《Angel of Colors》Book 2, Tenth Chapter

Although I hated to prove Knell right…I’d decided to take Peal up on her offer. I didn’t have anything else to do that night, and I’ve always been a firm believer in giving people a chance. I figured it was more fair to find out exactly what I was getting into, and then reject them.
Nevertheless, all the dates I’d been on lately had been awkward disasters. I didn’t attract many admirers, but those I did were usually silly types who thought I might be some kind of “tall, dark and mysterious” trope.
Well, long story short: I’m not.
I didn’t know if Peal was a silly type. She was supposedly a scientist, so she could have intelligence on her side. But it seemed like her actual job consisted only of performing errands for “Saint Toll”…and she did have a rather “silly” personality.
In any case, she was an angel. Even if I somehow fell head-over-heels for her, we were still two different species, and I’m sure she realized that, too. What exactly were her long-term plans for this potential relationship? Did she have any?
“You don’t need plans,” said Knell, reading my thoughts again. “Just marry her and live happily ever after, forever and ever.”
“You really need to shut up.”
I was lying on my bed, brooding, while Knell was going through my closet. He’d insisted on picking out my clothes for the date, and although I hated having him involved in the matter, this was the only thing that had cheered him up in days, and part of me wanted that to last.
“I didn’t know you had so many clothes…you pretty much only wear the same 4 outfits, day after day. And that includes your hunting stuff.”
“We can’t all be fashion-obsessed.”

“Well, then why do you have them…? Anyway, speaking of hunting, I decided I’m going to go out by myself tonight, so you two can be left alone~.”
I sat up. “Are you sure?”
“Don’t worry about me. I was on my own before I met you, and since then, I’ve only gotten smarter. You taught me a lot. And besides, if all this research talk is really getting serious…it might be the last time I eat for a while.” He pulled out an orange striped shirt. “How’s this?”
“I hate it.”
“I’m not really a fan of it either, but I think Peal likes orange. She wears that orange vest, and her party dress was basically the pink version of orange. I hope she doesn’t feel stuck with it because of her skin tone…I think she could look good in neutrals, too. And pastels…and maybe red.”
“You think everyone and everything looks good in red.”
“Red is the best color,” he said, grinning. “If I could, I would dye the whole world red.”
“Don’t say that in front of any cameras.”
Knell laughed. “I should totally do that! Do you think Toll would get spooked? I mean, angels don’t have blood, but he would get the meaning, right?”
“I’m warning you, Knell…”
“Okay, fine…I’ve got it: red-orange!”
I ended up wearing a turtleneck of that color with a gray vest. Knell had gushed about the outfit for hours, but I just felt stupid. Not stupid-looking, of course- Knell’s talent for design was undeniable- but stupid as in “out of my element”. I felt like people were staring…
Peal was already waiting for me at the park. It was as if she’d taken Knell’s advice: she was wearing a kind of pastel-neutral combination. The only bright color on her was an oddly-shaped ornament that was buoyed in her hair. It was red-orange.

“Oh, so that’s why!” she said upon seeing me. “Knell left a strange message for me at the Facility a few hours ago, saying weird things like ‘brown with black accents’ and ‘something red-orange’... I didn’t really understand at the time, but now I get it: he just wanted us to match! Isn’t that cute?”
Damn that kid.
“Forget him, please…so, what do you want to do?” I asked halfheartedly.
“Well, I know that humans usually eat dinner together for things like this, but I can’t really…do that…which I apologize for!” she said. “So I thought we could just…walk together in this park.”
I noticed that she was wearing shoes, and her feet were actually on the ground. Apparently, she really did intend to walk.
“I think our main problem is that we hardly know anything about each other. So that’s what I want to change,” she finished.
So far, her intentions seemed surprisingly un-silly. But it was too early to know for sure. I started walking.

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Mon at 9:00 AM Tue at 12:00 PM Wed at 3:00 PM Thu at 6:00 PM Fri at 9:00 PM Sun at 12:00 AM

Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.

I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!
