《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 116 Old Steady

There was an old man with his eyes closed. He had long white hair. He wore a rough brown robe. He had a wizened face. He was sitting criss-cross on a boulder. The wind blew over him and he opened his eyes slowly. His eyes were black with knowledge and he looked up at the sky.
The sky was clear blue and it looked beautiful to him. A dirty diamond-haired boy walked toward him with a smile. The wind rushed around him and pushed the boy back a little.
“Why have you come here,” said the old man.
“To chit chat,” said Eszero.
“What do you wish to talk about?”
“How old are you?”
The old man fell into deep thoughts. He replied with uncertainty.
“I am old, older than this world.”
Eszero smiled, “That’s pretty old, what do you do?”
“I do nothing, I simply exist.”
Eszero seemed to frown.
“Don't you have any goals or ambition?”
The old man replied with certainty, “None.”
Eszero narrowed his eyes slightly, he was dissatisfied with the old man’s answer. The old man saw Eszero’s dissatisfaction, he spoke with a wizened voice.
“I know you seek meaning, and I know you know there is no meaning, why do you seek something that doesn't exist?”
Eszero had a calm face, the wind blew strands of his hair into the air. Thoughts passed through his head, and he thought about what would happen if he destroyed the world.
“That would be meaningless,” said the old man. “Your kind have always sought things that can’t be obtained.”
“The more the better,” said Eszero.
“There should be a stopping place,” said the old man.
Eszero's eyes turned cold, extremely cold. The old man looked at him calmly and did not fear him, he felt no fear for Eszero.
“Perhaps, I can give you an answer that might satisfy you.”
“What is it?” Eszero asked coldly.

“Go back to her, live with her, see if there is something different,” said the old man.
“No,” replied Eszero.
“You fear it?” the old man arched his right eye slightly.
“No,” replied Eszero.
“You do fear it,” the old man said knowingly.
Eszero’s gaze turned a little sour.
“You have so many selves, each of them you want something from,” said the old man with a small smile.
Eszero’s face turned calm and the old man’s gaze became dull.
“This conversation is over,” said the old man with a cold gaze.
The old man disappeared and Eszero was left alone with his thoughts. The wind no longer blew and it seemed as if time became silent.
“I want to see all the pictures in the world,” said Eszero, “but before that, I should paint one myself.”
Tai Shen appeared in front of Eszero and Eszero smiled brightly at him with a friendly gaze. Tai Shen's memories had been altered and the Eszero in front of him was the same one he took as his teacher.
“Want to be friends Tai Shen?” Eszero asked with a smile.
“Uh,” Tai Shen was currently stunned, he remembered swimming in a river and now he’s suddenly here, “ok.”
“Thank you, Tai Shen, our parents would be happy if they found out.”
Tai Shen’s eyes widened, “Parents?”
Eszero nodded, “Don’t worry about that for now, I need you to listen to my problem and give me therapy.”
Green bean bags appeared behind Tai Shen and Eszero and they fell on them. Tai Shen was still shocked at how fast the situation advancing but he calmed himself and decided to listen to Eszero.
Eszero looked up at the sky and Tai Shen looked at him calmly.
“You see Tai Shen, I was born in a world where all that one wants can be easily obtained, from the day I was born, anything that I desired could easily be obtained.”

Tai Shen became surprised, he wondered what kind of world it was where everything can easily be obtained.
“After my death, I was able to become something that can obtain anything.”
Tai Shen was surprised again and he tried to process Eszero’s world calmly. From what Eszero told him, Tai Shen concluded that Eszero was a rich kid that had everything they wanted. Looking at Eszero’s sad, dull, depressed, and lost gaze, Tai Shen saw what kind of person Eszero was.
“I have everything Tai Shen, but I want more, but it's impossible to get more if I already have everything.”
Eszero looked down from the sky and looked at Tai Shen.
“Tell me, Tai Shen, what must I do to obtain more than everything.”
Tai Shen collected his thoughts and spoke.
“You already have everything, so it's impossible to have more things.”
Tai Shen looked at Eszero calmly with thoughts.
“Can you catch the wind?”
Eszero made a small smile. The wind blew by and he caught it with his hand. He moved the wind towards Tai Shen and Tai Shen touched it with curiosity. He could feel the wind in his hand and felt it was solid. He looked back at Eszero.
“Can you turn this whole world blue?”
Eszero nodded and the whole world instantly turned blue. Tai Shen was amazed and he looked around at his blue surroundings. He thought to himself and wondered what Eszero couldn’t do.
“I can do anything,” Eszero said with a smile.
Tai Shen fell into deep thoughts, he tried to think of something Eszero couldn’t do.
“Can you turn the world back to its original colors without using your powers?”
A hint of surprise flashed in Eszero’s eyes and he shook his head.
Tai Shen smiled, “Then that’s one thing you don't have.”
Eszero smiled, “You’re right.”
Tai Shen suddenly had a thought. He looked at Eszero with a bright smile.
“Since you have everything, why don’t you give everything?”
Eszero stopped smiling and his expression became thoughtlessly thoughtful.
“Where I come from, atheists don't take kindly to such ideas.”
Tai Shen became confused. He thought about it for a moment and understood. He then spoke with certainty.
“Do their opinion matter though?”
Eszero shook his head, gave Tai Shen a small smile, and spoke.
“Their opinion doesn't matter, but you can say I’m one of them, also, I don't like playing god.”
Tai Shen’s face was expressionless.
“Aren’t you already playing god?”
Surprise and shock flashed through Eszero’s eyes and his face became cold. Tai Shen became surprised at his change of expression. Eszero looked down at his two hands and opened them. The right hand and the left hand gave him different choices. He looked up at Tai Shen with calm, the wind blew and made their hair flutter.
“You are right, but I am no god,” said Eszero.
“Did you find what you were looking for then?”
Eszero nodded his head with a smile.
“I did.”
“Can you send me back now?”
“Sure, there’s a new teacher for you though, she’s part of my soul.”
Darkness engulfed Tai Shen and he reappeared back at the river. Jules appeared in front of him and greeted him.
Eszero stood up and looked up at the sky. If he somehow manages to reach absolute nothing, then he would like to see the creator of all. He disappeared into darkness and closed his eyes, light shot out from his body. Each light was a piece of his soul that could become a pillar. He would wait through everything by sleeping. Once enough world branches are controlled, he would wake up and go to the true world of existence or the two-dimensional world.

Travelers [DROPPED]
DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?
