kayla up from the ground and dragged Natalia by the arm. They finally made their way out of the auditorium together. This was a scene to behold as Jacob, Samantha, and the police were watching three wolf girls shuffling out of the entrance of the auditorium.
Ryoko glossed over the crowd and tried to warn everyone, “GO! YOU GOTTA GET OUT AWAY FROM HERE! NOW! THE WHOLE PLACE IS GONNA BLO--!”
The bizarre scene would follow up with an explosion behind them. The auditorium was engulfed in flames as debris flew across campus. The impact of the blast sent Ryoko, Natalia, and Kayla off their feet as they rolled down the flight of stairs onto the sidewalk.
Everyone took shelter behind their cop cars as even they didn’t stand a chance of the fiery debris that was being pelted. Trees caught on fire the lawns, and the park tables were destroyed, and an 80-year-old auditorium was eradicated by these three wolf girls.
Natalia was still semi-conscious, as Kayla and Ryoko were knocked out cold. Didn’t really help matters much for Ryoko as she suffered a cut above her left eye and a separated shoulder.
As the auditorium being engulfed in flames and the flying debris subsided, Jacob immediately went over to the women who were on the ground writhing in pain.
He was at a loss for words, but he can only do what is necessary to make them feel somewhat comfortable when help arrives, “stay strong, kids! Help is on the way. You ladies, just hang in there!”
Meanwhile 50 yards away from the smoldering wreckage, Ayeka was watching the carnage unfolding right before our eyes. She wasn’t sad or angry, she was disgusted. All she did was shake her head and walk away from the scene.
