Chapter 76: Pro-player
"Hahaha. Man, what is up with you and blood? Why do you always choose names like if you are leaked blood from a young girl? RadSpot this time. Haha." Safo was in a good mood, not only had they killed all who blocked their way to the portal but he learned more about his main weapon - Gloves.
Gloves worked as a real weapon when in contact with the other weapon Safo didn't receive damage. He could freely touch or get hit by an opponent's weapons and was completely fine. That gave him a chance to fend off an attack using his hands.
The second thing he had x1 extra damage against other players while in glove mode.
The third thing was that his Rusting and Removal weapon skills were OP. While fighting an opponent with a shield and spear, Safo threw several fast punches towards the shield, just to gain pace. Suddenly the shield of the enemy just poured down and turned into dust. It was as much a shock for the enemy as for Safo.
"Fuc* you! Instead of laughing at my name, you should've focused on the battle. I have killed 21 while you only 9. Catch up first and then you can laugh." Half jested Miloud. In fact, he was impressed by how fast Safo Nur grew. In the heat of the clash, Miloud noticed that Safo used Bait in various ways, which was the purpose of the technique.
"This is not time for a catfight, we have a portal to enter. Let's move." BlackSly pinched Safo's side.
"You are right. I'm excited to see what bonus we will receive." Safo and his team followed the crowd into the cave.
"In case we appear in different villages, try to teleport to the Dwellings of the Living Trees. Safo will finish his secret quest there and it is usually not a very busy place. Alright, at three..." Miloud gave some other instructions and started a countdown. By the end, they all jumped inside the portal.
Safo's body spiraled down the stream. Surroundings were moving with him, all in blue and white color. After a minute of nauseous swirling, Safo finally stopped. A black screen covered his view indicating that he was being teleported.
[ Congratulations on ascending to Cube 2. ]
[ You have earned a bonus: Level up to level 10. ]
[ Your Mental Points are unlocked. ]

[ Additional Bonus opportunity. Would you like to accept the challenge from the Snow Golem Alpha? ]
Safo hovered in nothingness with a confused face. He heard all the notifications and was unimaginably happy about his bonus. He was level 8 by the time of entering the Degradation portal, while the bonus awarded him with level 10 right away. But he was curious about the challenge bonus. In the end, greed took over him and he agreed.
"I accept."
[ Prepare to fight. ]
Black screen swiftly subsided and Safo found himself on a vast white platform. There was no end to the field and no objects could be seen in the vicinity.
"I rejected why I'm here?" A soft confused voice warmed Safo's heart once more. Luna also appeared with him. The system considered them as one player.
"I'm sorry, Luna. It was me, I agreed. I wanted more goodies." Safo smiled apologetically.
"No it is good, I wasn't sure about me winning the Alpha all by myself but together we can do it." Luna jumped cheerfully and drew her bow ready for the battle.
Four meters tall hardened ice golem materialized from blue and white particles.
Roar!
The towering statue moved its hands, covered in snow, and sharp icicles flew out from it. Safo's perception grew by 0.2 after receiving two levels in raw, thanks to the bonus. His perception and the time that he needed to react had been deducted. Easily he moved out of the way of the deadly projectiles. Some that were persistent or Safo couldn't evade he met with his gloves. And again almost no damage was dealt.
“Being level 10 is so awesome. We will kill this monster like a bug.” Safo gave thumbs up to Luna indicating to start her barrage.
Luna's agility stats were higher than Safo's. Meaning that time was even slower for her.
[Name: WorldDestroyer(1)

MP (Mental Points): 200/200
Strength: 1 + 1(orb)

For Luna Ice Golem's movements weren't fast, in no time she released 3 arrows with different elemental damage, and one arrow was launched to hit the icicle that Safo had time to deflect.
[ Ice Golem Alpha HP: 362/400 ]
The first two arrows pierced the golem, but the third arrow, despite being successful in the golem, had an ice element thus didn't do any damage to the ice alpha. Luna didn't stop her attacks even for a second. She used every moment that Safo gave to her.

