In a room with a bed and light shining through; Jack JJ Jelly came together and combined. Sene and Sana who were now adults watched from the side. The twin had grown beautiful and their aura was strong. They both wore light armor with a hidden scimitar on them.
Jay opened his eyes and looked out the window. He still looked young as the day he came to this city. He looked at the sun that seemed undying. The heat from it warmed his skin. He did not feel warm and comfy like he used to be when he came to this world. Inside he felt dead and depressed.
The thoughtless serum side effect had stayed with him. Ever since he came to this world, he had suppressed the side effect for as long as he could. It seems with age, the side effects had caught up to him. Right now, Jay wanted to kill himself. Even Jill who was inside his head felt what he felt.
Jay remembered Jill’s promise with Tesra and decided to talk with Tesra about his problem. Tesra walked into the room with a small smile on her beautiful face. She looked at everyone in the room and her smile stopped when she saw Jay face. Jay’s face was a familiar face to her. As a hero, there were some who she couldn't save. Those who she couldn't save had expressions like Jay.
“Are you ok Jay,” she asked calmy.”
Jay shooked his head, “I'm feeling tired, I think it's about time I pass on.”
Tesra heart palpatated, “what do you mean?”
“Exactly what I mean, I don't wish to stay for any longer.”
Tesra was about to speak but Jay spoke, “dont worry, I still remember your promise with Jill. But we're going to have to change things up a bit.”
Jay saw the look of shock and fear in her eyes, something he hadn't seen for a long time. “From now on, I will no longer protect myself during life threatening situations. I will stay with you until you die of old age or I die.”
The twins who heard everything became shocked and couldn't keep calm.
“Master, why do you seek death?” Sene asked calmy.
Jay looked at the twins and spoke, “I have lived for far too long and there is nothing I currently desire in life other then death.”
“How could you yearn for death when your so young master?” Sana asked with confusion.
“I may look young but I have experienced many things. One day the two of you may experience what I have experienced. If your lucky enough to grow old that is.”
Tesra did not speak, she started comprehending everything Jay said. In the end she decided it was not her place to make Jay to stay with her. Jay saw that she understood and felt happy.
“Tesra, let's go on one last exploration or adventure. I know how you feel about the demons. For our adventure, I will help you stop the demon surge.”

Tesra thought for a moment and nodded. Jay stood up and walked out of the room. Tesra and the twins followed after him. Jay assembled all the slaves in the house and set them free. All of the slaves who were once children had grown up wise. Jay handed them tons of money and told them to live their life how they wanted. The former slaves hesitated at first, but they still obeyed Jay in the end.
Jay then walked out onto the street with Tesra and the twins following him. They reached a caravan that was going to travel to a far off land. Jay paid the caravan and to be allowed to travel with them. The four got on horses and rode out of the city with the caravan.
As they got out of the city, Jay thought about Fluff. Fluff had been set free by Tesra and him long ago, he wondered where that bird was. Probably ruling over a pack of white talon. Fluff was rank 3 when it left so it was most likely still fine.
The caravan traveled for many days without anything interesting happening besides a few woman flirting with Jay. He denied all of their advances politely and used some mana to make sure they quit bothering him.
One day on their travel, they were surrounded by bandits. The bandits did not say anything and immediately attacked. Tesra and the twins easily dispatched of the bandits and they were thanked by the merchants of the caravan.
The travel proceeded on with the surrounding slowly changing. The surrounding slowly changed to rocky terrain with trees and exotic plant. From the distance of the terrain they could see outlines of a mountain range.
The roads they were traveling on were used by many people and they often encountered other caravans on the way. Every time the caravan met each other, they would stop and trade with each other. Bandits encounter became more frequent but they were easily taken care of.
One day the caravan stopped, the leader of the caravan spoke to everyone. From his expression one could see that he was serious. The caravan leader looked like an intelligent man with a mustaches and rich clothes, everyone took his word seriously.
“Everyone, we have finally reached the Devouring Desert. I know everyone is afraid, but as long as we don't make any mistakes, we will be fine.”
The newcomers who had never traveled through the Devouring Desert spoke up. “Why don't we take another path?”
The caravan leader spoke seeing their fears. “The other paths are too long and we have a magical device to keep the sand worms from detecting us.”
Everyone became calm at the words magical device. Magical devices were really powerful. They could summon rains, destroy castle, and other things.
The caravan leader took out a necklace from his neck. The necklace was made of tiny steel chains and had a small gold coin hanging on it. The gold coin gave off an aura that made everyone feel calm.

