《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 113 Old Misery

Jill was in the form of an old woman with haggard hair. She wore a thick hooded black robe and in her hand was a walking stick. She was walking through a forest with trees that had no leaves. The sky was filled with clouds, stars, and moons. She picked up a blue mushroom and munched on it. Her rotten teeth tore through the flesh of the mushroom as a crisp soft sound echoed through the air.

She was here in the forest to clear her mind and do something. Her silver old eyes glistened under the moon. She coughed with a hoarse throat. She took a deep breath of cold air and trotted through the forest silently. Every time she saw a mushroom of any shape or color, she would pick one up and eat it. A tiny winged night fairy landed on her shoulders, it looked at Jill curiously and Jill gave it a single glance before stuffing a mushroom with some dirt into her mouth.

She kept walking and the night fairy stayed on her shoulder. Jill came across a blue glowing four-petal flower. Her old hand reached out and caressed the stem of the flower. There were no sharp needles on the flower, only a smooth soft body.

She touched the leaf of the flower and there were no sharp needles on them. The flower was an innocent flower, it had not experienced a hard life that would give it needles. She touched the petal of the flower and felt soft powder on it. She moved her pointer finger towards the center of the flower and some of its yellow pollen got on her finger.

She moved her hand back and decided to not pick the flower. She continued walking and came across a red white dotted mushroom. It was a mushroom as big as her hand. She reached out her old wrinkled hand and pulled the mushroom up from the ground.

Under the mushroom, she could see its many roots covered with dirt.

"What a beautiful mushroom," Jill said to herself.

She did not eat the mushroom and kept it inside her robe. Her mind was getting clearer and clearer as she walked through the forest. Every step and every breath she took seemed to take more and more of her life away. She seemed frail, old, and weak.

The forest became silent, there was not a single thing making noise. Jill hummed a tune to herself as she kept walking. The night fairy on her shoulder sensed danger and flew away. Jill kept walking and didn't seem to care, the trees with no leaves got denser and the forest became darker.

Soon, she stepped into the darkness where not even the light from the moon touched the ground. The ground became moist and Jill’s footstep became softer, it seemed as if she was disappearing into the forest.

Jill came to a big tree with a hollow hole at its bottom. She kneeled at the tree and grabbed at the dirt in the hole. She carefully and weakly started digging. The ground was very moist and she easily pried the dirt away. Time passed and the hole got bigger and bigger, but Jill did not stop digging.

Morning came and a single ray of light reached into the dark forest. The ray of light landed on Jill and she seemed to love it and hate it. She felt the light expose her while making her warm. She did not stop digging and kept digging.

The ray of light grew bigger and bigger as the days passed and it soon got smaller and smaller as night came closer and closer. At night, when the moon was up, she had finished digging. The hole was big enough for her to fit in and she moved her old body into the hole.

She got in a comfortable position and reached her hand out the hole. She grabbed the dirt she had dug and pulled them towards the hole to cover it up. Hand by hand, she pulled more dirt towards the hole. After a while, the hole was covered with dirt and Jill gave into exhaustion. Her old body felt weak and tired and it relaxed. Her eyes became dry with dullness and her messy old hair seemed to lose its toughness.

The forest with the covered hole became silent and night passed. Morning came but nothing moved from the hole. Days after days started passing and the covered hole started growing black mushrooms.

One day at night, the sound of a cricket echoed throughout the forest. A cricket hopped and hopped and came towards the hole. The cricket hopped to a mushroom and took a bite out of it. It happily ate till it was full. It had eaten so much that it could no longer move.

The dirt rose and the cricket became afraid. It tried to move and hop away but it couldn't. An old hand that was very bony rose from the dirt. It gently grabbed the cricket and pulled itself back under the dirt. The forest became silent again.

Under the covered hole, an old creature with a smelly smell opened its eyes. Its eyes were pure white and it seemed the creature was blind. The mushroom above the covered hole had grown on her back. The creature looked at the cricket in its hand and moved it to its mouth.

