《Raising A Monster Empire In Another World》Chapter 14: New skill and monster!

It took Damian some time to settle down.
Setting the questioning screen aside, he carefully looked through the system messages.
«You have killed 3 Wild rats!»
«15 experiences earned!»
«15 class experience earned!»
«1.5 spirits collected!»
«Mastery of Basic Swordsmanship: 10.9%»
«You have levelled up!»
«5 stat points obtained!»
«Your class has levelled up!»
«Class skill '‹SS-› Spirit Forging' unlocked!»
'A new skill?' Reading the last message, Damian recognised the source of all the popups.
Before investigating the specifics of his new skill, Damian decided to examine the system notifications to his right.
«Brave has killed 3 Wild rats!»
«Brave has earned 15 experience...»
«Brave has levelled up!»
«Brave has obtained 2 free stat points!»
«Brave has gained +2 Strength!»
«Brave has gained +5 Agility!»
«Brave has gained +3 Stamina!»
«Brave has gained +3 Vitality!»
«Brave has unlocked the skill 'Quick charge'!»
'Brave has obtained a skill as well.' Damian had only recently realised that good things come in pairs. Not only had he learned skill, but Brave had learned her first as well.
Out of habit, Damian decided to save his skills for later and opened Brave's status window.

'Simple but super effective.' In the past two days, Damian had closely observed Brave and her fighting style. That's why he knew how useful the skill was for her, who always changed first at the enemy.
Investing her free points in intelligence, Damian, who couldn't contain his excitement anymore, opened his skill window.

The effects were stated and understandable. 'Put materials in the forge, burn spirits in the collection, and take your item out. Simple.' As Damian concluded, a chuckle escaped his mouth.
'Who am I kidding? The situation is getting more and more unrealistic.' Grabbing his forehead, Damian massaged his temples. 'Then again, what can be more "realistic" than being transmitted in a fantasy world.'
*Sigh!*
'Let's check it out.' With a sigh, Damian called the questing screen back, choosing yes.
«Activating skill: ‹SS-› Spirit Forging!»
*Ding!*

Looking at the list of possible creations, Damian was confused. 'Does the number show the number of items that can be created or...?' The 'M' in front of the number made Damian doubt that it worked like a currency.
Damian immediately sought the answer by thinking of creating comfortable underwear.
*Ding!*
«Material -7; Spirit -2»
«'E- Comfortable underwear' created!»
Immediately after the messages, a new item appeared in Damian's storage.
Taking the underwear out of his storage, Damian observed the brown cloth. It looked like your everyday topical cloth, produced in a factory from the threads to the material. There was nothing that gave a hint that this thing was made from monsters.

"Brave, stay here for a bit." Telling Brave to stay put, Damian dashed behind a tree.
.

.
.
To cross the shrub he normally would have bypassed, Damian chose to jump. As he landed on the other side, a smile appeared on his face.
'It feels so comfortable.' In the past few days, Damian had understood the true value of underwear every time he moved, especially during jumps. Damian missed his underwear so much that now when he finally had it, the smile refused to leave his face.
*Squeak!*
Just when Damian was about to walk ahead, he stopped in his tracks. Turning back, he looked at Brave, who was hoping in front of the shrub he had just jumped.
"What is it Brave? Is there something under it?" As Damian asked the question, he hadn't expected an answer, but too much to his surprise, he received a nod from Brave.
'Intelligence is important.' Noting the importance of the attribute, Damian looked under the shrub.
Removing the leaves in the way, Damian got a clear view of the small ant hill like structure under it. Using a stick to remove the loose soil, it was found that there was nothing under it other than the loose ground.
"Hmm..." No matter how much he looked, Damian couldn't make head or hill of the thing. After coming to this strange world, Damian had long since considered his knowledge of wildlife pretty useless.
With no answer on hand, Damian and Brave advanced, spotting the same structure beneath a few shrubs.
'We haven't encountered a single Wild rat.' Damian had one more doubt in his mind. Though there wasn't much, Damian always managed to encounter Wild rats, but even after walking for hours, they had yet to spot a single one.
Suddenly, Damian came to a halt. Looking around, he just realised the presence of more greenery. There was grass growing everywhere, and the leaves on the trees as well as the shrubs were greener.
"Brave, stay on alert." Alarmed by the change in terrain, Damian alerted Brave, taking his sword out.
From the corner of his eyes, Damian suddenly saw a bouncing football. 'Football!?' Damian looked carefully, surprised by his observation.
There he saw it: bouncing from behind a tree was a translucent blue ball made of jelly. As it landed on the ground, it created ripples in its outline. Observing more carefully, it was found that the ball had two circles that were a shade darker than its body.
With another hop, the thing landed a metre away from Damian, looking at him with its circled eyes.
As Damian stood there, shocked by seeing a moving ball of jelly, the image of a beginner-level monster of novels flashed in his mind as he said out loud, "Slime!"
