《Fox Squadron》Chapter 5 - Orin

"God fuk…..!" The rest of Orin's words were cut off by a pair of compressed energy bolts hitting the bulkhead he was currently taking cover behind. Immediately afterward he and Michael replied to said bolts with a pair of thin beams from their phaser pistols. On the other side of the short corridor the two green scaled Gravarin bounty hunters ducked back into cover. A little ways past them the Frayin women and her two daughters were tied up on the floor throwing some rather colorful chides and insults at their captors. Just behind them was an insectoid looking race that Micheal had called an Istek was trying to override the airlock without much success.
“So how long do you think this is going to last?” Michael took a moment to think as two more bolts came down the corridor. His ears twitched just before he answered. “I would say about twelve more seconds.”
“And what makes you think that?” Before he could even get an answer the sound of a phaser came from the other end of the corridor. He and Michael turned the corner just in time to see Tali drop down, from the newly made hole in the vent to land next to one of the Gravarins. She then steadied her pistol and put a long burst of stun energy into it. The second Gravarin immediately leveled it's rifle at her back only for a thin beam of energy to cut through the ceiling and put a neat little hole into said rifle. After a second it decided to use the disabled rifle as a club and charged at Tali’s back. It made it a full two steps before Orin and Michael hit it with a pair of phaser beams.
As soon as they moved down the corridor with their weapons trained on the two Gravarins just in case they weren't really down. As they reached them Tiara popped her head out from the new hole in the air duct. "All right. So I officially love these things." She said with a smile while showing off her pistol.

"So how did you two get permission to cut a hole in the vet?" Orin asked as he untied the three Frayin girls. There was a long and very noticeable pause before Michael turned back to Tiara, who was half hanging out of the vent. "You did get permission right." Tiara stopped and stared at us. "Define permission." One collective facepalm later we decided we should probably secure the bounty hunters before they woke up.
After releasing the very appreciative captives they settled in to wait for the ever slow Station Security. When they arrived with Lieutenant Colson. "What did you four idiots do this time?" Colson didn't look happy. And that is how a thirty minute lecture started on protocol and how our job was to mediate and not chase down heavily armed criminals. There was also a part about not destroying station systems and when none of Station Security could hear, a good job. Afterwards we were given the rest of the day off.
Two hours later Orin, Eric and Michael entered the section's common area. A large four story area with various shops, it was also where the liaison office was. "Come on now it will be fun. You guys have been here a full week and we still haven't gone out to pick up girls." The two didn't look all that convinced. "Orin you know it's traditionally Frayin girls that take the lead in that department." Orin looked back to Michael. " So you're saying that men never make advances on women?."
"I think he has you on that one Michael. Though I also think it didn't quite translate correctly." He knew Eric would be on his side. "Fine but we should drop by the Temple before we go make fools of ourselves."
The temple was a small free standing hexagonal shaped structure in the center of the common area. The bulk of the structure was made from a Frayin wood called Stiren with its one opening facing the Liaisonoffice. The rest of the structure looked like standard deck plating and had various plants hung from it.

Despite having been on station for two weeks longer than Eric and Michael, Orin hadn't been inside the temple, mostly because he wasn't sure if non Frayins were allowed. The inside had even more plants as well as four modest shrines, one to each of the four elements. The air and water shrines were close to the door while the earth and fire shrines were placed towards the back.
There was currently only a single priestess in the temple. She was a short little thing with brown blonde fur and shoulder length brown hair. Her clothes looked less like ceremonial robes and more like something you might make on a deserted island. She gave a little smile before approaching and giving Michael a short bow. "Welcome your Majesty. Is there Anything I can help you with?" The little priestess put quite the emphasis on the word anything. Michael gave a half panicked answer, while Eric took a half step back. "N-no we are just here to pay respects." They then slid past her and to the shrines. The priestess stayed there looking Orin up and down with a Cheshire Cat grin.
Five minutes later as they were leaving the temple Orin could finally ask the question that had been bugging him. "So what the hell was that all about?" Eric and Michael looked at each other for a moment then answered in unison. "Air Priestess." Eric must have taken his confused expression as a sign to elaborate. "The Air Spirit governs the aspects of love, fertility and creating life. It's said that spending an evening with an Air Priestess will insure that the next time you have children a male will be born." Orin froze. "Of course they also say that if one blesses you while in the presence of a member of the Royal family you will find your life partner within the next day." Michael gave a shrug at Eric's statement. "I suppose we will find out if that's true. She gave us a blessing before we left."
"We have absolutely nothing like that on Mars." The two Frayins looked back at him confused. "I thought you were from the Terrain colonies?" Michael's question caught Orin a little off guard. "I am Mars was the first colony." They looked like they were about to say something but decided not to.
After grabbing some food from a local shop they went looking for a place to eat. Orin quickly found the perfect table. Tiara was sitting there with four other girls, one of whom was human. He led the charge to the girls. "You mind if we join you ladies." He said giving his best charming smile. The human girl and two of the Frayin girls immediately started giggling. Tiara for her part had a look of wait you don't know what you're doing. As it turns out he didn't.
One of the girls who had scarlet colored hair and fur turned to face us and we all froze. She had the most brilliant scarlet eyes. She was absolutely stunning. Next to her was a similarly beautiful girl who looked like a younger version of the first girl. It was at that moment that Eric unfroze and snapped to attention which seemed to warrant another round of giggles from the girls. Michael took a deep breath. "You must be my sister's, Mia and Melissa."
