Olympian Entertainment has recently announced a new VR version of Raid & Conquer! But, according to their words, it’s not your average VR game. It comes with super cool new technology including a dive helmet - the device that puts you in-game as well as protects your noggin from any unfortunate accidents; sensor pads, leg, arm, and abdomen bracers that sense your movement better than ever; grabby gloves, wired gloves that replace finicky, hard to use controllers and interact with the VR world in an ultra-new way, and the tread rig, a treadmill-like machine that you can walk, run and even ‘swim’ on to simulate moving around in the VR world.
I feel like a shill for this company and I’m not even getting paid for it.
Anyway, the VR version is much like its PC sister but far more immersive. The game’s ever-learning AI lets you talk to the NPCs anyway you want, altering their responses based on tone and what words you use. There’s an option to craft items how you would in the real world as well. Plus, you can even make items not limited to the games crafting category!
The equipment, produced by Olympian Entertainment themselves, costs a whopping $700.99 while the game comes pre-uploaded in the helmet if you’ve already paid for the PC version. While normally, no one at Mother’s Basement Studios could afford such a thing, we’ve recently hired a new co-worker who comes from a very influential and potentially small-studio-damaging family.