“Everyone, this magical device can erase our caravan vibration. Without vibration, the sand worms will not be able to detect us.”
Everyone nodded and converse, they all agreed to travel through the devouring dessert. One by one, everyone went into a terrain where there was only sand. The only thing around the caravan was endless stretch of sand.
The caravan traveled for a while and nothing seemed to be going wrong. One of the lookout looked up towards the cloud and saw a Dulture. A Dulture is giant vulture that roams around the desert searching preys. It was a very crafty creature and that could lead many to their death.
The caravan leader did not like the dulture . He saw what the dulture was thinking, it planned to lure the sand worms towards the caravan.
“Shoot it down,” he ordered.
Tesra looked at the dulture and shot forth a silent lighting bolt from her pointer finger. The dulture was shocked and burn to a crisp. From the sky one could see it slowly falling down. It fell till it hit the ground.
Nothing seemed to happen after that. After a while, they saw a sand worm 100 meter long shot forth from the ground and devoured the dulture. The sand worm had sandy dry skins that was very harden. Around it's body one could see many sharp curved spikes. It's mouth was shaped like five flower petal and one could see rows of teeth.
It did not make any sound after devouring the dulture, it simply dived back down into the sand and the sand became silent again. Everyone admired and was horrified of the sand worm at the same time. They wanted to quickly leave the Devouring Desert, but they knew they couldn't rush.
The caravan kept traveling while being more cautious. After a few more days of traveling without anything happening, something happened. The caravan stopped and some people wondered why.
Instead of continuing in a straight path, the caravan turned to another direction. Jay knew why they did that. Tesra also knew why they did that but Sene and Sana did not.
“Why is the caravan turning direction?” Sana asked a little confused.
Tesra answered her, “there’s a sand worm lying in the path of the caravan.”
The twin understood and didn't ask any more question. The travel continued and they soon reached close to the mountains. Everyone was happy that they were soon about to leave the Devouring Desert.
A mid rank 2 cyclop that was far away from the Devouring Desert saw the caravan with it's orange eyes. it's eyesight was amazing and it thirsted for blood. The cylop was ten meters tall and it wore fully plated armor. In the cyclop right hand was a flail that looked deadly. Tensing it's muscle, the cyclop charged forward towards the caravan.
The caravan leader saw this and told everyone to remain calm. Some wanted to run but the people that were experienced with the Devouring Desert quickly subdued them.
The cyclop stepped into the land of the devouring dessert and the caravan leader smiled. The cyclop came running closer and closer to the caravan. Many were starting to panic but the caravan leader used a magic device to make them remain calm.
The cyclop was far but close. Something happened as it was getting closer. A whirlpool of sand formed under it. It's right foot got stuck in the sand and it was quickly dragged in. The cyclop roared wondering what was going on.
It used its immense strength to drag it's right foot out but it's left foot was dragged in because of it. The cyclop struggled but the sand kept pulling it down until only it's arm was left. One could heard sickening crunches from afar as if something was being crushed alive.
The whirlpool stopped and everything remained silent. The caravan was about to resume it's travel until the sand where the cyclop use to be exploded. From the explosion, a 100 meters longsandworm came out screeching in pain. It wriggled and writhe around in pain. It's screeching pain spread throughout the surrounding.
After struggling in pain for a while, it took one last loud screech; it then fell down and stopped moving. The skin of the sand worm ripped apart and an armored cyclop crawled out. One could see that it's armor had been crushed and it was bleeding all over.
The cyclop slowly crawled out of the sandworm body until it was fully exposed until the sun. One could see that the legs of the cyclops had been mangled. Acid ate away at the flesh exposed on the cyclop legs and it grunted in pain.
It seemed that the cyclop was safe, but the caravan leader knew it was not. Sand from afar rose and came towards the cyclop. It stopped close to the cyclop and the cyclop looked it. The sand fell and the head of a giant sand worm rose.
From the size of the giant sand worm head, one could tell that it was at least 1000 meters long. The giant sand worm open its petal shaped mouth and dived forth onto the mini sandworm and the cyclop.
Mana condensed into the cyclop eyes and it shot a beam of light into the giant sandworm mouth. The giant sandworm was low rank three but it couldn't withstand the cyclop eye beam. It screched in pain but still dived down and ate the cyclop.
The caravan looked from afar, amazed and terrified of what they saw. Tesra looked look at the giant sandworm neutrally while the twins looked at the giant sandworm in fear. The caravan did not stay stunned for long and they quickly resumed traveling.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.
