《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 20 A Challenger Appears

A man named Zole was hiding on top of the city wall. He looked around himself at the situation. He saw people crying, some laughing, and some will all hope lost in their eyes. A giant fireball flew over his head and landed in the city sending civilians and houses flying.
Zole knew he would die today. There was no escaping this. The goblin army flooded the entire kingdom after they conquered Tiluso. Many cities had already fallen and this city was the capital city. Waves upon waves of goblins would be killed but more would replace them. The firepower of the goblin mages was tremendous and their castle walls were slowly crumbling.
A barrel flew overhead the castle wall and landed while exploded. From out the barrel, goblins came out and started attacking. There were also holes in the city ground that goblins came out of. Goblins were currently everywhere and overrunning the city.
One of the things that kept the city from being wiped out instantly was commander Kalion. Commander Kalion was a low rank two who was leading soldiers killing goblins after goblins.
A group of goblin champions came charging towards commander Kalion and his soldiers. The two sides fought with both earning heavy casualties. After a while, all the goblin's champions were killed and the commander led on.
Zole didn't know why Kalion didn't run away since the king was already dead. The goblins weaved forth together with a great spell of at least low rank 3 and decimated the entire castle killing everyone along with the king. A goblin champion came close to Zole with a club.
It roared and charged. The goblin champion was at least low rank 1 and Zole was only in mid-rank 0 so he was most likely going to die. Even if he was going to die he wasn't going to make it easy though. The goblin champion slammed its club towards him and he dodged to the side while pushing his spear towards its side which simply broke his spear tip.
The goblin champion smiled and slammed its club into Zole sending him flying off the castle wall and onto the ground. The goblin champion must have thought he was dead and went off to find other prey.
Many of Zole bones were broken and he couldn't move. He wanted to cry but he couldn't. He just wished all of this was a nightmare and he could go back to patrolling the streets while drinking with his friend. Slowly Zole started to close his eyes.
Then he heard the voice of a young boy. “Decay, heal, fly.”
Zole felt his body healing at a rapid pasted while he started floating. Around him, he heard the pained screeches of the goblins. Some slowly opened his eyes and saw he was in the air. Above him, he saw a boy casting spells after spells sending fireballs after fireballs towards the goblin army.

The goblin army did not expect this situation and the goblin mages tried to block the incoming fireballs but the water barrier was too weak and the fireballs landed exploding while scorching the land around it.
The goblin commander saw this and quickly ordered the goblin mages to group up. The goblin mages grouped up and started to weave a fireball spell that had firepower equivalent to that of low rank 3.
After they were done they set off the fireball. The fireball gave off an intense wave of heat that made many in its vicinity feel it. Altos saw the fireball flying towards him and used decay on it. Quickly the fireball decreased in size till Altos could grasp it with his hand and extinguish it.
Seeing that the fireballs didn't do anything the goblin commander quickly ordered the goblin army to retreat. Stake had always told them to avoid pointless casualty. Altos saw the goblins fleeing but didn't want to let them go. Using a spell, he transferred his will into dead creatures and they started rising quickly.
After rising the dead creatures started attacking the goblins who were fleeing. Every time a goblin fell a new undead would arise. The goblin army was huge and they were taking a lot of casualties, but not enough to dampen their spirits. Unfortunately, before the goblins could get away from the kingdom a beast tide came charging towards them.
Seeing that they were in a pincer attack the goblin commanders quickly gave an order and the goblin army organized itself. Although the beast tide and the undead were terrifying, the goblins were organized and synchronized so they had no problems taking care of their enemies.
Seeing that the goblin army was doing pretty well Altos decided he needed to step in. Raising his hand he gathered mana and formed dark particles that became a giant ball of darkness. Aiming the ball of darkness towards the goblin army, he fired it.
The goblins saw the ball of darkness and they knew they would be annihilated if it hits. A goblin commander decided to defend the army by charging towards the ball of darkness with his sword. He jumped into the air towards the ball of darkness while coating his sword with light.
Coming close towards the ball of darkness he slashed with his sword and the ball of darkness exploded. It sent dark particles raining down everywhere upon at least half of the goblins in the army. When the particles landed on the goblin they started to scream because they were decaying in pain.
They tried to use their mana to fight off the decay but the particles had too much power. Slowly the organized goblins quickly became disorganized. The half part of the goblin army that was affected by the dark particles were close towards the undead so the undead easily tore through them.

