《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 75 Bird from Above

Jack opened his eyes, he looked around himself and saw that he was in a dark cell while chained to the wall. The body he was in was that of a filthy man wearing rags and messy hair. Jack tried to control the cells in his body, but the control was very limited. It seems that the power he had gained when he reached rank 6 in Tesra’s world was destroyed when this world sucked him in.
“Quite the predicament we're in,” said Jelly.
“Got any ideas?” Jack asked.
“There’s not much at our disposal, so I think we should just wait for death,” Jelly replied.
Jack nodded mentally and let go of control over the dead body he was in. Inside the body’s consciousness, Jack conjured up a room with video games and started having fun, Jelly studied a plant he grew, Jill tried to cook an apple, and JJ ate french fries. The dead man’s body was kept alive from the brain activity of the four of them.
Time passed for a while and footsteps outside the cells were heard. Three men in full suits of armor came in and looked at the dead man’s body. They checked the dead man's pulse and confirmed he was dead.
“Send him to the furnace,” said one of the men.
Two of the man carried the body out. They dragged the body to another room. The room was hot and intense heat came from a giant furnace. The two men came close to the furnace and tossed the dead man in.
Jill, Jelly, Jack, and JJ had cut their pain receptor off long ago, so they didn't feel any pain. After a long while, the man’s dead body turned to ash. Jelly and the others disconnected from the body and everything went blank. They couldn't see or control anything, this world had stripped them of that ability when it destroyed them.
Time passed and the four of them woke up in a new body. The body they woke up in was that of a man wearing a full suit of light armor. The man had a sword and a scabbard. He had dark hair with dark eyes. He was a fairly old man with a gruff face and a vibe that gave off the experience of the vicissitudes of the world.

Jack took control of the body and moved it, the original owner had been dead for quite a while. Jack scanned his surroundings and saw that he was in a cave. He felt extremely cold and concluded that the original owner of the body died of hypothermia.
There was a thing called will and it could do miraculous things with the body. Jack had lots of will, so he was able to draw energy from the body using it. The energy warmed Jack up but he knew he would run out of energy soon. Without energy, the body would freeze and the four of them would have to wait until the body’s brain decomposes.
There were two directions in the cave and Jack took the one that inclined slightly up. Jack tried to walk silently but his metal boots made lots of noises on the ground. If he couldn't be silent, he might as well be loud.
Jack tensed his muscle and ran. As he ran he held a sword tightly, if anything comes out from the dark, Jack would analyze and maybe kill it. Jack kept running and he soon saw light, the light made him cheer a little. Behind Jack, multiple footsteps were suddenly heard.
“What’s our goal?” JJ asked.
“To get out of this world,” replied Jelly.
Jack ran out of the cave and into a clearing with grasses and a forest. The sun shined on Jack and he smiled. He turned towards the cave and saw four zombies. The zombies were armored and armed. One zombie had a spear, two had a sword, and one had a staff. Jack concluded they were most likely the comrade of the man he was now in control of.
The zombies rushed out of the cave and into the sunlight. Jack held his sword to the right of himself. The zombies did not attack him immediately and instead circled him. Jack did not wait and rushed towards one of the zombies. The zombie pointed its spear towards Jack and rushed towards him.
Jack moved the trajectory of the spear with his sword. He then sliced forward and chopped the head of the zombie off. The other zombies came close to Jack and Jack grabbed the fallen zombie spear. The fallen zombie held its grip tight on the spear and Jack couldn't pull it up from the ground.

Jack sighed and rushed towards the other three zombies. Adrenaline surged through Jack's body. As fast as a bird, he bisected all three of the zombies' heads before they could even strike with their weapons. The adrenaline died down and Jack felt tired.
Jack looked at the three zombies' weapons and his sword. He preferred a knife or a dagger, but it seems he would have to get by with a sword for now. Jack scanned the area carefully, he saw a path that looked like it had been used by humans. Jack took the path and went into the forest.
After traveling the forest for a while, Jack came across a road and four tied horses. Jack checked the bags on the horses for any item. He found some food, tools, and a knife he decided to keep. Jack gobbled down the food and still felt hungry. He wondered whether he should eat a horse.
The horses seemed to have felt his intention and they slowly backed away from him. Jack smiled and decided not to eat the horse. Jack untied the four horses, he took one of the horses, and set the others free.
Looking at the road that had two directions, Jack decided to take the one that had hoof prints leading to the area he was in. Jack rode the horse down the road, the wind moved around him and he felt it was nice.
After riding for a while, Jack came across a vast plain with mountains, rivers, a few trees, and a herd of hairy creatures grazing. The hairy creatures had four limbs and walked on all four. The males had one short horn on their heads. The head of the creature and its body were bulky and defensive.
“That's beautiful,” said Jill.
The other three agreed and Jack went into the vast plain. Jack still felt hungry and he wanted to eat. He rode towards the herd and they seemed to panic. The herd grouped up around their youngs and tried to intimidate Jack. Jack got off his horse with a sword and walked toward the creatures he decided to call Herno.
The Hernos groaned and roared at him. Jack stopped to make the Hernos confused. He tensed his body and ran forward. The Hernos became fearful, but they stood their ground. Seeing Jack get closer, a big Herno got out of the group and charged towards Jack. Jack could tell that his entire body would be broken if he didn't dodge the charge.
Jack grip his sword tightly and stood his ground, the Herno kept charging towards him. When the Herno came within three meters of Jack, Jack moved to the side and slashed his sword towards the Herno's left front leg. The cut wasn't very deep but the Herno cried in pain and fell to the ground. Jack didn't waste a moment and proceeded to cut at the Herno's left hind leg.
The Herno cried in pain and moved fiercely. Jack backed off and circled the Herno. The Herno tried to keep its sight on him.
“Brooommmmm,” the creature cried.
Jack turned towards the Herno herd and saw that they were charging towards him. He immediately ran for his horse. The Hernos were too far and Jack reached his horse, he got on and moved away from the Herno herd.
The Herno herd reached their fallen member and surrounded them in a protective formation. They looked at Jack and roared at him. Jack sighed, it looks like he wouldn't be getting any dinner. Jack was about to leave when a giant blue bird with a long neck and long legs landed in front him. The bird had piercing red eyes with a deadly curved beak. Jack decided to call the bird Rerved.
The Rerved made a loud screech and ran towards Jack. Jack's horse became scared and ran. Jack held onto the horse tightly and looked back at the Rerved. The Rerved shot forward and slammed its beak into his horse's right hind leg.
The horse neighed in pain and fell to the ground. Jack got off and rolled to the ground. He gripped his sword tightly and charged towards the Rerved. The Rerved shot its neck forward towards Jack's head. Jack couldn't dodge in time and his head was pierced through and exploded. Everything became dark for the four of them and they started falling asleep.

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