Safo Nur was a current target to the Alpha Golem. In the same way, as Luna sent a train of arrows towards it, the golem sent a train of icicles towards Safo.
[Health: 43/60 ]
'So what Kutch said about level 10 is right.' Kutch told Safo that every tenth level added to Health an extra five points. In a confrontation with alphas, every bit of health was crucial. 'Still, I need to dodge better.'
Almost twenty minutes and almost dead, Safo and Luna finally released the last nail in the golem's coffin.
[ Congratulations on your victory. ]
[ You have earned a bonus: Strength orb. ]
[ You will be sent to the Runiau Village. ]
"Man I would've never won that alpha. It is only thanks to you we won." Safo hugged blushed Luna before a black screen separated them again.
"See you soon." A faint voice made the darkness warm.
[ Error! ]
[ Unable to identify. ]
[ More than one Soul detected. ]
'Oh, shoot. Is it because I have Luna with me? I hope it won't kick me out of the game as a cheater.'
[ Preparing a "Delete" protocol. ]
'Fuc*! I can't even interact. Usually, I move the mouse like a madman when something unknown happens on my computer.'
[ Protocol denied: Creator's item detected. ]
[ Solution: Advanced Status. ]
[ Available Status: Pro-player. ]
[ Would you like to accept Advanced Status? ]
'Ummm, yes...' Safo was ready to accept anything just to escape the fate of being deleted.
[ Pro-player level one granted. ]
[ You will be sent to the Runiau Village. ]
The darkness seemed to continue for eternity, Safo didn't even guess the meaning of the Pro-player.
'Maybe it is like Donating players or it might mean that I will have to join some championship or create a team, who knows.'
The black screen gradually disappeared, replaced by a picturesque view of a paradise village.
The Runiau Village was an archipelago with an azure ocean around. Hundreds of small islands with a different density of monsters made the village a tourist place. Many players came to have a vacation or a trip to Runiou Volcano. Half active volcano.
Luna appeared next to Safo which made him happy. He was scared that the system could delete only her. For the question about an error and Pro-player status, Luna answered that she didn't receive any system notifications with an error message.
"Good, Let's go buy some teleportation scrolls and meat with others." Glad that everything went smoothly, Safo and Luna walked side by side to the busiest village that they saw in the game so far.
Hundreds of adventures, all different in sizes and appearance, were everywhere. The shopping plaza wasn't small and filled with stalls, it was a huge maze-like place with stalls, shops, boutiques, jewelry, restaurants, and even brothels.
NPCs were more talkative, some even had special roles. Some of them could be a tourist that could start drowning only to be saved by the players, some could have an issue with their girlfriends or boyfriends and a player had to deliver a letter or a gift to make it up. Some of the NPCs could steal personal belongings from the player, some could even challenge for a match.
Cube 2 interaction with the game characters, it had a history, rulers, and a war going on for centuries. The abundance of small side quests made the rest of the Cubes more interesting. Players were never bored.
"Damn, Cube 1, really was a trial of the game. The real game starts now." As usual Safo and Luna received a notification to go and check-in with the Chief of the Runiau Village.
Luna finished her conversation with the Chief, she received a quest to help the villagers with their daily life struggles. The chief asked her to come back when the ten villagers will give her their appreciation letters, only then she could get a "Chief size reward".
Round, cloudy, tanned Chief waited for Safo to come closer to start a welcome chat.
"Greetings Chief of the Runiau Village, I WordlDestroyer came here to help your village, please guide me," Safo said in the opening line.
"Greeting adventurer, unfortunately, you need to be at least level 10 to start a quest in this village. Come back then." The Chief declined Safo's offer.
"How I'm level 1 again?! Fuuucc**!"

Summon Imp!
Travel with a newly born demon as he grows and learns in his own world as well as in other worlds as he gets summoned again and again. Usually to die or kill for others in strange and exciting places, but it's never certain what the next one will bring. It has its perks. With each new world comes a new story with new experiences and new lessons. There is always more to see, more to learn and more to know. Maybe, someday, it will all make sense. For now he will just work hard to become stronger, to be useful and, hopefully, survive that way. A coming-of-age story, but different. Things start to slow down to a crawl. Colors blur into one another until my vision is completely white. All I can think is "Shit, not this again!" I hate being summoned. _________________________________ updates once a week until I get more time The idea for this story began in two places. One was the ridiculously rapid pace of gaining power in many novels. Both in games and in novels, I enjoy the struggle of the beginning character, why always the rush? The other was the way many monster or non-human MCs always seem to hurry to become human (again). It always felt like a cheap way to grant the character extra powers without the difficulty of writing a non-standard thought process. Thus I wanted to write the slow(ish) progression of a monster character gaining strength and intelligence, while remaining distinctly non-human. There are no stats, xp or systems, no reincarnated soul or completely formed being to start with - unless I want to make fun of those. While the MC 'evolves', the process takes months if not years to proceed step by little step. Sit down with me and imagine, what would it be like if...