Seeing that only half of them could function the goblin commanders ordered the 50,000 goblins left to push through the beast tide and escape. The whole goblin army started using mana and pierced through the beast tide like a hot knife through butter. The flying beast that came down towards them were killed by them quickly and they soon turned undead like the others.
After a few moments of pushing through the goblin army escaped and started fleeing in an organized way while hitting their enemies. Altos looked at the fleeing goblin army and wanted to chase them but his mind knew it was better to stay in the capital and get things organized.
Looking away from the goblin army he looked towards the capital castle that had been destroyed. The castle was filled with happy memories that he had with his sister and now it was gone. Using his mana he levitated the many debris around the capital and got rid of them by sending them outside the city.
The people who were left in the capital looked at him with gratitude wondering who he was since they never saw the prince and princesses face often. Kalion who was still alive saw the prince and went towards him.
Looking down Altos saw Kalion heading towards him so he went towards Kalion. They two soon reached each other and looked at each other. Kalion spoke first.
“It seems you succeeded with your travel your highness.”
Altos nods at him. “Yes I did, Kalion. Tell me, is my father still alive?”
“I'm afraid not your highness.”
Altos sighed and looked around him. “How many cities have the goblin destroyed so far?”
“About half of the kingdom's city your highness.”
Altos thought about what Kalion said and felt a little bitter. If he had arrived at Dion days earlier he might have been able to save more lives.
“Where are my other siblings?”
“All of them were in the castle when it was destroyed, your highness.”
Altos thought of his other sibling who he had some emotional ties to even if they were always trying to kill him. He sighed and thought of the bigger picture.
“Does that make me king now Kalion?”
Kalion nods and looked at him. “As far as I know, you're the last prince.”
“Where are the other nobles at?”
“Most of them had fled to other kingdoms after the trap failed.”
“So be it then. Kalion, I want you to spread the message that the king has died and prince Altos became the new king. Start communicating with the other cities that haven't been attacked yet and tell them to hold the line. Tell them that the new king is a rank 3 being and that the goblins will be purged from this land.”
“So be it, your majesty.” Kalion said with a tired smile.
Altos flew back up into the air and was about to clean up more of the city until a loud voice spoke from far away. The voice was weak to Altos but it made him feel threatened.
“Come out necromancer, let's fight, and then I'll dine this city in blood.”
Altos flew above the city and looked at the silhouette in the distance. It was a goblin 4 meters tall with cyan skin and a red mohawk. In the goblin hands were two axes. The goblin wore a black leather vest with a black leather short pant that seemed to be made of scales.
Looking around the goblin, Altos saw the frozen corpse of both beast and undead. The goblin was at mid-rank 2 but the mana it gave off said it had a mana capacity to that of a peak rank 2.
“Who are you?”
“I'm a goblin named Stake. Come and fight me now.”
Altos could only nod. The goblin didn't seem to be the emperor of the goblins but he did seem to be the goblin that played the coalition like a fool. The report said that the goblin in front of him had faced off against Lerok and fought him on equal footing even though it was only a high rank 1 creature at that time.
Altos knew he needed to be careful with this goblin. After a moment, all of Alto's mana had fully restored. The fact that the goblin didn't attack him during that time meant it was confident in killing him at his full power. Altos wanted to disdain its ignorance but he knew its scars had already cleared its ignorance.
Seeing that he was ready, the goblin entered a battle stance. Atlos conjured water and froze it into a long blade. He infused the blade with dark particles while adding a paralysis effect to it. The long blade crackled with dark electricity. After looking at the goblin for a moment, Altos attacked.

Hanging on Bones
huh?... So no reincarnation for me?...****Warning! Mature Content!****I extend my arm out as far as it goes and stab myself with all my might. The blade securely lodges between my ribs. One problem solved. Finally having my hand free I immediately bend down and scoop up flickering glass candle holder. In one swift motion I straighten out, turn and throw it at the closest of my pursuers. To my surprise it's a perfect square hit and the leading veteran crashes into the headstone he was just about to jump over. It was waaay too close for my comfort. If not for this success, shortly after I would be the one lying on the ground…----------------------My first attempt at writing a book - the way i like them.
