《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 11 Smiley Nail
Advertisement
Nail reached the goblin territory and around him he could see adventurers hunting goblins for their armor and weapons. He wasn't too deep into goblin territory yet so the goblins weren't that strong.
Shrouding himself in thin mana he became transparent and then invisible. The thin mana reduced sound vibration around his footstep and he walked into the forest searching for a goblin mage.
Most goblin mages were around mid-rank 0 and for Nail, he could take them on easily. To complete his task, he planned on subduing a goblin mage and then torture information out of it. What about the language barrier one might ask? Well for Nail he had many utilities with mana and one of them was understanding the intent of any language through mana.
Nail walked through the forest going deeper and deeper till it became darker and darker with the snow around. The tall trees had spike leaves which people named frost trees. They sometimes had an opening that shed light unto the forest.
Goblin mages weren't around everywhere but Nail knew they would hunt for food with a squad of goblins in this forest from the information he gathered. He was sure once he walked around the forest for long enough he would spot a goblin mage soon.
After walking a while he spotted a squad of the goblins with a goblin mage dragging a pointy pig corpse with them. The goblin squad had a total of ten goblins including the goblin mage.
Nail sneaked up from behind the goblin squad. The goblin mage was currently in the middle of the goblin squad so he would have to kill the other goblins first and incapacitate them quickly.
Taking out two long daggers and reinforcing his body with mana, Nail attacked. The two daggers quickly sliced the neck of two goblins and Nail moved on to slice another two goblin necks.
The goblin saw him attack and froze with fear which allowed him to kill another two goblins. Down to four goblins and seeing only half of them left the goblin tried to run. The goblin mage, on the other hand, tried to bark out orders and it didn't work so he casted a fireball towards Nail.
Nail dodge the fireball and kicked the goblin mage right in its face which knocked it out. He then quickly went after the three goblins left that were running and screaming.
The goblins couldn't run far or fast enough before Nail killed all three of them by throwing his daggers into the skull of two of them and catching up with the last one to break its neck.
Looking at the armor the dead goblins were wearing he wanted to take them but he couldn't carry them. Looking back at the unconscious goblin mage he picked it up without its staff and went away from the goblin territory.
After Nail was far enough from the goblin territory he climbed up a tree with the goblin mage. After getting to a comfortable position he woke the goblin mage up. His interrogation begin and soon he found out that the goblins were preparing an invasion on multiple kingdoms.

The goblins had the army and resources to win the war. The only safe place in the surrounding mountain range that wouldn't be hit by the invasion was Green Flower since it was close to the forest goddess.
After getting more information, Nail killed the goblin mage and left to complete his task. After coming back to Green Flower he reported his findings and got his reward. The adventurer organization would most likely sell the info they obtained to the surrounding kingdoms and empires.
Nail didn't take the goblin threat seriously since he knew Green Flower was safe but Liana and her orphanage wouldn't be safe since they lived in another city. Nail decided to go towards the city of Copure in order to move Liana and her orphanage to Green Flower.
Nail traveled for a few days on a horse and soon reached Coupure City. He got Liana and the orphan to move to Green Flower promising to take care of them. Liana knew Nail very well and trusted him so they started heading towards Green Flower immediately.
While they were traveling to Green flower with 161 orphans they sometimes came across beasts and bandits which Nail was able to take care of easily. Nail was a guy who was always prepared and he had already bought a new building for the orphanage in Green Flower.
The closer they traveled to Green Flower, the more they noticed nobles and rich people heading towards it. The kids asked why there were so many people heading there and Nail simply told them they found out it was a haven in the coming storm.
Nail knew that the adventurer organization had most likely already started selling information and it would only be a month and a half before the goblin invasion.
One might ask, don't these rich people have faith that their kingdom can protect them? Well no because their kingdom will only protect its interest and not them. Also, each kingdom has around 50 low ranks 1 mage while the goblin kingdom is said to have at least 200 low rank 1 mage.
One must also understand that goblins reproduce fast and their growth rate was also fast. As long as goblins haves resources their numbers can swell up immensely.
If there was a low-rank 2 human mage among hordes of goblins, they could kill goblins easily but the sheer numbers of goblins would soon overwhelm them. People like Jill who had a high affinity with an element didn't need to worry about goblins once they reach a high enough rank because they had more than enough mana to keep overwhelming goblins.
