In the darkness, Bandy saw a knife heading towards him and he opened his eyes. He breathed and felt pain in his stomach.
“Aaaaaaahhhh,” he screamed in pain.
His screams woke up the kids in the cell with him. The kids woke up and thought about what they went through. Quickly, all of them started having mental breakdowns. Some were crying, some were shivering in terror, there was not a single one of them not distressed.
Thinking of the pain, Bandy felt shiver all over his body. Slowly, tears started falling down from Bandy’s face. Bandy was scared, scared of what he went through and wondering if it was going to happen again.
A voice spoke inside his head, “dont break down kid.”
Bandy wondered if he was just hearing things, perhaps the experience made voices in his head. Broken and scared, he decided to converse with the voice in order to maintain his rationality.
“Who are you?”, Bandy asked inside his head.
“Im just a wandering soul who wants to help you out,” the voice replied back.
“How can you help me out if your a soul?”, Bandy thought to himself.
“I can help you out if you get me nutrients?”
“What’s nutrient?”, Bandy thought, confused.
“Nutrient is food, with food, I can make your body stronger and you can kill all the bad guys and escape.”
Bandu became hopeful and looked around the room. It took a moment but he saw no food.
“There’s no food,” Bandy said with his thoughts.
“There is food.”
Bandy looked around the room but still saw no food, he only saw kids, the cell bars, the light bulb, and the wall.
“Where’s the food at?”, he thought.
“The food are the kids.”
Bandy became shocked and horrified. He had eaten food out of the garbage can but he had never eaten a human.
“Humans aren't food,” he replied.
“They can be,” the voice replied back.
“Even if they are, I won't eat them,” he replied with absoluteness.
“That’s ok, when they feed you, take the kids food.”
Bandy shook his head mentally and physically. He knew what it was like to starve, he didn't wish any of it on the other kids.
“Who taught you to not wish harm on others?”, the voice asked.
Bandy thought about who or what taught him to not wish harm on others. There was a story book he once read, a book he found out in the trashcan. The book was about a boy who did everything nice and nothing mean, because of what the boy did, a princess came and married him. Bandy's thoughts were cut off when he heard the voice laugh in his head.

“Sorry about that,” the voice said, “keep going please.”
Bandy got back to his thoughts. After marrying the princess, the boy became unhappy, the princess wasn't nice at all. How should he stop the princess from being mean, the boy wondered? The boy then had an idea, he would carry out his idea when it was night time.
Night time came and the princess slept peacefully with the boy. The boy opened his eyes and left the room. Morning came and the princess woke up, she looked at the bed thinking about kissing the boy, but the boy was not there. She wondered if he had woken up earlier than her, but that seemed unlikely since the boy liked sleeping a lot.
She went out of her room and searched the entire castle for the boy, but she could not find him. She went out of her castle and searched the whole land, but she still could not find the boy. The princess came back to her castle with a sad face.
She would sleep and search for the boy in the morning again. That night, she did not sleep well, without the boy she felt nothing nice. She woke up very unhappy, she wanted the boy back.
Today, she searched the castle and the land again, but she still could not find the boy. It was getting dark and her knights told her it was time to go home, but the princess did not want to go home, she felt nothing nice at home. The knights decided to leave her be and she was all alone.
Under the shining stars, she searched for the boy. The nights passed and morning soon came. Seeing the sun rise, the princess felt sad and she missed the boy. Tears started falling from the princess eyes and she started crying. She wondered where the boy was, the boy who made her feel everything nice.
Her knights had found her and told her it was time to go home, but she did not want to go home, she still wanted to look for the boy. The knights told her she had searched all the lands already and there was nothing left to search except the oceans.
The princess looked at the ocean and steeled herself, she decided to go to the ocean. Her knights could only sigh and follow after her. The princess soon reached the ocean and found endless stretches of water. On the beach, she found the boy.

She saw the boy showing a man how to catch fish. The princess felt happy and angry the moment she saw the boy. She ran towards the boy and pinned him down. The boy couldn't move, he was helpless under her.
She asked why he was out here instead of with her. He told her he was out here to help people. She asked why he was helping people. He answered that he wanted to be nice. The princess didn't like his answers, she told him he was never leaving her again.
The princess went back to her home while dragging the boy back with her. On their way home they met some bandits, the bandits subdue the knights and caught the princess and boy. The bandits were going to kill the boy and the princess cried. Before he was to be killed, she told him that he would be mean and kill the bandits if he truly wanted to be nice to her.
The boy didn't hesitate, he let the bandits kill him. Seeing his blood, the princess cried. The bandits took a ransom from the king of the land and let her go. From then on, the princess never left the castle. She became malnourished and sad. In order to avoid her misery, she filled herself with rage. She sought the land for the bandits hoping to kill them, but she could never find them.
Days went by and the princess became tired. She decided to visit the ocean one day, hoping she could find the boy again. She went to the ocean and saw endless waves of water. By the beach she saw the boy teaching another man how to fish.
She felt happy and ran towards the boy. The boy saw her this time and it was him who pinned her down. He told her to leave him alone. He only married her because he wanted to be nice to her. But since she was mean, then they couldn't be together. The boy let go of her and left her crying on the beach, he did not turn back to comfort her.
Before he left, she asked if he would be with her again if she became nice. He told her that unless she truly felt and became nice, he would never be with her again. From that day on, the princess never saw him again. She became nice and truly felt nice, but the boy never once came back to her.
She did not search him out and hoped he would search her out. One day, the news came that the boy drowned, saving a child from drowning. The princess felt despaired hearing the news, she became sad again.
She went to the ocean in hopes of finding the boy again. She reached the ocean, but did not find the boy at the beach. What she did find was a child struggling in the water. She did not hesitate, she simply stood still and watched the child trying to claw their way back up to the surface of the water.
Then she remembered something, she remembered the boy telling her to truly be nice. In the end, she decided to save the child. The child was deep under the water but she managed to push the child back ashore. Unfortunately, she ran out of energy and slowly started sinking.
As she was sinking, she wondered if she was ever going to see the boy again. Perhaps she could meet him again in the afterlife. She looked up towards the surface of the water and saw the light get dimmer and dimmer. The light soon darkened instantly and a shadow seemed to rushed towards her.
The shadow grabbed her and pulled her back ashore. The princess spat out the sea water and coughed. She turned her head to the shadow. What she saw, made her eyes widened with.
Bandy's thoughts became interrupted by the voice.
"Get to the main point please," the voice gently said.
Bandy shook his head mentally and physically, there was never a main point. It's just that the story had shaped his view and how he acted in this world.
"Oh," the voice said with surprise, "well I guess you got away from your bad memories right?"
Bandy thought back to his horrible memories and he became terrified again.
"Sorry, sorry," the voice apologized, "go back to the story, to get away from your bad memories.
