Doreen was about to join the fight against Mona, but her shield moved her to guard against an unknown attack. A spear lunged in and struck at Doreen's shield. She looked over her shield and saw a man with a kite shield and a spear in hand. It was Tankred.
He continued with a relentless thrusting of his spear trying to hit Doreen.
"I have always wanted to fight an Olympian. You are masters with the shield and spear. Finally, I can prove the Guiscard way of fighting is the more superior one," Tankred smiled sinisterly and looked confident.
He stopped attacking when Doreen's spear grew. It almost sliced right through Tankred's neck leaving him alarmed.
"Weird, I never wanted to fight against a Guiscard. Thought of it as a waste of time," Doreen said back and looked down on Tankred.
The feeling of irritation crept on him. Tankred started to attack again Doreen with her just calmly blocking every attack.
One attack then hit harder that felt like a rock falling against Doreen's shield. She saw that Tankred was smiling and his spear glowed eerily.
He jumped into the air and started to fall down the head of his spear first. Doreen decided to dodge it instead of blocking fearing for a strong attack. When Tankred hit the ground the earth collapsed and caved in as a meteor had hit it.
Doreen looked at him as Yankred seemed now more confident. Tankred had released his divine power that made his spear many hundreds of times heavier than it actually was.
Tankred commenced a relentless rush of attacks with Doreen knowing that she couldn't let him hit her once. The ability of her shield to predict attacks became also obsolete as she would crumble with the weight of the attacks. Her shield would not break, but she would be crushed under the weight of the attack.

Doreen then lunged with her spear that grew many meters long. Tankred dodged the attack and placed his spear on top of Doreen's spear. The spear dropped to the ground taking Doreen with it who was holding it from a long distance.
Tankred smiled and Doreen looked frustrated.
"As I told you. The Guiscard way with the shield and spear is by far superior then the Olympian way."

Edward attacked the left-wing of the enemy army. They had not lost yet their composure and still were standing in a thick shield wall. Edward charged the enemy with him slashing the air that launched an air-compressed projectile towards the enemy line. The attack broke the shield wall and gave Edward and the rest of the grey skin warriors an opening.
"ROAR, WARRIORS ROAR!" Edward yelled and charged the Guiscards.
Edward charged with the grey skin warriors and started to crush the line of the mercenaries. The grey skin warriors who were fighting with Edward fought just like Edward with fury and savagery. They cut away at the guiscards with their curved blades and glaives at the Guiscards answered in kind with their shields and spears.
Edward faced one Guiscard who had divine power, but he took him down with ease by dodging his attacks and cutting the enemy down.
Edward had surpassed his father and made his enemies' hearts full of fear as his father had done for many years.
Edward was attacked by two knights whose attacks were stronger than your average mercenary. The two knights were knights of the black sun.
A large crashing sound and cries of grey skins were heard close by. Edward looked and saw the knights of the black sun had come to the front to face the grey skin warriors. The knights started to cut down the grey skins easily proving why they had been the elite soldiers of the kingdom. The ever ferocious grey skin warriors were being cut down easily by them forcing them back. The tide of the battle started to change in the favour of the enemy on the left-wing.

An attack came at Edward. He was able to block it but was shocked to see who it was. It was Joan who looked at Edward with eyes full of rage.
She readied her stance which was like a fencer's. She had one foot pointing forward while her back foot was at an angle making herself into a smaller target. She held onto her sword with one hand while the other was behind her back. She composed herself before she charged in by taking a deep breath and closing her eyes.
She then opened her eyes and started to attack with her sword at an incredible speed. She started to thrust and sting with her enormous sword at a speed that an eye could barely follow it.
Edward moved his sword blocking all the attacks. He was also being attacked by some knights of the black sun making the battle extremely difficult making Edward curse the situation he was in. Edward looked behind him seeing the grey skin warriors being pushed back and started to think of a way out of this mess.

In The Maw Of The Gods
Synopsis Lilly Harper was always the type to keep to herself. She struggled to make friendships and so, she simply opted not to. That was why moving to the coastal town of Wilham didn’t bother her. She wasn’t leaving anybody behind and she certainly didn’t expect to be making any friends any time soon. However, when she starts hearing about the school’s “Magic Club”—a group of weirdos who claim that magic is real, she can’t deny that she’s slightly intrigued. Then without warning, she suddenly finds herself wrapped up with them. And what if they aren’t crazy? What if magic is actually real? And what if it’s because of that magic that something more powerful than they could ever conceive of is drawn to Wilham? I plan to follow a release schedule of Tuesday/Friday. Average chapter length will be 4,000 to 6,000 words and I will be using multiple POV's quite often. Also to note, while I am flagging the story with content warnings, I am only doing so because there are specific moments where it will be needed. Overall, the story will be relatively tame and I plan to put extra warnings at the beginning of chapters that it applies to. Thank you to everybody who decides to give my story a chance and I hope you enjoy it!
