《Nameless》Beginning of My Story

I don't know how, but I must have used all my luck that had surged inside me. The door to the orphanage opened and a huge, well uniformed man (with cool looking, black sunglasses) walked into the orphanage. A usual thing we orphans like to do when a promising looking adult comes in, is crowd around that person and try to charm them with googly eyes or what not.

Of course, lots of the kids crowded around the man, but I didn’t. At first upon looking at the huge man, I thought of him as a person who might never adopt me, let alone look at me.

So, as I went to take a seat to think more about this cursed life I’m living in, the huge man walked towards one of the caretakers and asked, “Is there a young boy named Nameless?”

I jumped out of my seat immediately after he mentioned my name. Everyone in the room looked straight towards my direction after I energetically jumped from my chair.

You don’t know how happy I was upon hearing my own name by someone who isn’t a caretaker. At this point I wanted to take the man’s hand, walk outside with him, then pull the damn middle finger at all those incompetent bastards as I left.

Although, at the same time, I thought of it as something too good to be true, for a man like him to even adopt me. It could’ve also been one of my vile parent’s henchmen delivering another of their uninspiring letters talking about how worthless I was.

Yes, they actually send letters to me talking about how I am trash. I’m glad to be away from those fricking bastards. Heck, even if I was born to be a ‘S-Magic Rank’ god, I would have done the same. Walk away from that disastrous land and then pull the cursed middle finger straight at their uncharming faces. How I learned about the middle finger, I don’t know. I just had this feeling when I first pulled it. It felt dirty, and I liked it.

Anyways, back to the story. When I was about to retake my seat, the man grabbed my arm before I could even set my bottom down. I immediately looked up and made contact with his eyes. “So, you’re Nameless.” I just stared at him, but I nodded. Just to tell you, I'm currently 12 years old and 4’11’’. To me, this man was a giant! I’m guessing six feet or more?

He picked me up to his shoulders and began walking to the door that lead outside. He gave the caretaker a stack of cash and continued his walk out. I looked out to the gravel road to see a black limousine.

I didn’t know what the hell was going on, but I was interested anyways.

When we reached the black limousine, he set me down and opened the door for me.

I jumped inside. As I did, the terminator like man with cool looking dark glasses (Yes I said it again cause it was that cool) went inside with me. He closed the door, and when he did, the car immediately started and already we were off. But before we were about to move, I pulled the cursed middle finger straight at the orphanage with a evil grin.

Yes, it felt amazing.

As we rode to our location, in the middle of us was a jar full of chocolate. I stared at it for a long while, then a few minutes later the giant tapped on my head. I looked up at him, also questioned to myself if he was uncomfortable having to position his body differently just to fit in the car. He gave me a smile and made a gesture saying, “Go ahead.”

I jumped in like a dog to its owner and took out some chocolate. You don’t know how long it was since I last ate chocolate. It was long enough for me to mistaken the jar to be full of dog poo.

Well forget about the gloomy stuff, now was when I was actually in heaven. I never smiled so widely, shined so brightly, ate so wildly. I had finally put down my tough face. It felt so good to smile that I wanted to cry. I stayed at that damn orphanage for seven years. Seven years! It was like a slave camp there, but now since I’m finally out of there, just sitting here eating chocolate was heaven enough for me.

I was about to get my 5th chocolate, but the man closed the jar. I looked at him and made a look that said, “I want more!” like a child, but I paused a bit, realizing that I didn’t even ask his name yet. We were in this limousine for ten minutes already and I still don’t know a single thing about him. I looked up at the giant and inspected his features. He had short wavy black hair, light skin, and looked very fit, to the point where you can see some muscle. I also happened to see, at some point, his eyes, there were the usual black.

“Hey-” I covered my mouth immediately.

Do you know the feeling when you speak that one way for so long that you can’t stop anymore? Yes, this is happening to me. I am so accustomed to speaking in such a tough manner that it makes it literally sound like I’m saying, “Ha! Insect.” No matter which way I say or respond to things.

I took a deep breath and asked again, “Umm, hi I didn’t ask for your name yet. What is it?” God, the way I asked that made me feel like I had social anxiety.

“My name is Ukos.” He responded with a smile. I smiled too, then all of a sudden we became friends just like that.

Hey, I never made a friend in my life! Making my first now was satisfying enough for me. Yes, I know what friends are, I'm not that dumb.

“So, where are we going Ukos?”

“We are going to meet your new parents.”

I felt overjoyed, I am finally going to have and meet my new (real) parents! Not only that, looking around me it’s obvious that they are rich. I know that my old (fake) parents are rich too, but heck I don’t even care about them anymore.

