《Reincarnated in Another World as a Swordswoman》Ch.3 The Rite of Royalty

Tulip sat atop the throne, a half smile half frown plastered across her lips. Blood still laid rather fresh on her clothes and she was feeling pretty cold. She had many things to think about while she had this quiet to herself nonetheless.
First, and the most pressing matter. How the hell am I going to keep myself from getting assassinated?! I need to sleep! No ones going to be happy with me just randomly taking the throne you know!”
Second, and the one that can be left for later. I just killed people. A few of them killed each other but I instigated the deaths of over 12 guards...and all that I feel is…..relief?
Her head itched with stress over her thoughts, so she gave it up and focused on the assassination problem. It was the most pressing anyway. But out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a white robed man hiding behind a pillar.
“You. Servant on my left. Go and grab the white robed man over there.” Upon realising he had been discovered the man attempted to run away, but tripped on his own robes and started crying.
“Pffft!” The servants and the prince looked up at the noise coming from the throne, but only saw the new, stone faced queen. Not even cracking a smile.
‘Oh my GOD that was funny! That idiot hahaha!’ Tulip barely held herself together and almost burst into tears over that, Acting Lvl 2 sure is helpful sometimes.
One of the servants picked the man up by his arms, pulling him along the floor and placing him beneath her feet.
“I’m going to ask two things of you,” Tulip stood up and looked down on the man, piercing him with her gaze, “One. You will state your occupation for me.” She then stepped down and held the man up by his hair while kneeling, bringing her face next to his. “Second. Swear your allegiance or die.”
The man quickly stated his job. But not before stuttering for around 5 seconds trying to get the words out.
“M-My name is E-Eloso your majesty! I was the p-previous king's holy priest! I-I did things such as preside over royal weddings! A-and…”
The priest continued to prattle on about what his job was but Tulip lost interest after the words “Royal Wedding”

A royal wedding?
Right! A wedding!
Tulip’s eyes drifted over to the now fatherless prince Adrian, there’s no one to say anything against it, and the priest necessary for it is right here….
No one can say anything about her if she’s been invited in normally right?
“Hey. Prince boy, over here.” Tulip beckoned over to Adrian, who shuddered at the sudden calling for him.
“Y-yes your majesty?” Adrian was confused and scared as to why he was called, is he going to be killed tonight?
“Marry me.” Tulip spoke brazenly
…….
“HAH?” Adrian felt like his brain was melting, of all the things he expected her to say, of all the scenarios he thought would go down. He did NOT expect this. His legs were wobbling and his eyes shook.
Sure, he was happy that a good looking girl wanted to marry him but...
“I don’t wanna be loved by a beast!”
“Hm?” Tulip tilted her head slightly
“Uh I mean….I’m flattered your majesty but…..” Adrian began to stammer on uselessly.
“You don’t get to choose,” Tulip pulled the spear that plunged into the chest of the king out, sprinkling blood along the floor. “Marry me or die.”

‘How in God’s name did I end up here?’ The priest questioned his life up until this point as he stood in the throne room, about to announce a new queen.
Tulip didn’t bother changing her outfit for the wedding and quickly urged Eloso to start up the proceedings, Adrian sat opposite her and seemed as though he was ready to collapse and cry.
Eloso gave Adrian his most solemn prayers for good luck, and with a scared face began speaking the vows.
“Since it is your intention to enter into the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands, and declare your consent before God and his Church.” Eloso spoke with a strange calmness, I suppose he is a priest after all, thought Tulip.
“I, Adrian, take you…..” He looked over to Eloso and whispered, “What’s her name again?”
Eloso shrugged, “She never mentioned…”
“Oh for God's sake, come here.” Tulip yanked on Adrian’s collar and kissed him, it was short and over quickly.
“There. Now announce our marriage, Priest.” Eloso looked immensely confused by everything today but just decided to give up in the end.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife! And considering that the rest of the royal family is dead I now also pronounce you king and queen!”
“Nifty.” Tulip put on a face like she didn’t care all too much but inside she was extremely happy, ‘YES NOW I CAN SLEEP WITHOUT BEING KILLED’ She yawned appropriately to her thoughts and soon asked,
“Where do I sleep? I’m tired.”
One of the servants quickly came along and helped direct Tulip and Adrian towards their bedchambers.
“I suppose this is where we’ll sleep from now on…” Said Adrian with an empty voice. He had lost all of his spirit from when Tulip had first arrived, seeing the guards being toyed around with and watching her kill her father so easily made him a little dull. Especially considering practically all of those things happened just about 30 minutes ago.
“Hold on. We’ll?” Tulip turned to Adrian who couldn’t even afford the effort to look up to meet her gaze.
“The king and queen sleep together, I thought that was pretty common…” The door to the bedroom was opened and the inside was revealed. A beautiful bed lay on the left side of the room, it was carved out of some kind of pristine wood. And the bedsheets themselves were a lovely shade of dark red, accenting a royal hue.
The right wall held a large bookcase spanning the length of the entire wall, filled to the brim with books of red, blue, and black colouring. The bookcase was also made out of the same wood as the bedframe and the floor was a lovely pastel light red.
On the opposite side of the room from the door laid a balcony, it wasn’t huge but it was enough to go out and admire the view with. Tulip stepped past the rest of the room without taking time to admire its contents.
She stepped out onto the balcony and breathed in some fresh air, this wasn’t her world anymore. The stars didn’t only glow white but also red, yellow, black and pink. As many colours that existed, there seemed to be a star matching it.
The moon that she once knew was now replaced by two moons, one was shimmering in and out of sight whilst the other glowed brightly in a silver light.
Adrian walked up next to Tulip and rested his arms on the balcony, sighing.
“Prince, what do you think that is?” Tulip pointed towards the city surrounding the castle, people were scarce because of the time of night, but the occasional few could still be seen wandering the streets.
“That’s the capital city of our kingdom, Laeretia.” Adrian answered with no vigour, he was tired, the day had come across very long.
“What about that?” This time, Tulip pointed to a far off village outside of town
“That’s a congregation of refugees coming to this kingdom who decided to build a village upon being denied entry.” I suppose even this beast can have moments where she's like a girl, maybe this marriage wont be so bad...
“And...what about that?” She once again pointed towards something, this time however it was the sky.
“That’s….the sky…?” Adrian felt that Tulip was being a bit weird, granted she was deranged from the start but this was strange.
“See that’s where you’re wrong…” Tulip moved out of Adrian’s sight and walked around behind him.
“I’m wrong?” Adrian was confused. Was she delusional?
“Yeah, see there’s a key difference. You said it’s the sky…” Suddenly, Tulip’s foot planted into Adrian’s back. Kicking him off of the balcony.
He screamed as he fell, his previously lost vigour striking back into him to try and survive. Grasping at the stone wall and trying to find leverage. But within a few moments, there was no more noise.
“It’s not the sky, it’s my sky. Just as everything else in this world will be mine. Oh, and there is no way I'm sharing a bed with you.” Tulip looked down coldly to the area where she had kicked down Adrian, his body wasn’t visible due to the height but a small blob could be made out at the bottom of the fall.
Tulip smiled and went back into the room, closing the balcony doors and getting under the sheets.
“Mmm surprisingly comfortable…” Soon enough she drifted off to sleep, she looked nothing like a vicious murderer who had, in one day, killed both a king and a prince while becoming the monarch of a kingdom.
In fact, she slept peacefully and without worry that night.