After a few days, Nail, Liana, and the orphanage soon reached Green Flower. After setting down quickly they simply started living. Nail made the kids work by setting up a restaurant, and clothing factory.
With his teaching, the kids learned how to cook and sew quickly. He also made them do other jobs but they were minor jobs. Everyone liked the food and needed clothes so the Nail business went off to a great start. He also made sure to hire a few thugs that would protect the kids.

Soon, every time an orphan walked on the street, they would be respected if they had a badge that had a nail with a smiley face. The badge represented that they worked for and were under the protection of Nail. No one tried to start a fight against Nail since rumors spread that he was at least low rank 1.
Weeks passed and there was only a month till the goblin invasion. One day an army came marching towards Green Flower. They were the army of the Tawn kingdom and other kingdoms combine.
Eight kingdoms close by the mountain range which was now named Goblin Mountain Range had united together to attack the goblin before the goblin attacked them. The large army had at least a total of 300,000 soldiers with 87 low ranks 1 mages, 30 mid-rank 1 mages, 8 high rank 1 mages, 140 low ranks 1 knights, 60 mid-rank 1 knights, and 15 high rank 1 knights.
There was only one commander of the entire army who was agreed upon by the other kingdoms and his name was Lerok Megil Hanos who was a low rank 2 mage knight. Lerok Megil Hanos was the king of the Hanos kingdom and he had the talent to reach peak rank 1 so he killed another peak 1 rank creature and became a low rank 2.
Other kings of kingdoms didn't have talent like Lerok so it was very hard for them to become low rank 2.
Everyone in Green Flower came out and admire the army. They were also afraid of what the army would demand of them so they were cautious. They watched the army came close to the town but pass them by and went towards the river.
The mages stepped forth and started conjuring. The ground rose in the river to create a bridge that could let a hundred people walk on it from side to side.
The goblin territory was on the east side of the river so they had to cross the river to fight the goblins and meet up with other kingdoms who were on the east side of the mountain range.
Soon the whole army crossed the river and went to combine with other kingdoms. After meeting up with other kingdoms close to the goblin territory they prepared to attack. The army now had at least 500,000 soldiers, 124 low rank 1 mages, 40 mid-rank 1 mages, 13 high rank 1 mages, 184 low-rank knights, 82 ranks 1 knights, and 20 high rank 1 knights.
They swiftly marched towards the mountain range where the goblin kingdom was. Every soldier felt confident because of the large army they were a part of. Yet they were also scared for the coming battle since it seemed the battle was going to be big.
Deep in the mountain range far from the eyes of the army. Tesra and Jill were sitting in a stone tower Jill made. It was Jill's first time seeing such a large-scale army marching towards war and Tesra also wanted to see it.
“Who do you think will win Jill?” Tesra asks while eating pointy pig meat delicately.
Jill spoke with chewing meat. “I never went deep enough into the goblin kingdom but I would say their foundation is pretty solid. If I had to guess who'd win I'd say the goblin because the war is on their home turf.”
Tesra nods at her answer and looked at the marching army. She was able to see them from far away because of a spell called FarSight which Jill had taught her. Tesra was growing at a rapid paste and currently she was a mid-rank 0 mage after many weeks of training.
Whenever Jill thought about Tesra talent she became a little jealous but with the status mission reward, she didn't feel that jealous. Looking at the cave that led into the goblin kingdom Jill wondered where Stake was.
After a while, Jill saw a goblin came out of the goblin cave. The goblin was Stake and he ran through the forest. After a while, he reached the plain where the human army was marching.
Stake had ten steel spears on his back. He stabbed them all into the ground. The human army marching saw a goblin in front of them and prepared for battle.
Stake grabbed a spear and arched his back. He did not fill the spear with mana. He instead activated a spell on it. The spell was invented by himself to fight against Jill.
The spell hardened the spear and its piercing power increased. It also made it have more weight while feeling light. Stake wasn't done with just that though. He also placed enchantment on his body.
Stretching the mana inside his body he squished it and thickened it. His whole body felt like it was going to break. The human army saw him standing still for quite a while and decided to march forward. The distance between them was 200 meters which wasn't quite in the range of the mage's mana.
The moment they walked forward, Stake screamed a high pitch sound which made them pause for a moment. Stake then threw the spear. The spear broke the sound barrier and all went silent.
