《A Lich's Life》02-Silvio Morell(2)

"May Idona's blessing restore the order within you."
A silver light flashed as the multiple scratches on the man's arm began to disappear. A few of the bigger cuts on the upper arm were still visible but they began to form scabs. Looking satisfied the mercenary grabbed 5 silvers and threw them to Silvio.
'Phew last one of the day.'
He examined how much divine power he had left and was preparing to leave. But the bulky mercenary stood up in front of Silvio with a disgusting smile on his face as he placed his hand on Silvio's waist.
"Thanks, kid you ever think about joining a merc-"
"Thanks but no"
He shook off the man and kept walking away. Silvio's immediate reply ticked the mercenary off. The bulky mercenary looked to be a man in his mid-thirties, 2.1 meters tall, with an orcish face that only a mother could love. He was equipped with dark leather armor and twin swords at his waist. He was staring at Silvio's back as if looks could kill.
"I'm Hank the leader of the Falchion Mercenary team. Do you think you have the right to interrupt someone like me when I'm talking? Did your family not teach you manners you little shit!?"
Hank got up straight into Silvio's face and stared down at him. Standing at only 1.7 meters tall Silvio looked like a midget compared to him.
"I'm sorry sir, it's just that- " the young man seemingly terrified shrank back.
"It's just what, you fucking pleb!?" the mercenary said as he grinned widely at the young man's fear.
"It's just that you smell like shit."
The fear suddenly disappeared from Silvio's face and before Hank could even react a silver chain appeared out of nowhere.
CRAAACCKK!!!
"AAAAAGGH!" the bulky mercenary screamed as he fell to his knees.
The man could be seen on the floor screaming as he held his crotch. The church's floor began to get painted red as blood flowed between his legs. Silvio smirked and chuckled at the man's pain but his eyes were as cold as ice.
"Learned your lesson yet?"
"I'M GONNA KILL YOU, YOU TRICKY BASTARD!"

Gritting his teeth Hank the mercenary barely stood up and unsheathed his falchions. His pain tolerance was commendable at least few could take a hit there and stand to fight. With a murderous gaze, he stared down Silvio wanting to rip him apart.
Silvio didn't back off from his gaze. This wouldn't be his first time dealing with prideful pricks and he knew you couldn't give them an inch. The people still lingering in the church began to get interested. Fights in Lerwick were like fish in the sea they were as common as you can get but people still loved to watch. A team of 6 walked in and began to watch the confrontation as well.
"Ooo lucky us you'll get to see his skills directly in action. I'm telling ya girlie this guy got real skills he's the best fit for the job."
2 of the figures in the group who were both covered by azure robes looked on in doubt but didn't speak. Sensing his contractors' doubt Mag just shook his head and looked on to the fight that was about to begin. Silvio and Hank were already in a standoff for quite a while, throwing murderous gazes and insults one after another. Hank was the first to crack, he was a man of pride and ego he couldn't stand a brat half his size threatening him any longer. He swiftly brandished his falchion and swung it at breakneck speed towards Silvio's arm. Confidence from years of battle let him believe he could torture Silvio and cut off his arm without breaking a sweat. Ironically in this case their two thoughts lined up.
A silver light flashed and a fountain of blood appeared from Hank's right shoulder. Before he could even react the right arm holding his falchion fell to the floor.
"AACCKK"
A terrifying scream burst out as Hank fell to the floor. Standing completely unharmed were Silvio and his knife which was held by a silver chain. Unperturbed by the scene playing out before him Silvio manipulated the silver knife floating in front of him to slowly press forward. The silver chains of order extended out as it brought his knife closer and closer to Hank's throat.

"Wait spare me, SPARE ME, SPARE ME, I'M SOR-"
Silvio didn't even bat an eye before chanting "Oh sinner of chaos repent for your sins, may order be restored"
A silver glow covered his knife and immediately stabbed into Hank's throat. Before he could even scream he was turned into ash. The spectators sighed and shook their heads at the mercenary leader's stupidity. With the fight over they began to disperse despite someone being blatantly murdered in front of them, it wasn't a new thing for people in Lerwick. Although the two robed figures were quite shaken at the battle. The shorter figure of the 2 voiced out in a quiet voice
"Is he just allowed to do that? I thought followers were supposed to follow the three paths of good, to just kill someone like that...."
While the taller figure in azure robes was astonished for a different reason.
"Silent casting...impossible...but that's-"
Mag was satisfied with their reaction and began walking towards Silvio. His armor clinked as the stocky man in iron waved towards Silvio.
"Nice work kid, I know you just finished but you mind hearing out this job proposal. These two lasses are in dire need of your skills. "
Mag wrapped his arm around Silvio's shoulder and pulled him forward towards the two ladies in azure robes. Silvio looked annoyed as Mag heavy-handedly dragged him towards the two ladies but he didn't say anything as he was used to it. He tried to look at his supposed contractor's faces but their faces were nothing but a blur. The azure robes seemed to have some kind of magical distortion that covered their faces but it didn't hide their curvaceous features. The taller figure stepped forward and inspected the young man in front of her. Silvio standing at 1.7 meters tall with pale skin, deep-set eyes, and thin arms made it difficult to see him as the man who just instantly destroyed a giant like Hank. But actions speak for themselves so she believed in Mag's words.
"Hello my name is Larissa and this is my sister Marika we require aid from the church of light in order to investigate a monster."
She spoke in an elegant but dominant tone as she looked at Silvio.
'Damn a noble'
Silvio immediately guessed Larissa's identity within a second. Living in a hell town like Lerwick, having a discerning eye was a must for survival. Despite covering her face her tone of speech, posture, and disposition made it all too obvious. Reacting swiftly and respectfully to nobles was one of the lessons Silvio learned over the years.
"Greetings I am Silvio Morell neophyte assistant of the church in Lerwick. I would be honored to hear out your request, oh respected lady. Please follow me to a more comfortable area."
The two sisters were quite appalled as the seemingly ruthless man took a full 180 in attitude. Of course, this full personality switch wasn't strange for Mag's team who had seen Silvio's glib tongue in the past.
The 2 sisters and Mag followed him back into his room. Silvio placed down his nicest chairs for the two sisters.
"I apologize for the lacking hospitality," Silvio said as he bowed his head
"It's nothing to worry about, now let's get to business I'm not one for idle chatter" Larissa leaned forward and started to tap her fingers against the armchair impatiently.
"Of course, you said you were investigating a monster. Can I assume that you two are hunting an undead?"
Larissa raised an eyebrow while Marika asked in surprise
"How'd you know?"
Silvio shrugged and replied "It's obvious, Mag's team is one of the most famous in Lerwick for hunting undead and he only comes to hire me when he's hunting a powerful one. So what are we hunting ogre zombies, corpse beasts, or spirits? Those are the only undead I can think of that require my help. "
Silvio started to pour himself some water while waiting for the duo's answer
Larissa simply replied "No, we were sent here to investigate the whereabouts of a runaway vampire. Also to eliminate it if found."
The glass shattered as it hit the floor. Water and glass shards were spilling everywhere but Silvio didn't care. He looked at the two sisters as if they were monsters.
