《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 85 One for you and Me

Tesra was sleeping and the sun shined through the cottage window, she opened her blue eyes. She stretched and got out of her bed. Walking down the hall, she saw Jill’s bedroom, she knew that the hologram of Jill was on the moon but she still missed Jill.

She was now a thirty-year-old grown woman, wearing a leather suit that allowed her to move easily throughout the forest. She made a quick breakfast and ate. The bread with the soup tasted good and it appetized her. Looking at the sun, she held her head in her head. The cottage seemed quite lonely and unlively. The filtering of wings from outside gave her comfort that Fluff was still with her.

While she had been living in the cottage, she had increased her mana along with her other physical stats and she was now low rank 4. As a low rank 4, Tesra felt quite confident in herself, even if she knew there were others far more powerful than her.

A fawn came out of the forest and ran towards her cottage. A black fane wolf came out of the forest and bit into the fawn's leg. It strangled the fawn around and Tesra stopped Fluff from attacking. The wolf crippled the fawn's leg and proceeded to tear through its throat.

It started dragging the fawn's carcass away and Tesra followed after it. The wolf went through the dense forest flora while making sure to avoid enemies it detected. It dragged the fawn far and reached a den. Looking into the den, Tesra saw hungry wolf pups that bit softly at the fawn's meat.

Tesra looked back at herself, when she was young she wanted everyone to hold hands and be peaceful with each other. As a child, she did not understand why there was a need for violence and why everyone tried to hurt each other. When she became powerful, she wanted to force her will of peace on the entire world. She remembered Jay and her fighting over it.

Jay told her she was far too weak and making a change that way won't last forever. She argued against Jay, but she couldn't win. They didn't have a fallout with each other but Tesra had felt distant from Jay because he didn't support her ideal.

As a low rank 4, Tesra was confident she could force peace onto the entire continent. But her younger self had always thought it was wrong to force her will on others. As she grew up into an adult, she realized she still believed it was wrong to force her will on others but her ideals of peace could only be fulfilled through force. Realizing her confliction, she had always felt dissatisfied.

To ease her dissatisfaction, she asked Jay for help. Jay told her there were many kinds of peace, but one main thing about peace was that the person or things that had peace had no big troubles they couldn't handle. Currently, Tesra had no trouble that she couldn't handle, so it could be said she was at peace.

The wolf having to feed its young was troublesome but it wasn't too big of a problem for the wolf so it could be said that the wolf was currently at peace. For the fawn, it had not been at peace a while ago, but in death, it could have been said to have attained peace.

Tesra opened her palm, she thought of her father. She didn't know where her father was in death but she would like to see him again. She closed her palm and disappeared into the sky flying. She sent a message to Fluff to stay at the cottage.

Tesra flew and reached one of the harbors of Bikal. She flew down while invisible into an alley and revealed herself. The city had grown bigger and seemed more prosperous but the starving children on the street made Tesra disdain the city. She reached the fountain square and saw some kids trying to drink fresh water. The guards cane and proceeded to shove them painfully away.

Looking at what the guards were doing, Tesra wanted to crush their skulls and help the children. Sally was nearby and saw Tesra, the two came up to each other with a smile. The surrounding people looked at them with schemes and intention. The two walked away from the fountain square while speaking to each other telepathically.

“I still don't understand why you choose to live in this dirty place,” said Tesra.

“It's where I was born and where I'll be staying for a long time,” Sally replied with a small smile.

“There must be something more,” Tesra said meaningfully.

Sally nodded, there was indeed more. “The city lord has control over something I greatly value that my mother gave to me as a child, it's one of the last precious things I had of from her.”

“Did he take it by force?” Tesra asked.

“No,” Sally replied, “when I was still a kid on the street, he saw my talent and said he would let me work for him if I gave him my mother’s gift. I gave him the gift and after a slip of the tongue, he realized it was something precious to me and forced me to stay here or he would destroy it.”

“Why don't you take it back by force?” Terra asked.

Sally shook her head, “I already have it back on me, but he has it bound to his life and if he dies, the gift will break. I’m currently trying to create a spell that would sever the connection.”

A young brown haired man who had a decent face came up to Sally and Tesra. He wore a suit and seemed like a noble.

“Miss Sally, good day to see you, would you let me spend some time with you and your friend?” He said with a smile. He scanned Tesra closely and requested information about her from his subordinate.

Sally nodded and the three kept walking. The two spoke to each other telepathically while the young man analyzed the two of them from the corners of his eyes. His servant and guards followed after him.

“Who is he?” Tesra asked.

“He Lakib Hirel, one of the city lord’s son,” Sally replied, “someone who’s trying to make me fall in love with him so he can become city lord with ease, many of the city lord children are trying to court favors with me, including his daughters.”

“Is he successful?” Tesra asked with a smile inside her head.

“Nope,” replied Sally.

“Once you get your gift, your out of here right?” Tesra calmly asked.