It opened its mouth and one can see its rotten teeth. The cricket struggled as it went into the creature's mouth and was bitten. The oily juice and fatty organ erupted from the cricket's organs. Jill's eyes glisten with some light and seemed to like the nutritious taste of the cricket. The crunchy taste, oily juice, and fat organs were crunched, chewed, and licked in her mouth.

She savored every part of the cricket. She even licked her fingers and a suckling sound rang out. After she was done, she was satisfied and fell asleep.

Days after days started passing, but no insects or sound came and appeared in the silent leafless forest. One day at night, the mushroom in the covered hole rose. An old hunched creature with mushrooms on its back rose from the ground. The creature had old white long hair and two wet white eyes. Its skin was wrinkly black hard, it had sharp nails, and it wore a tattered black robe with a hood.

The two eyes seemed to be hungry as they searched the surroundings. It looked around but could not find anything to eat. It kneeled to the ground and dug up the dirt below it. It stuffed its mouth full of dirt and swallowed. It did not seem satisfied as it stuff more dirt into its mouth and kept eating. After a while, it stopped eating dirt and moved through the dark dense pointy forest silently.

As it moved, it did not make any sound, it was trying to hear a noise. As long as it heard a noise, it would hunt after it. After traveling through the dense forest for a long time, Jilk saw the night sky with stars again. She smiled for a moment then her emotions turned lost.

"Help!" Jill screamed with a voice that could strike down the soul of men.

After screaming, she went to a tree and hid behind it. Time passed and three armored soldiers came into the forest. They had torches and swords. They seemed alert and ready to attack. One of them whispered to another.

"Should I scream for where they're at?"

"No!" the leader reprimanded in a harsh quiet voice.

"This forest gives me a feeling of being watched, let's leave and report that there was nothing," said another.

Suddenly, Jill rushed from behind the tree and attacked. Although she looked weak, she was very strong. Her body crash into one of the soldiers and she clawed at his face. He screamed in pain and fear while the other two were stunned and scared.

The leader regained his calm and stabbed his sword into Jill's back. Jill felt immense pain, and she screeched with a shrilling voice that sent fear into the leader. The leader let go of his sword that was stuck in Jill's back and he backed away.

"Kill it you idiot," the leader screamed.

The soldier came out of his stunned state and hacked at Jill with his sword. The sword collided with Jill's hard wrinkly flesh and she bled with black blood. Her mind made her forget about her pain and she stabbed her sharp nail into the soldier's helmet slit.

The soldier screamed with pain and fear as he lost his vision. The leader kicked Jill away and took the sword from the soldier. He brought the sword up and hacked at Jill. Misery of pain came from Jill as the leader slammed his sword on Jill over and over again. Jill brought her arms up to defend but they were hacked on and broken.

Defenseless, Jill could only take a beating as every hit brought her great pain and misery. Every time the sword struck, a shrill scream of pain escaped from Jill's throat. The leader did not stop until not a single sound could be heard from Jill. Jill had become unconscious from blood loss and pain and the forest regained silence.

In her unconscious mind, Jill seemed to remember a memory she had with Eszero. The two of them were in a garden drinking tea peacefully together.

"You shouldn't be too kind or always kind," said Eszero.

"Why not?" asked Jill.

"Not everyone will do the same for you," said Eszero.

"That's fine," said Jill.

"I have a proposal," said Eszero.

"What is it?" asked Jill.

"You become a monster for ten years in another world and see how people treat you, after ten years, let's talk again, shall we?" said Eszero.

Jill saw that Eszero was looking down on her, out of the five pillars of Eszero, she considered Jim to be the weakest, yet it seemed Eszero thought she was the weakest. She wanted to try and prove him wrong, perhaps it might be a new grand experience for her.

“Sure,” replied Jill.
