《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 86 Intimidation

In a forest full of butterflies and flowers, a blond haired boy with golden eyes and a white haired girl with white eyes ran through the flower. They were twins and five years old. The boy was named Malene, and the girl was named Galene.
"Brother, look at this butterfly," Galene said with a smile as she held out her palm with a white butterfly in it.
Galene looked at the butterfly, the butterfly was fully white and it seemed to have no color other than white. Among all the colorful butterflies, this butterfly seemed bland and common.
"What about the butterfly?" Malene asked with curiosity.
"Don't you think it's special?" said Galene with a smile.
"No," Malene replied confused, "it seems less special than the other butterflies, why do you think it's special.”
“Doesn't it remind you of dad?” Galene said with a smile.
Malene thought of his dad and the butterfly did indeed remind him of his dad. The butterfly would be more like his dad if it had a scar running through its wing. The butterfly flew up from Galene’s palm and she became surprised, she wanted the butterfly to stay in her palm longer so she chased after it.
"Come back, butterfly," Galene said loudly as she ran towards the butterfly with her little leg under her puffy skirt.
"Wait for me," said Malene as he got up and chased after his sister.
The two chased the butterfly and came to the edge of the forest. Their parents had told them not to go into the forest because there were scary monsters. Looking at the butterfly and remembering what her parents said, Galene stopped and so did Malene. Galene seemed sad as she watched the butterfly disappear.
"It's ok," said Malene cheerfully, "there are other butterflies in the flower field."
Remembering the other butterflies, Galene became cheerful and followed her brother back to the flower field.
"Don't leave,” said a tiny voice, “follow me.”
The twins turned towards the voice and found the white butterfly. They were surprised it could speak but accepted it.
“Mom said to not go in the forest,” Malene said to the butterfly.
“Yeah,” Galene said curiously, she was happy the butterfly came back to talk to them.
The white butterfly came close to them and flapped around them, “But there is so much to see and do in the forest,” said the butterfly.
The butterfly then turned into a tiny human wearing a dress made of green leaves, its wing became sharp and translucent, fluttering rapidly in the air. Galene and Malene instantly recognized the creature as a fairy. Their father had read a story about fairies to them, he said they were helpful, playful, joyful, and kind.

“Dad said you are nice, but he said we can't go into the forest,” Malene said helplessly.
“It's okay, he doesn't have to know, it can be our little secret,” said the fairy.
The two siblings looked at each other with confliction, they wanted to follow the fairy but they knew their dad and mom would get mad. The fairy said their father doesn't have to know, but he somehow always knew when the two of them did something bad. Seeing them hesitate, the fairy laughed and flew away.
Malene and Galene wanted to follow after it, but they decided not to. Their dad had often told them stories of children getting lost in the forest, never to be seen again. They liked the fairy and trusted it, but their dad's stories about the forest made them wary.
The two turned back from the forest and went to the flower field to play with the colorful butterflies. The fairy saw them leave and was disappointed, it wanted to play with them in the forest, but it seems it was not to be.
The fairy flew into the forest and a delicate hand slowly reached out from behind the tree and grabbed it. The fairy tried to struggle, but it couldn't. The hand moved into the shadow and the fairy saw a man with white long hair and a right blind eye with a white pupil.
Looking in the white pupil of the man, the fairy became frozen with fear, it tried to use magic to get out but it couldn't. The hand opened up and it quickly flew away. It looked back but couldn't see the man. This made it more scared and it flew away as quickly as it can.
The man looked at the fairy fly away and turned his gaze towards the flower field where Galene and Malene were playing, he smiled a warm smile and disappeared. Only the wind spoke of his presence.
In a small house by the flower field, a woman with blond hair and red cracks all over her body was cooking. Her golden eyes scanned the carrot and chicken meat with precision. She picked up a kitchen knife and proceeded to cut at the chicken meat. Slice by slice, she cut quickly.
She pulled out a cup of grains and dumped them in a pot with boiling water. She proceeded to clean the chicken meat of blood and tossed them into the pot. The carrots, vegetables, and other spices and flavors were tossed into the pot.

