Chapter 42: BloodSpot62
Everybody froze in shock.
Arachnid stood calm wearing his creepy smile.
Safo Nur’s body lay motionless on the ground.
Nerdydirtyplayer, couldn’t believe his eyes. He never saw skill like that. Poor guy received only one hit and his health didn't even lessen much after that. So how come he was dead?
"What did you do? ...Brother!" The younger brother started to cry.
"What the fuc*?" A Midget snapped at an arachnid in anger, he was afraid. He received the damage from the needle too.
"How dare you kill one of us?! I will make your game life miserable so much that you won't play this game anymore." The Spearman yelled. They all were friends from school.
In the school that only super-rich kids could afford they were the poorest ones. Cool kids didn't want to spend time with them. So common misfortune brought them together. They started to play Cube to boost their morale, beating up regular folk. But their self-esteem once more had been shaken, some unknown player was harassing them even after they finished quests for top-tier weapons.
Not far from them, a broccoli-like character woke up from the noise.
‘Did I fall asleep in my sleep? Some "Inception" shi* is going on here. What? Who are these people?’ Safo Nur was surprised that somehow he still was in the game, even if he slept. Initially, he believed that if he passed out he would automatically log out from the VD, apparently, it wasn’t the case.
Factually, it was the opposite, one could automatically enter VD falling asleep. Many people used that feature to sleep in luxurious mansions with a harem of girls or men or a mix of both. Some preferred to sleep in picturesque penthouses, in the forest, and many other places that were unreachable for regular usage.
When the group of five saw the tree-man waking up, they instantly knew where to direct their animosity.
"You there, stay where you are, you scum. I will kill you after your friend. So sit and wait for your death in fear, like scum as yourself should." The Spearman was inflamed as hell, he needed revenge. For his friend and mostly for his pride.
‘No, thank you. What's up with these rude people, anyway? And a friend? I never saw that guy before.’ Safo Nur was just talking to himself. No one actually was trying to kill him, it was just a game for him. He couldn’t take anything seriously there. And he remembered Kutch's words about killing players.

In Cube, players should follow the rules of the game. In particular, killing other players. In Cube1 it was prohibited to kill any player or NPC. Fights between adventurers were a common thing but one should never kill another. Or else they would be chased by the guards of the villages and usually ended in jail.
While spending time in jail players could log out but at that moment punishment time stopped and continued when the player logged back in. Which meant gamers should spend the whole sentenced time in jail as in real life.
Punishment time was strictly regulated by the game system. For killing one player - murderers should be in jail for one day. For killing two players - three days in jail. For three people - a week and for four players - a month. For more than five kills, characters would be banned from the game.
That was true if the player that killed another player had been caught by a law enforcement NPC.
Each next Cube added one free kill, Cube 2 - 1 kill, Cube 3 - 2 kills, etc.
But in Cube 1, one peculiar player stood out from all criminals. An infamous serial killer of Cube 1 BloodSpot, or BloodSpot1, BloodSpot2 ... etc, he was banned many dozens of times and came back with a new character every time. No one knew why he did what he did, he terrorized Cube 1 with merciless murders.
When an adventurer with a copper sword died, the arachnid's nickname that was hidden until that moment appeared in red with a small sword icon next to it. It was the indicator of his crime. Sword meant murder, a bag of a gold meant thief, for example.
"BloodSpot62"
"Oh, shi*! Run! We can't win against him. Everybody, run to the village, he cannot enter there." Nerdydirtyplayer couldn’t suppress his panic. He knew about BloodSpot. How skilled he was in martial arts, weapons, and assassinations. Especially his favorite weapon, Worm Quill. Now he understood how he was able to kill the older brother.
Nerdydirtyplayer started to make his way to the Cilla village by walking around the BloodSpot and the other 3 members of his group.
"Get your ass here you coward! I'll double the payment if you help us." The Spearman shouted violently.
Nerdydirtyplayer was ready for anything if the right amount of money had been provided. He decided to join the assault, knowing their predicament.
