《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 83 Fogalis Curse

Fogalis stalked through the dark forest, its unknown and silent presence made the forest silent. It looked up towards the forest canopy and saw a flying black wyvern.
Its right hand swiftly moved up towards the sky. Its long nails pierced the wyvern body and it dragged it into the dark forest. The wyvern fell and wanted to roar in pain but it couldn't before Fogalis sliced its vocal cords. Fogalis didn't like sounds and loved silence.
Like a toy, Fogalis brought the wyvern up gently and looked into its eyes. The wyvern became frozen stiff with fear and forgot its pain. Fogalis opened its mouth filled with sharp black teeth. It chomped on the wyvern and red blood dripped down towards the forest flora. Fogalis arched back and sat down against a tree.
It thought about the human it encountered today, the human was not afraid of it which seemed strange, but that didn't matter, it had already cursed that human. As Fogalis ate, its jaw and teeth crushed the bones of the wyvern, but not a single sound was made from its mouth.
Fogalis tossed the remaining corpse of the wyvern into the darker part of the forest. Fodslings came out and surrounded the wyverns corpse. Fodslings are humanoid flowers. They made a sweet scent that made their preys fall asleep and paralyzes them.
The Fodslings unleashed multiple sharp vines from their hands and started draining nutrients from the wyvern. They made sure to eat silently, if they didn't, Fogalis would smash and eat them. The creature that knocked out Jim crawled out from behind a tree and looked at Fogalis. Fogalis looked at its offspring called Fogal with care, when its offspring grows old and strong enough, it would leave this forest to find a new home.
“What is it?” asked Fogalis.
“A group of humans has entered the forest,” Fogal replied.
Fogalis closed its eyes and connected with every tree in the forest, it saw and detected the humans. The humans were made up of a group of five and they detected Fogalis too. They were all fully armored and wore black capes. There didn't seem to be much on them besides their long swords, but the storage bracelet on their hand suggested otherwise.
Fogalis sensed hostility from the human and it breathed out a cloud of black gas. The gas spread quickly throughout the forest. The dark forest became darker. The five humans saw the fog and each took out a white vial.

Their visions became bright and they could see through the fog as bright as day. They were calm and ready to take action at any moment.
Back at the village, Jim became awake and looked around. He was still alive and this made him happy. From his blurry memories, he saw that he woke up safe and managed to rescue the children from an Owdler.
Feeling the bag on his back being quite heavy from his reward, he felt quite happy. Jim looked around the village filled with wooden buildings and stone houses. He felt that this place was nice and it would be quite nice to live here. But then again, Jim wondered if he wanted a normal life.
Deciding this, he started walking out of the village. Jim didn't get far when a friendly grown man with black hair in a fancy suit and pants stood in front of him. Jim didn't know who the man was but he looked like the parents of one of the children he rescued.
“Are you mister Vuhen?”
Jim replied with a nod, “What do you need?”
The man smiled, “I am Blaye, thank you for saving my daughter, I was wondering if you were looking for another quest anytime soon.”
Jim thought about it and found he wasn't looking for a quest since he was about to start exploring this world on his own, but a quest might not be a bad task to start exploring.
Jim looked at the man calmly, “I’m not looking for another quest, but you can tell me what your quest is and I might take it.”
Blaye became happy at Jim’s reply, he had an easy quest and he was sure Jim could do it, after all, Jim did rescue his daughter from the silent forest, a forest where those who are weak never return from.
“You see mister Vuhen, I need a builder who will build a wall around this village. I already have a talented builder in mind that I have recruited. Unfortunately, on their way here they were kidnapped by bandits. Fortunately, they were rescued from the bandits. They are currently stuck at a protected place since they might be kidnapped again.”
Seeing that Jim was still listening, Blaye continued.
“I would like for you to go to Sky Clane city and escort them to this village.”
Jim looked around the village, he saw villagers going on about their business. He turned back to Blaye.

“I’ll take it.”
Blaye smiled, “thank you, I'll give you an initial deposit fee and get you started.”
Blaye handed him a stack of blue paper money, a picture with a name, and a map. Jim looked at the picture and saw an old short man with brown gruff hair. The old short man wore leather and cotton clothing, he looked like a dwarf. He looked at the name on the picture and read it as Derib.
Jim looked at Blaye with a smile, “I’ll get started then.”
Jim started walking out of the village and Blaye left for his home. The king had ordered Blaye to make a prosperous city by the silent forest, if Blaye succeeded, the king would increase his title to count.
When the king was still a prince, Blaye’s parents had supported him fully and the prince wanted to reward Blaye after he became king. He couldn't reward Blaye without merit though, he needed Blaye to accomplish something big so people wouldn't be dissatisfied when he is promoted.
Jim took his horse and rode out of the village. The surrounding plain was beautiful and Jim rode into a forest path. Looking at the map, he found that it would take four weeks to reach Sky Clane city.
While he traveled, Jim kept a lookout on his surroundings and felt it was beautiful. When his horse was tired, he let it rest while napping under the sun. When night came, he would set up his sleeping bag and fell asleep. When the rain came, Jim would find a tree where he could doze off under.
The foods Jim ate were meat jerky and the occasional game he managed to kill. When he saw birds and he was hungry, he would get out his bow and shoot the birds down.
Five days after Jim’s travel, he crossed paths with a line of carriage. They were friendly enough and Jim bought a few things from them. From their mouths, he found out that they were heading towards Silfan village, the village Jim left from. It seemed Blaye was trying to increase the village population. Jim continued on his travel while four people conversed inside his head.
Jill floated by Jelly who was sitting crisscross and meditating.
“What are you doing?” Jill asked.
Jelly opened his eyes and smiled with happiness. He was currently trying to improve broken power and he was succeeding so far. The improvement of broken power would allow Jelly to convert energy into mana faster. The process was simple, cover the energy surrounding him with his will and they will convert into his mana.
Will was a type of energy in itself and Jelly was trying to improve his control over it. As his control over his will strengthens, he would be able to use and improve his will more sufficiently. After Jelly had enough mana, he will try to find a way to make a dimension gate and head back to his world. When his Wedson broke, Jelly realized his method of traveling worlds was inefficient. Hoping to find a new method of traveling besides the Wedson and suicide, he came up with the improvement of broken power.
Jelly looked at Jill, “It’ll take a while, but I'll be able to bring us back to our homeworld soon, just relax for now.”
Jill nodded and floated away, she trusted Jelly, if she didn't trust Jelly who was herself, who could she trust then? After Jill disappeared, Jelly closed his eyes and went back to improving broken power.
Jack showed up and floated towards Jelly. Jelly opened his eyes and looked at Jack. He wondered what Jack was going to ask.
“I think I'm feeling homesick,” said Jack.
“Why?” asked Jelly.
“Looking at the clear night sky with the stars reminds me of our homeworld,” said Jack.
“And?” said Jelly.
“I don't know, I just wanted to share my thoughts,” said Jack.
Jack left and Jelly closed his eyes. A few moments passed and JJ showed up. Jelly opened his eyes with a small smile, he wasn't irritated, but he was sighing on the inside.
“What do you need JJ?” asked Jelly.
“I'm feeling bored,” JJ said while floating on his back.
“Then go do something fun,” Jelly said with a smile.
“I can't think of anything fun currently,” said JJ.
Jelly thought for a moment.
“Why don't you turn into an ogre and play around,” said Jelly.
“That does seem fun,” said Jack, “but let's allow Jim to grow first.”
Jelly nodded and JJ left.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
