《EEPOS: from rags to godhood》Battle of fire, ice and monsters part 4

Edwards coughed out blood as he was laying on the ground. He touched his side and felt a couple of his ribs broken. Edward then got up and joined back to fight the beast even though he was still badly injured.
He was faster than the beast, but the cuts he made were not slowing or even hurting the beast. Any strike that the beast threw at Edward could be the final blow that would kill him.
The puppets of Yosef did not feel pain or fear, but they still were being easily knocked down by the raxnas. One of the puppets was able to cut down one arm of the beast and a second shot it in the eye. The monster just picked back his hand and created a new eye and proceeded to rip one of the puppets apart.
The crystals of Hailey tried to stop the beast from moving but it only slowed it down. As crystals pierced its legs that plunged from the ground the creature just walked them off.
She tried to pierce it with many crystals, but the monster just didn't care. It was completely immune to pain and any kind of damage.
"How the hell do we kill this thing?" Edward cursed.
The beast then grabbed Edward's leg and pulled him towards him. He was hanging Edward with him slashing at the beast with it barely even noticing.
"This doesn't look good," Edward said as the monster with three mouths smiled at him.
The beast opened a gaping mouth from its torso. It was about to eat Edward in the heat of battle with Edward trying to save himself.
Just before Edward was about to be eaten the beast was knocked down, saving Edward from certain death.
Pema had entered the battle with half of his body covered in his trademark carbon armor. He punched the beast so hard that it punctured the beast's chest. He then threw the beast to the ground slamming it so hard the earth shook.

"When the hell did you get this strong? And what's with that new look of yours?" Edward asked.
"Shouldn't you thank me for saving you?" Pema said back.
The monster rose up with its body all mangled and twisted. It then quickly reformed its shape and was about to strike down at the two of them but an arrow was shot into its abdomen. It then exploded into a large rock with spikes cutting the raxnas into two.
"How about you two focus on the enemy in front of us!" Amala yelled.

The queen was staring at the fight as the beast was slowly being taken down back by Rufus's friends. She had never believed such strong individuals existed in the kingdom of Fairfax.
"Look closely, my good queen. These are the heroes of our kingdom. You really thought you could have won against us with or without your monster," Joan said looking at all of them besting the beast.
~ ~
The beast was cut apart, beheaded, and pierced many times, but it still refused to die.
"How the fuck do you kill that thing!" Edward cursed.
The monster was slowing down and its smiles had disappeared from its many mouths. It was breathing heavily and looking mad at all of them.
"Leave it to me guys!"
Rufus entered the battlefield. The creature stared confused as the others gave way for this unknown human.
Then it started to tremble slightly as it sensed immense divinity from this unknown human. Out of fear or other instinct, it charged straight at Rufus.
Rufus dodged the attack and countered by slightly touching the beast on its chest. The beast at first didn't feel anything but then saw cracks appearing at its body. It looked at Rufus as he was starting to push down the beast to the ground. When the beast hit the earth, it disintegrated into ash as Rufus's hand went through it and hit the ground and formed a crater. The beast had finally been slain.

The queen was shocked as Rufus, straight after killing the beast, walked towards her. She was still being pinned down by Joan and couldn't believe her eyes what she had just seen. Rufus had so easily killed the raxnas that had been raised for three generations.
Rufus squatted at looked at the queen.
"I think the war is over and I think you and what's left of your army should leave," Rufus said while looking at the dazed queen.
~~
The war was a short one, but not bloodless. The battle that ended the war had been a massacre with few losses on the side of the Fairfax but was devastating for the nation of Sparv. Around half of the enemy, had been killed including their marshal. The queen had been humiliated with the word spreading around the world that she had been saved by the king of Fairfax when her own weapon had turned on her.
The nation of Sparv was humiliated and the nation of Fairfax had stamped itself on everyone's mind as a kingdom not to be messed with. Many saw this new kingdom and dynasty as something that would do great things, but few would have guessed that it would one day be the holy lands from where the gods once hailed and had their beginning.

Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