“Yes, I plan on going somewhere far and nice,” replied Sally.

“Why don't you come live with me, I'm feeling quite bored,” Tesra said with hope.

“Let me think about it,” replied Sally, “by the way, what’s your current rank?”

“Low rank 4,” replied Tesra.

Sally widened her eyes with surprise, she and Tesra were tied neck to neck. She didn't tell the city lord about her advancement, in case he made things difficult for her.

“I’m low rank 4 too,” replied Sally with a smile.

Tesra nodded, she wasn't surprised, Sally had enough talent to achieve it. Lakib saw they were speaking telepathically and was curious.

“What are you two speaking about?” he asked curiously.

“Just about where we'll be fishing,” Sally replied.

A boy ran into the road and a carriage came rushing towards the him. Lakib rushed forward and saved the boy, he looked at the boy with relief.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

The boy nodded with fear and quickly left.

Lakib went back to Tesra and Sally and they moved on.

“Isn’t he a nice guy?” Tesra asked sarcastically.

“He sure is,” Sally answered sarcastically.

Their mana perception range was far and they had detected long ago that the kid was set up by Lakib subordinate to make him look good. The three walked far and reached a quiet beach with a cliff behind them. They took out their fishing pole and Lakib took out his. While they fished, Sally and Tesra spoke telepathically and Lakib didn't interrupt even though he felt a little uncomfortable.

“Say,” said Tesra, “what other things has he done to earn your favor?”

“He’s tried to start an orphanage,” replied Sally.

“Did that orphanage work out?” Tesra asked.

“Yes, but he shut it down since he saw that I didn't seem to care much about it,” Sally replied.

“What happened to that elf guy that guards your shop?” Tesra asked.

“I closed down that shop since it wasn't making much profit and that elf has left long ago for his home country,” Sally replied.

Tesra nodded telepathically and the two continued fishing.

“Where’s Jill,” Sally asked curiously.

“She left this world long ago but left some of her will behind for me,” Tesra replied.

Sally thought of Jill and the short time of contact they had with each other. She found Jill interesting and mysterious, the time she spent with Jill was quite fun. The two quietly continued to fish while catching nothing. This wasn't strange since the two of them weren't fishing experts and they were fishing in moving waves.

Lakib had some fishing experience and he wanted to tell them that they were fishing the wrong way but he didn't want to irritate them so he kept his mouth shut.

“Miss Sally, what do I need to do to gain your favor,” Lakib asked.

Tesra and Sally stopped focusing on their fishing. Lakib became embarrassed because his thought slipped out. The two looked at Lakib and he became more embarrassed.

“Gaining my favor is easy,” replied Sally, “you give me something and I give you something back.” Sally focused back on her fishing. “But there is nothing that I currently want from you.”

Tesra focussed back on her fishing and continued to fish. Things became awkward for Lakib but he continued to fish with them. Sally’s fishing float sunk and she pulled her fishing line. After reeling it into the beach, she saw that she got an old chest with barnacles.

Tesra didn't use her mana perception on the chest even if she and Sally had detected it long ago under the ocean waves. Sally burned the barnacles off the chest and she opened it as the other two watched silently. Inside the chest were many pieces of gold. The carving on the gold showed that it was a currency in the Wimgale empire. The space rippled around the gold pieces and they disappeared into her storage necklace.

“How can I get one of those?” Tesra asked with her voice. Lakib looked at Sally and he also wanted to know.

“You have to be very lucky but I have an extra one that's a ring, do you have anything that I would value?” Sally asked.

Tesra thought for a moment and took out a scroll. It was a scroll with white trims and the other two looked at it with curiosity.

Tesra spoke to Sally telepathically, “It’s a magic scroll that Jill gave me, it will teach you a spell that allows you to resurrect for as long as you have mana.”

“I’ll take it,” Sally said with her voice.

She took off her storage ring and took out all of the items. She placed them in her storage necklace and gave Tesra the ring. Tesra took the ring and Sally took the scroll. Sally sent her mana into the scroll and the knowledge of a spell formed inside her head.

“This is quite a useful spell,” Sally said with a smile.

The two went back to fishing and Lakib wanted to ask what that scroll spell was but he decided not to.

“Lakib,” said Sally. Lakib looked at her wondering what she was going to say.

“I’ll make you city lord if you promise that not a single child will starve or be harmed in it again, do you accept?” Sally asked loudly.

Lakib thought for a moment and found that Sally’s request was doable.

“I accept,” said Lakib.

Sally nodded and severed the connection the city lord had with her mother's gift, she was finally able to sever it after the spell she tried to make was completed with the help of Tesra’s scroll. Looking at the storage necklace with a tiny silver bird on her neck, Sally smiled.

In the city's lord's mansion, there was an old man in a suit who was approving documents. He was the city lord and he suddenly felt extreme pain in his heart. He found that the connection he had with Sally’s mother's gift had been broken. The connection had given him a great life force and without it, he would die. He took one last breath and died.