By that time the midget drank potions and got his health full again. Everyone was ready for the next round. Except for the younger brother, he still was sobbing about his older brother’s death. Nerdydirtyplayer explained to him that his brother was alive and that he would be glad if the younger could kill the green tree player.

Nerdydirtyplayer and the other two players readied themselves for the battle with the most wanted criminal in Cube 1. While the younger brother pointing his copper sword moved to Safo Nur.
“Hey, hey kid, I don’t want to fight you. Go join your friends and let me go, Okay? I mean, alright?” He had no grudge against any of the players and didn’t want to bother himself fighting unnecessary battles, especially with a kid.
"My brother died because of you, you will pay for that." The younger brother motivated himself by his speech and charged forward with a battle cry.
The copper sword that he and his brother fancied to get was the best damage-dealing weapon. The name of the sword was simply - The Power Sword. It multiplied strength by 30. Its user, the younger brother being at level 3 made his total attack - 9, he had no orbs yet. It was an overpowered weapon at higher levels, maxed out level 9 users could kill another level 9 player with one hit.
Siblings paid thousands of zees to get that weapon.
Seeing that, his child-opponent eventually chose to attack, disappointed Safo Nur a bit. But the fight was a fight, he wanted to try out his melee skills against an armed foe.
By lying on the ground Safo Nur fully regenerated his health via his passive skill: Ground's blessing. He was ready to teach brat a lesson.
Safo Nur’s young opponent was rushing with his sword towering above his head.
"You can't hit me with this type of an attack, kid." The offense was so primitive and basic that it wasn't too difficult to see through it and execute a dodge. Safo Nur delivered a right hook immediately after which landed perfectly on the child's face. The younger brother lost his balance and fell. Safo Nur threw a kick on the kid's butt without any force, solely for educational purposes, and then stepped on his opponent's sword.
"Listen, kid, I didn't kill your brother and I don't know that guy. Why are you attacking me?" Safo Nur wasn't against a fight, he was eager to get sparring experience but fighting a child couldn’t bring him any growth.
"Shut up, he killed my brother to protect you." The kid was crying again, helplessly, unable to pull out his sword.
Safo Nur crouched down. "Calm down, listen, maybe that spider tried to kill me and you guys just happened to be witnesses so he wants to kill you too. I don't want to fight you, can we just stay here and watch?" Safo couldn’t take his eyes over the fight that unfolded before him. He was amazed by the spider. Skilled arachnid was the god of fight in Safo’s eyes. Three enraged people were putting everything they had on the field alas with no succession.
Safo’s words started to make sense for the kid when he stopped his struggles for a moment. After giving it a thought, the whole situation cleared up a bit for the kid. His brother should be spawned in the village by now and will head back soon. Their main enemy was the spider guy.
When he wanted to leave his place and help his teammates, the tree-guy didn’t allow him to, saying that he would be killed in an instance. So, both of them stood put and observed in the hope to learn some moves from the arachnid-man.
Four players engaged in a spectacular battle of the monsters. Each wielding a top-tier weapon, unleashing their full power and skills without hesitance.
Golden spear, poisonous claws, and a sword coated in the fire were against a bone needle. All spinning in a deadly dance.
Arachnid despite having three opponents at once had an upper hand. No weapon could even scratch him while he was stabbing his enemies constantly. His moves were unpredictable and sometimes beyond possible. The frustration of his foes was rising higher and higher with each missed attack. Very soon they started to make more mistakes and show more flaws.
The most damaged one was the Spearman, one more hit and he would be dead. He was the most offensive in the trio, however, throwing himself forward just to be pierced by the bone quill once more.
Very soon he made sure to notify his allies that he withdrew from the fight to consume some potions. When he jumped back a couple of times his attention was caught by the sight that ignited his rage even more. His teammate along with the scum tree, stood watching them getting punished. His dignity was hurt. He couldn’t leave things like that.
