《Chaos Paradox》CHAPTER 11: THE HUNTER PART 2

Stepping from the cavern was an albino looking dog.

It had the head of a dog and the body of a Russian bodybuilder. His arms, overly muscular and pale white with deep black claws at their tips to contrast.

As the Adlet stepped out and looked left and right at the bodies of the dead wolves it roared even louder.

He looked around only to see us encircled by black tentacles dancing with dead dried up wolves encircling.

In a split second the Adlet stepped off, and before the tentacles could react he appeared inside the ring of darkness tentacles.

With a swipe of his claws white lightning illuminated the circle while I had my sword ready to intercept the attack, the sheer strength of the attack blasted me and two other men directly behind me outside of the ring of darkness as we skipped like rocks.

“Servant classed my ass, this is at least an Elite class creature.”

I said while I dusted myself off to re-enter the fight.

Freya’s darkness grip was too slow to reach the Adlet so with each swing of his black claws Merrik intercepted and fired raw mana blasts from the end of his blade.

The Adlet countered by sending a pulse of electricity towards Merrik, surprised by the sudden blast Merrik was thrown outside the ring as he landed right beside me.

We exchanged glances and rushed towards the beast once more,

“Gravity chains - release!”

My speed and strength increased as my muscles expanded and my body released a burst of heat. In an instant I closed the gap and blocked the downward swing of his claws that were inches away from Freya’s face.

She rolled back and pointed with her index finger and chanted

“Black bullet!”

and with that a blast of darkness energy erupted from her fingertips.

I had to move from infront of her quickly but by the time the wolf saw the attack it was already too close to dodge.

Before the dense ball of darkness could connect with the Adlet it roared savagely. With a ghostly wail the blast of darkness met with a sound wave at point blank range and was destroyed.

The sound wave still had enough power to blast her away a few feet.

The Adlet had a sly smirk as he watched her body skip away. his glory was cut short when he was forced to jump back to dodge the rocks that fell in his direction.

To the Adlet’s surprise the rocks fell with enough force to cause craters in the ground.

Before the Adlet could look over towards me Merrik was already inches away swinging his oversized flaming broadsword.

The Adlet with a hand covered in white electric current grabbed his sword and smirked as he sent a powerful wave of electric city through the blade, leaving Merrik paralzyed and pinned on the forest floor.

The Adlet’s claw was smoking but in an instant its minor regenerative ability kicked in and healed the minor burns to its tough claws.

With its claws raised and ready to slash the paralized Merrik the Adlet slammed it’s claws down. However, mid-slam, the Adlet had to jump back to dodge the barrage of arrows thrown by Freya's soldiers.

The Adlet was visibly annoyed by their interference. He pounced towards them but instead was greeted by a barrage of Freya’s black bullets.

Instead of running away, the Adlet upped his dash speed and dodged the bullets to appear directly in front of Freya.

He swung his claw once more.

“Diving Phoenix!”

It was a high level fire paladin move, one that Merrik had only recently started practicing after he read about it in one of the library's duplicate books. So it’s power nor speed was nowhere near what it should have been.

But the move was good enough to catch the Adlet by surprise.

The flaming body of Merrik landed between the Adlet and Freya. He claw was chopped clean off and flew in a separate direction.

“Damn, looks like I missed by a lot.”

Merrik was disheartened when he realised he did not land directly on the Adlet and cut him right through. What Merrik missed due to his flaming state was that the Adlet had moved a few inches back to evade the brunt of the attack.

With both his prey so close, the Adlet felt proud to be putting them in such a close bind. Then he felt a primordial sixth sense scream.

Before the Adlet could turn around and look for the next little runt he felt a cold feeling. When he looked down he saw a hand, covered in blood and inside the hand was a still beating heart.

The Adlet was stunned when realized that that heart was his.

The hand was Alric’s, but how could he not have sensed the brat. The Adlet smiled as it took a closer look at Alric and saw the Kludde energy surrounding him.

‘It was one of those tricky bastards.’

He thought as his body fell to the ground.