I began to hear trotting and many other sounds outside, I looked out to see a carriage on the road being pulled along by horses. Passed that was a person running at high speed. I watched as the speeding man passed us and ran straight towards the city through the highway.

The City of Wonder, yes that is the actual name of the city. I wanted to punch the idiots who made up that damn name for it. Sadly, they are dead.

Oh, did I mention that we are going 150 miles per hour? Yes, there is an actual carriage being pulled by horses at 150 mph. Over the past hundred years, or maybe more, many have discovered tricks that would help us in our daily lives. Due to this trick we see now, cars have gotten expensive and many didn’t see the point of getting cars if they could just enchant their horses to go faster. Which doesn’t tire the horses faster by the way; just makes it easier for them.

Well, enough of that small history, even I have gotten bored just explaining it. Finally, we were in the city.

Remember that time when I said that many are also born part animals in the introduction? Well you will see it here now. I stared outside as buildings passed by. I saw gift shops, restaurants, malls, and many more. Though, if you observed them all closely, they all had a certain different scenery than you readers have, the people. A harpy working at a gift shop, a fox boy working at a clothing shop, and a cat girl working at a restaurant. Even though some look human, they are actually not.

Another one of the tricks we civil people have discovered is the spell to make yourself more human. So a fox girl won’t have fur all over her body, but will still have her fox ears and tail. Pretty amazing isn’t it? I guess that is one thing you could say, “Oh you’re lucky.” Not only that, you could make it permanent. That means you can have just a tail for the rest of your life. Sad thing about it though, it’s really expensive. The materials needed to do it are really rare, even when we have such a huge city with many supporting communities.

How I know about this? Hey, I have my ways for sneaking out of the orphanage then to the city. But you can already tell that it would a long journey to get here. I have to go back, mostly because it's dangerous during the night. Don't get me started on those perverted shota men. Yeah, I can see you feel pretty disguested. You should.

We drove out of the city thirty minutes after and continued along a dirt road that lead to a forest. We rode in a dark forest for a while. Though as we did, I conversated a bit with Ukos about my parents. “So, what are my new parents like?” I was curious about it ever since I entered this limousine.

“Your parents are both a succubus and a incubus. They have three daughters, though your new parents are busy everyday. The daughters are rather bored and lonely without people to play with.”

“I’m guessing that’s one of the reason why they are adopting me.” Ukos gave a nod, keeping his cool gesture ever since I first met him, still though I questioned myself if he was really fine sitting in that damn wierd position. Anyways, I guess I’ll be with those three daughters when I get there. Ukos turns his head to where we’re heading.

“We have arrived.” I lowered one of the windows and looked out, but saw nothing. Only the grassy plains that was ahead of us. Though, unlike other main characters, I’m not going to fall for it.

“It’s invisible isn’t it?” Ukos gave a thumbs up. And after a few seconds, with a blink of an eye, a huge castle wall appeared far ahead.

Ha! Take that story plot!

“I’m surprised that you knew. Were you educated before your original parents put you in the orphanage?”

“No, I knew once I grew old enough the caretakers will kick me out. They have classes at the orphanage, but obviously since I’m a F-Magic Rank they wouldn't allow me take them. So I would often sneak to a window of one of the classes and listen as the lessons were spoken and taken.”

The first time in all my life, I finally spoke like a smart person. At least now you know that I’m not just some brawn dense idiot that punches kids with glasses. Though I think I already set that down after explaining history and stuff to you guys.

Totally not breaking the fourth wall here.

The road started to become smoother and everything around us started to change from forest to grassy plains. Ahead of us was the huge, not well maintained, stone brick wall that covered everything inside from sight. If you took a look from right to left as well, it looked endless.

We stopped near the front of the giant gate. Ukos stepped out, I looked out from the window and saw him walk up to the gate. The next moment, a dark robed figure appeared in front of him. They spoke for a few minutes and then Ukos began to walk back to the car. As he did, the gate began to slowly open. It wasn’t what I expected though, because behind that giant gate looked like a swarling mirror. It took me a few seconds to finally realize that it was a portal, Ukos stepped into the limousine, then we began to drive into the portal.

Well isn’t this look awesome.

???: To be honest, I’m a smart person, but I’m not some professional novelist who won ten damn prizes for it. If I do though, I’ll allow everyone who bought this damn fiesta to slap me once. Actually, don’t. I’m not a masochist and I don’t intend on making deals that I’ll most likely lose. Now saying that, I feel more motivated on making this story. Oh crap, the fourth wall broke again! They’ll never make me pay for the repairs again! Never!

They got me to pay for it.

???: Two: Hey! Didn’t I tell you!

???: Oh crap, it’s the author! Time to run!

Author: Hey!