She watched carefully as the food slowly cooked. When the food wasn't cooking to her liking, she would toss some mana in and fix it. The fire under the pot warmed the surrounding area and the food started to smell good. A man came inside her house, it was her husband. Her children came in after him.
"Mom, is the food done?" Galene asked with a joyful smile.
"Yes," Merinna replied, "help your father set up the table."
Her two children smiled and got plates from the kitchen cabinet. Their father reached towards the higher cabinet and got bigger plates. Looking at her family, Merinna became inexplicably happy. When she and Galvion had married long ago, this was the dream and life she always wanted, and it had finally come true. She was living her dream, a dream she hoped would last forever.
The food was done cooking and she passed out the food. The four of them ate happily while Galene and Malene talked about what happened today. Even though she and her husband knew what happened today, she still listened to her two children patiently. Galvion would speak softly and warmly to her and their children.
He had changed, looking back to the time when they were young, Galvion had always seemed joyful and wild. While she was also joyful and wild. The two of them did not seem different from each other, and the village had always openly stated that the two would one day marry. So when the day came, they married.
Thinking of the village, her mood soured a little. The people that had wrong them had long ago all died of old age. Looking back at her family, her mood became happier. She looked towards Galvion and saw that he was also happy, this made her happy more. The four of them played and eat and when night came, they slept together in a big bed like a happy family.
Under the night in the flower field, a creature that was made of flowers and vines looked enviously at the sleeping family. It also wanted to have a happy family just like the family it was seeing.
It moved its vines towards the family and felt its soul crushed away into nothingness. Galvion opened his eyes and looked at Merinna who also opened her eyes. They smiled softly at each other and caressed their sleeping children, no matter what happened in the world, the two of them will protect their family that was their happiness for as long as they live.
Morning soon came and Galvion and Merinna woke up their sleepy children. The two of them made breakfast and their children ate hungrily. Looking at their little mouth chew their food, Galvion became inexplicably happy. His son looked at him strangely wondering what his father was thinking while staring at him.
"What are you think about dad?" Malene asked?
"I don't know,” Galvion said with a smile, “what do you think I'm thinking about?”
Malene used his little head and thought for a moment, what was his dad thinking about? Galene ate her dinner while also thinking. The two of them knew their dad loved them but they never knew what their dad was thinking about. When they were in thoughts, their dad always knew what they were thinking about.
Galvion reached his right hand over and patted their little head. They stopped thinking and looked at him. From the corners of their eyes, they saw their mother smiling warmly.
"Would you like to go on a vacation?" Galvion asked.
"What's going on a vacation?" Galene asked confused.
"Yeah what is it?" Malene asked with curiosity.
“Going on a vacation means going to a faraway place where you can relax,” Galvion said with a smile, “Would you like to go on a vacation?”
The twins beamed, they had always lived in their small home area and wondered what the outside world was like.
“Yes, yes, yes,” the two of them replied while jumping up and down.
“Alright settle down,” Merinna said with a smile, “finish your food and we’ll leave for a vacation soon.”
The twins calmed down and proceeded to eat their food quickly. Galvion and Merinna took their time eating.
“Let's race to see who can finish all their food faster,” Malene said with a grin, he then proceeded to eat away at his food faster.
Galene didn't want to lose proceeded to eat her food faster. Galvion and Merinna watched the two eat with a small happy smile, they also ate their food a little faster to intimidate their two children.

The Perks of Immortality
This story will no longer be updated. After living decades and dying hundreds of times, Kegan has learned that he has finally passed some test that the cruel spirit had given him. Now, Kegan has the ability to gain “perks” that can make his life much easier. He is looking forward to finally having an easy life with the new perks he has earned. Rules to keep me honest for the perk system: Spoiler: Spoiler 1. The purpose of perks is to help the MC live longer and do new things each life. 2. The perks can be unlocked by getting hurt or killed. 3. The perks can be unlocked by putting in a lot of effort that isn’t easily duplicated in a new life. 4. Perks are generally beneficial enhancements to the MC’s body. 5. Perk costs can be lowered with more impressive achievements to unlock them. 6. Perk costs can be lowered by repeated death or injury from something the perk protects against. 7. Perk costs are increased for quality of life improvements that don’t benefit survival. I want to avoid one of the pitfalls I see for other LitRPG stories where the game elements barely relate to the story, or offer very little information. If people are skipping over and not reading the perks then I'm doing things wrong. So I promise to try and make the perks interesting, sometimes humorous, informative, and relevant to the story.Cover art by http://dertypaws.com/
