《The Adventure of Holy Beast Bai Xiaoli》C2. It's Uneasy to Be a Beast

"Cluck! Cluck!"
After half an hour, with chicken feathers sticking on his head, Bai Xiaoli toasts the big chicken leg like a professional cook. The food makes him drool.
"Magic power is useless; I can live a better life with my strong body!"
Half an hour later, Bai Xiaoli thinks the chicken leg almost ready. The black chicken leg makes him wonder whether it is the meat of a spiritual beast, because it is not the same thing the friars once cooked for him.
What is it?
Bai Xiaoli soon figures it out, "Of course, different kind of animal looks different after being toasted"
"Let me taste it!"
But the taste is not that good, just like coke! Bitter! Unpalatable!
Bai Xiaoli cries loudly!
It has been a long time since he ate the raw meat, but now, if he doesn't eat something, he will starve to death.
So he begins to search for the next prey.
A little while later, he notices a bigger animal, it looks like rhinoceros in Bai's previous world, but this big creature doesn't have any magic power.
Bai Xiaoli weighs up the chance of conquering the rhinoceros; he finally comes to a conclusion that he is far bigger than that.
Thinking about this, he is a little bit confident to be a hunter, but he notices the sparkling hip of the rhinoceros at that moment.
"Oh, look at that!"
Bai Xiaoli feels it is really interesting, so he just stares at the hip for a while. It twinkles regularly; each time the light flashes, there will be an aureole around its hip. Bai Xiaoli can feel energy from it.
"Maybe it is a treasure; maybe it is something eatable!"
Bai Xiaoli's mouth is watering again. With the consideration about the magic hip, somehow, he is approaching the rhinoceros, a pair of starving eyes longing for the muscular hip, eager to give it a bite.

Then Bai Xiaoli feels humiliated about such an idea, "No, no, no, I am a decent, holy fox with nine tails! How can I do that? It's really indecent!"
Even though, his green eyes never stop fixing on the hip.
At this time, the rhinoceros is eating some flesh; it seems like feeling about the danger behind, and when it turns back, there's a short, thin human being, secretly hidden in the woods.
The rhinoceros roars angrily, but it is no time for the violent voice to rise up, for a white shadow stealthily approaches its back, so quickly that the rhinoceros doesn't have time to finish its roar! Its voice is blocked in the throat, as it gets shocked, gazing at the air.
Its thick-skulled head is still thinking about the shadow, "Is it a human being or an animal?"
Meanwhile, the hungry fox bites into the sparkling hip.
"Ouch~~"
A deafening cry is followed with a tremendous energy wave, and the exasperated rhinoceros can find the hunter nowhere.
Bai Xiaoli sneakily runs back to his hole after giving it a bite. When he spits the bloody flesh out, a dim dark light falls on the ground, and there's something being suspended in it. It's a nail-sized fragment.
Approaching it, Bai Xiaoli feels the energy wave growing stronger and stronger, which makes him have an uncontrolled desire to get it.
"Wow!"
Bai Xiaoli swallows it right away and smacked his lips, but it doesn't feel tasty.
The small black thing is like a miniature sun, warmly dropping down into his "Beast Core".
Bai Xiaoli jumps up and gets panic. This "Beast Core" is critical to him, since it is as important as the primordial spirit of friars. How could this little thing merge with his "Beast Core"?

"How could my Beast Core become like this?"
The transparent Beast Core full of magic power is covered with lots of black signs like the black chains. His magic power is locked within it.
Bai Xiaoli realizes how severe the problem is.
"My magic power is sealed by the black signs!"
The magic power within the "Beast Core" cannot come out, but the black fragment falls in it, unimpeded, as if it belongs to here, merging with the "Beast Core" of the poor fox. At this time, he looks pale, but then he can feel the locked energy in his "Beast Core" again.
That magic power is sealed by the black signs, and cannot come out; however, the magic power can merge into the black fragment, and he can derive the energy which is not the previous magic power from the fragment. The "new" energy is bigger and stronger, and can get out of the "Beast Core", and roam anywhere throughout his body.
Although such kind of magic power is very rare, Bai Xiaoli is still excited about it. Gradually, he can feel the same energy between the heaven and the earth, and even can draw it into his body as his own magic power.
It takes a long time to collect the energy between the heaven and the earth, because the energy is too little, and is not easy to find. Just like in the former world, the density of magic power is different in different places.

Survival Recommended
The universe is destroyed and its inhabitants are thrown into Existence. Eli finds himself in a new world, with a new body, and a System that's more interested in how he'll die. Follow him on his journey of survival in Realms above ours. The story is already completely planned as far as major plot elements go, and it's LONG, chinese novel long. The premise isnt exactly the most original, but after a couple chapters you won't mistake it for any other novel. Be warned this has little in the way of childish wish fufillment and lots of characters are going to die, so don't get too attached. As this is my first attempt at writing, the begining will probably be a bit rough. Please don't shy from criticisms, and I plan to rewrite most of the begining chapters as I get better.
