Chapter 4: Torture
For a moment, when young people tossed themselves to the giant body and managed to restrain it, and the first kick lent successfully, everybody in the cage felt a spark of hope in their hearts. "If we join too we can aid them and perhaps we actually can escape this place." That is what they thought before a new guy jumped and opened the helmet of the bizarre creature.
Humanoid lion, giant green lion head with darker green mane appeared from the dome-looking metal helmet. Even when it was wearing that helmet creature was intimidating to look at. It was hard to believe that a 3-meter human being could exist. People guessed that he was some kind of abnormally high person who went to the gym and became that wide in shoulders.
But no one even in wildest dreams could imagine a monster like it was. That made their moral crush along with their hopes of freedom. Especially after the terrifying roar which led half of the prisoners to faint and the other half were pretty near to lost their minds.
Guys who dared to attack the huge monster nearly peed themselves. They run hiding back in the cage.
Shame and relief came to them when they realized that the new guy is the person they were looking for. Shame for leaving him behind and shame for feeling comfortable that they are not that guy. Regardless, even if they could they would not dare to attack that kind of creature.
And their hearts sank hearing his cry and pleadings for help. They just could not sacrifice their hope of freedom which was granted by the girl in black.
That is why no one moved when the giant green lion dragged a human to the next room.
As soon as the boy and lion disappeared behind the door a new message popped up on the screen. "Thank you for your cooperation. Please proceed to the Glass room for the exit."
Slowly one by one, with fear that the metal arc will detect another human that they might be interested in, people went to the glass room.
When everyone stood inside the glass room - glass doors closed. They still could hear Safo Nur screaming behind the doors. The girl in black manipulated the remote hanging on her waist. Fizzing sounds came first and then one by one people blacked out.

Absolute, all-pervading fear and panic possessed Safo Nur. He wiggled, wriggled, squirmed, and twisted like never before but all in vain. The tight grip of the mighty green lion was unbreakable.
They both exited the cage room and moved to the next room. In a state of panic, Safo Nur didn't even notice his surroundings. It was a large hallway with several rooms by both sides. The cage room was the last in that corridor.
Giant lion pulled Safo Nur into the next room, and the door automatically closed after them.
Tears non-stop rained from Safo Nur's eyes. He constantly saw the faces of his parents and girlfriend. He cursed a giant green lion, a girl in black, his luck, people in the cage, and himself. He begged for mercy. Nothing worked. The lion was cruel, he kept dragging Safo Nur in silence.
The new room looked a little better than the previous one. The current room was smaller also. Didn't seem that it was used too much. And resembled a doctor's cabinet.
The chair was located in the middle, the same as you can see in dentists' rooms. A rudely dark green lion tugged Safo in the chair and started his attempts of changing him with a bracelet-like thing. They were attached to the chair itself and kept Safo Nur very tight.
Struggles that Safo Nur showed, while he tried to get off from the grip of the lion, were nothing more than an ant trying to escape from the finger of a human. His opponent was too strong.
"Argh!" The new wave of fear flooded his heart when he saw the enormous palm of a lion approaching his face.
With a steady pace, the lion put the last strap over his head while holding his face. Now Safo Nur couldn't move any of his body parts.
Helpless, pitiful Safo Nur now was looking directly at the green eyes of the green lion. Latter sat still in front of him.
"Please...I didn't do anything bad. Please, let me go." His voice was a touch calmer now when there was no direct threat to his life. "Please tell me what I need to do so you will let me go? I will do anything."
Suddenly doors slid open and the girl in tight black leather clothing entered. She went on his side and took off her glossy black helmet. Safo Nur couldn't see her nut he heard her putting on the table.

Another shock, screams of fear, and more useless attempts of breaking free came from Safo Nur. The girl in black revealed herself, she also had dark green short fur with black stripes.
She growled almost frowned, indicating that she is annoyed about his constant screams. She turned to the lion and they started to talk in their animal tongue.
Safo Nur heard only quiet roars and growls; he could only assume that they were talking about him due to their continual gestures towards him.
After some time, the tiger went behind Safo Nur, took something from the drawer, judging from the sounds, and came back. She held a syringe gun in her hand, a smaller type of the same gun that she used to put him into a slumber to kidnap him.
Safo Nur's heartbeat could be heard outside of his body. He was about to have a heart attack. He had no strength left to beg further, he almost gave up on himself and accepted death by human-looking animal's hands.
Harshly she punched his neck with her gun and released content. Safo Nur closed his eyes ready to die. He felt that not even a god can help him with his predicament.
Next ten minutes the trio spent quiet, no one spoke or growled. Safo Nur was slowly losing his senses, it felt like he was poisoned. But he couldn't exactly say what is wrong with him. Soon he lost touch with reality. He was drugged.
His vision changed as if he was looking at some surreal painting. Colors mixed and flow in different directions. His nerves calmed, he was that worried anymore. Safo Nur almost felt happy.
Green spot moved in front of him, it stretched black arms and pinched his arm. No pain or even pressure sensation came from Safo Nur's arm. It was the signal to the green tiger to begin.
She went behind him and started the procedure. She held a long thin wire and sharp blade. Then she gently made a deep cut reaching the back neck bones. Blood sipped from the wound, but Safo Nur couldn't feel a thing.
Black and green tiger reached for some unknown device and attached it to the exposed bone. The device began to drill a hole. After 20 seconds of screeching drilling, an unpleasant smell of burned bone spread to the room. Safo Nur still was unfazed.
The next step was inserting the silver wire in the device which in its turn pushed the ends of the wire inside of the bone. From there one side went towards the brain and the other through the spine of Safo Nur. It is then that even highly drugged Safo Nur began to feel unbearable pain.
Pain that he had never had before in his life tormented his body and mind. Every couple of seconds Safo Nur fainted, his consciousness was unable to comprehend with such an amount of pain. In order, to keep itself sane his brain shut off itself but then brought it back again by burning agony. And when he was awake he screamed like mad.
The device slowly kept on doing its job. It didn't take long though, but for Safo Nur everything seemed to continue for ages.
The tiger girl detached the device only to replace it with another one. It was bigger than the first one and didn't bring pain with itself. As a matter of fact, it healed the cut, the flesh was regenerating, muscles found each other and connected back. Soon the surface of the skin completely clothed itself and there was no sign of a cut at all.
Tiger girl opened a small box, she picked up a sticker the size of a palm and slapped it on the back of Safo Nur's neck right where the healed-up cut was.
The action of the drug came to an end, Safo Nur's vision normalized. He was deprived of any sense or feeling. His body and mind were exhausted, he was too tired to even maintain his eyes open. The Green lion and tiger were talking to each other through roars and growls.
An unexpected thing happened when he closed his eyes and almost fell asleep. He heard a human speech that gave new hope to his heart. He widened his eyes to locate humans and shout for help. But what he saw shocked his world entirely.
"Do... you...understand...me?" Said giant greed lion stretching every syllable.

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have. But please don't worry, contingencies have already been implemented to maximize the effect of the little support we can give. Thus we ask you, to work together in stemming the coming tide, so that humanity may remain on the victorious side. As long as humanity beliefs, there is hope.Yours truly,God of public relations

A self-proclaimed seeker of peace and his trusty "system" venture on a journey to flip the world on its back—in a civilized manner, of course. Edris has always aimed for a peaceful, carefree life, but the world around him? Not so much. It started with encountering the amnesic, system-like entity in his head. From there, only absurdities followed. Aristocratic conspiracies, mismatched identities, intercontinental wars... Hold on—did he just get called a prophet? In any case, as the world descends into chaos, Edris's carefree life may be just a bit further away than expected.
