《EEPOS: from rags to godhood》Rufus vs the King

The swords made from light flew at an immense speed at Rufus. Rufus first tried to destroy them just by simply touching them, but soon realized he was simply too slow. They flew at him one after another grazing him and leaving small cuts all over.
Rufus started to run to the side of the room. The king just stood at the same spot and kept shooting the light swords trying to hit Rufus. Rufus was dodging and blocking them with his hand the best he could with one just barely missing his throat.
Rufus then threw two spheres at the king. Before they could do destruction the king again sliced and destroyed the sphere with his light swords.
The king shot a beam from his hand which Rufus blocked. He was able to block the attack with his hands infusing them with his divine power. Embers flew and it looked like Rufus was being burnt with a blowtorch.
Rufus then tried to rush at the king pushing against the beam of light. The king made the light beam shoot harder and with more pressure as Rufus was pushing against it and walking toward him.
The king stopped and clapped his hands together. He created five clones of him from light that had completely white eyes. All the clones had swords similar to the ones the king had shot Rufus with. They attacked Rufus swinging their swords and floating in the air like ghosts. Rufus was dodging and was countering them with kicks and punches. With just a touch the clones burst like lightbulbs that broke. He threw one divine sphere that engulfed and destroyed two of the king's clones simultaneously.
Just before he destroyed the last clone a large spear of lightning came from behind the clone and almost pierced through Rufus. Rufus dodged it just in the nick of time as the spear threw past him and flew out of the window.

Rufus then looked at the king and realized that the king was an extremely strong individual. The king had not taken a single step away from the throne and didn't look tired at all. In the meanwhile, Rufus had small cuts and burns here and there on his body with a few times coming close to dying.
The legendary power of the Jacob family was on full display. The same power, but fairly weaker, that Franz Jacob used when he fought against Dalai with the other first kings and queens of the Aesis world.
Rufus then took a breather and calmed down. He took a fighting stance that he learned from Pema. The king created and flew more swords at Rufus, but Rufus destroyed all of them. He then created a large divine sphere behind him.
When the sphere exploded it made Rufus fly through the air at an immense speed taking the king by surprise. The king was too slow to react and just saw Rufus flying at him like a rocket. Rufus then pierced the king's chest with his hand. His hand came out from the other side and made the king spew out blood. The king's wide gown and grey beard were colored red from his own blood with his crown falling to the ground.
The king fell onto his throne while spewing blood and holding on to his chest. He looked at Rufus who stood in front of him like he was looking down on the king. Rufus placed his hand on the head of the king. The king looked like he was disappointed in him.
"You will doom this kingdom. You will destroy it," the king said and looked at Rufus right in the eyes.
Rufus looked with hatred at the king.
"I will break and destroy everything. But then we will rebuild it new. So, I will start it now by breaking you," Rufus said.

Rufus made the head explode of the king. The old and stagnated king had died.
The other people from the outside the room didn't anymore hear the sounds of battle or feel a strong divine aura. They opened the door and saw the king lying dead on the throne with Rufus standing next to him. They all looked at Rufus who was covered in blood and breathing heavily. They looked at Rufus who seemed like a different person with eyes still focused like he was midst a battle.
"You okay Rufus?" Haley asked not being sure had Rufus changed as a person.
Rufus moved the body of the king out of the throne and threw it aside. Rufus then sat on the throne himself and swept his blood-soaked hair back.
He lifted the crown that had fallen onto the ground. The crown crumbled into dust in his hand with Rufus looking calmly as it did.
He took a deep breath and looked at the ceiling.
"I hope this bloodshed is all over now," Rufus said and looked at the ceiling.

A week later in the eastern region of Targavis, Markus was meeting the lord of the region. He had fled to his home region after he survived and escaped the battle of Ins.
"Oh, thank you. With this gold, we can fight those grey skins and usurpers. I give you my word that we will give you the throne. I serve at your pleasure," the noble said while grinding his hands together.
"Good. I believe your best bet is to hire some Guiscard mercenaries. The famed warriors from the island of Guiscard," Markus suggested.
"What a wonderful idea. They are the most prized mercenaries in all of Aesis. They are sure to bring a proper fight to those savages."
"Let the wars continue then," Markus said and smiled.

Dungeons Are Bad Business
Vee Vales has been kicked out of his home and directed to make his own way in the world. Along with his friend Alforde Armorsoul, Vee travels to the city of Oar's Crest. Once a prosperous and well-to-do city, Oar's Crest has fallen into depression and disrepair. After finding a strange stone that takes up residence in a tattered top hat and introduces itself as Reginald, Vee and Alforde decide to open a dungeon in Oar's Crest to revitalize the city and, more importantly, make some fleurs. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Author's Note: Dungeons are Bad Business (DABB) is a slow burn slice-of-life dungeon core litRPG citybuilder that's focused on the day to day experience of running a dungeon. There will be some action, but it won't be the focus of the story and Vee and his friends will usually overcome their problems with their minds and their pocketbooks instead of their weapons. Since I'm participating in the writeathon, I will probably be uploading chapters almost daily for the duration of the event. Thanks for reading!
