He understood that his body used some void essence to heal his body and increase his agility. Jim got up and went out of his cave quietly, he was no longer going to cause a ruckus and hunt till he became very strong.

He went to a small hole hoping for temcles tentacles to rush out but none did, it seems the temcles could detect if its prey was currently too much for it. Jim could dig at the hole but that would be a waste of energy.

Jim headed towards a bigger hole and temcles tentacles rushed out. Jim bit the tentacles and dragged out the temcles. Out in the open, the temcles tried to flee but Jim quickly brought it down to the ground and gorged at it alive. The temcles made screech of pain but Jim quickly shut it up.

Behind a stalagmite, a flat one-foot bug with folded dark hard shell looked at Jim. Its two antennae waved in the air while its beady eyes focussed on the temcles. Its sharp short leg wanted to run towards the temcles but its fearful instincts told it not to. The scent the dying temcles made attracted it.

Seeing that it couldn't go towards the temcles Jim was eating, it went towards another hole. Temcles tentacles rushed out and dragged it inside, it tried to struggle but it couldn't. The jaw of the temcles opened and grinded at its hard body. Its shell broke and the temcles devoured it.

Jim finished eating and he gained 25 void essence, it seemed bigger temcles gave bigger rewards. Looking around the cave, Jim wondered whether he should continue hunting or hunt another day. He took a moment to think about it and decided to keep hunting. The unknown knowledge told him he could become a scale 1 void creature if he raised his stats high enough.

Jim went to another three big holes and devoured the temcles inside them. As he looked around the cave while looking for more big holes, he found that there were none left and there were no more holes in the deeper part of the cave.

It seems, the territory of the temcles ended here, he would have to head to the left side of the cave to find new temcles territory. But he did not want to go further into the left side of the cave, that was where the bouthall went.

Suddenly, Jim felt like he was trapped. There were most likely stronger void creatures on the left and right sides of the cave. Jim went inside the hole of the four temcles he killed and decided to upgrade himself with the 104 void essence he obtained. He decided to put some void essence into void energy, maybe it would help him with hunting.

When he spent the void essence on void energy, he saw that there was a different kind of stat for void energy. His body did not grow stronger but he suddenly felt void energy coursing within himself. He instinctively opened his mouth and void energy gathered.

He could feel his void energy lessening and he stopped gathering void energy. There was a purple ball of harmful void energy in his mouth and he fired it out. The purple ball flew out towards the wall of the hole and exploded. A loud bang spread throughout the cave and the wall in the hole shattered.

Jim suddenly felt scared, he thought the hole was going to collapse and wanted to get out. But after a while, it seems the hole was strong enough to withstand that attack and wouldn't collapse. Jim made a note to himself to not attack the wall inside the hole. He looked at the void energy within his stats and saw that it had shrunk to 40 void energy.

Feeling the wonderful power of void energy, Jim decided to spend his void essence and get his void energy up to 100. Upon doing that, his stats changed more and he became very surprised.

A notification showed up in front of Jim and unknown knowledge came upon him. He realized it was rewarding him and he became excited.

Looking at the options, he became hesitant and was afraid to choose. A hundred void essence would save some time and would be very helpful right now. An evolutionary transformation would change the creature he currently was but would that make a difference? Thinking of the bouthall, he wondered if he could change into it. Unknown knowledge came upon him and told him he could if he got it as an option randomly.

Looking at the third option, Jim didn't bother to think about it, he still wanted to keep a strong body. The fourth option would give him plating like his head and would be very useful for battle and survival, Jim liked it very much. The fifth option was one that Jim wanted to have and needed, it would allow him to detect void creatures around him, this would be very useful.

Jim thought hard for a long time between plating and void scanner. After a while, he decided to go for the fifth option since he could obtain plating with evolution. After his thoughts seemed to be confirmed by the status, unknown knowledge came upon him. The knowledge told him that the void scanner can only be used within one hundred meters and it would scale with his void energy.

Jim used the void scanner and a screen with a list of void creatures showed up in front of him.

Jim didn't know what Prinor and Sciplin were, but he didn't like that there were humans. They were most likely attracted to the noise he made in his hole. Immediately, Jim left the hole and went to another empty big hole. While he moved towards the new hole, his void energy slowly replenished. It would take around two days to restore the void energy he lost.

Inside Jim's consciousness, JJ sighed, if he was Jim, he would have taken the transformation reward. That reward was the best and Jim would have hit the jackpot if he picked it. Unfortunately, his worldview wasn't wide enough for him to see that.

Jim hid inside his new hole and the human looked around for a bit. They were all armored and geared. They did not attack anything in the cave and soon left. After they left, Jim came out and decided to hunt a sciplin.

The scanner told him that one was in front of him but he couldn't see it. There was only a bump of ground in front of Jim and the scanner told him that was the sciplin. Jim brought his paw up and slammed it on the ground. He heard a crack and realized there was a flat one-foot bug with a folded dark hard shell. Jim became happy and ate the creature. The crunchiness made biting it feel wonderful to Jim.

Jim went to more sciplin and ate them, each sciplin gave him 3 void essences. While he ate, he thought of the three prinor and wondered what they were. He followed the scanner and reached a stalagmite. Jim wondered if the stalagmite was going to move and attack him.

Jim condensed a purple ball with 10 void energy in his mouth and fired. The ball collided with the stalagmite and it broke apart with a splash of purple blood.

A screech of pain rang out and the ground under the stalagmite broke apart. A long body of dark folded hard skin rose from the ground. The creature was five meters long and a foot wide with a broken stalagmite horn and it started to slither away.

Jim was cautious and didn't try to attack it. The prinor didn't get far before it bleed to death from its broken stalagmite horn. Jim dragged its corpse back to a hole and cleaned up the trail of blood it left behind by licking them away.

After cleaning the trail, he went back to the cave and ate while checking the data the scanner collected and calculated from his memories.
