《World of Enosi | Discontinued! Do not read if you hate discontinued novels!》20. Practicing Starlight Magic

Walking through the forest at night felt very different than in the morning. I could hear the sounds of wildlife,
my eyes were scanning the area for danger, and the lights from the stars and the moon shone through the branches and leaves. It had this mystical feeling.
I and Chloe were walking on a forest path. I remembered where the wood cabin was, so I wasn't really worried about getting lost.
After walking for a couple of minutes, we arrived back at the wood cabin. Arci welcomed us back.
"Welcome back Ryan. How was your trip to the Adventurer's Guild?"
"Well... I kinda messed up with the language for a bit, but it was okay."
"Are you an adventurer now?"
"Yeah, but it didn't really feel... Well. It didn't feel exciting or anything. I just had to register by putting my hand on top of a card, and that was it. After that, I just did the required amount of commissions to rank up...
It felt really boring, nothing like an adventure at all."
I took a look at my adventurer's card. It had my name on it, and the letter G with the numbers 0/30.
There were some words written on it too. It told me that I had to complete at least 1 combat-related commission and 5 scouting-related commissions. Well, I guess you could call that adventuring at least.
"So, no monsters or anything that came to our house?"
"No. Nothing of the sort. It seems like we are clear today."
Goblins and even Orcs were already attacking our house for the last few days. This was bad, they were probably going to stage a huge attack now that Dain is gone... I shouldn't underestimate those monsters.
That goblin was smart enough to feint his attack. If the rest of them was as smart as that one goblin, then

they are definitely planning something, right? What to do against those things... Maybe I should get help from the green wolves. The system did say I had enough of a relationship with them to help me after all.
(But right now, I shouldn't worry about those things. I'll do it tomorrow. Right now tonight, I'm going to test
Starlight Magic.)
I was pretty excited to test Starlight Magic tonight. I read from the book that beginners should test it only
when the stars were out. The power of Starlight Magic would be multiplied at least a couple of times. Testing it in the daytime for beginners would be impossible. Starlight Magic would only show its true strength when
the stars were out.
I went with Arci and Chloe to a forest clearing, where the shine of the stars and the moon went undisturbed.
Today was the first time I would be testing Starlight Magic. I also brought that book about magic with me.
I opened it, went into the section for Starlight Magic, and saw the procedure needed to gather Star Energy.
Star Energy was basically the energy from the stars. I had to focus my mana on manacules to make them combine with starlight. I held out my right hand and started to stir my mana pool. I could feel the mana going from my inner core to the palm of my right hand. It felt like warm mud was going through my nerves.
It was quite slow, I had to practice my mana circulation later. Slowly but surely the warm energy traveled
through my chest, my right shoulder, to my right arm, and then finally, it went to my right hand.
(Shimmer.)
Suddenly, the area in front of me brightened. Slowly, it went from a weak silver light to a brighter, noticeable albeit still weak shine. This technique was called Shimmer. It was a basic tier-0 training magic for beginner Starlight Magic mages.

(Okay... Good. Wait, what the? Im running out of mana already?)
I realized my mana pool was draining quite fast. It was falling down from 121 quite quickly.
I quickly stopped the mana connection. The book did say that Starlight Magic consumed the most total mana out of the other magics. However, I didn't think it was this bad.
(Damnit. It drained that fast?)
Starlight Magic was said to be the hardest of all magics. Not only that it has the highest mana consumption,
the time required to cast the bigger spells were the longest. It seems like learning and the process of casting
it was also hard. However apparently I was talented in Starlight Magic. I had the Starlight Affinity talent.
Spatial Magic was also quite hard, but it wasn't as hard as Starlight Magic. The mana consumption only spiked when trying to move, expand, or manipulate the magic. And also it wasn't even that hard to learn it.
However, again that might be because of my Spatial Affinity.
It is said that not a lot of people learn Starlight Magic. There were even fewer masters. However, the people that did master Starlight Magic were feared throughout the continent. I knew a few, such as 'The Abyssal Creator, Nova Vanquisher', 'Harbinger of Falling Stars, Witch of Star Calamity', and the 'Star Creator, Primordial Dragon of Stardust'. The first one apparently made a 30km wide abyss. To this day, the depth of it is still unknown. The name of it was Zerot's Abyss. The one in the middle was known for mastering the quick-casting of the spell 'Falling Star', a 9th tier magic spell known for its destructive capabilities. This one apparently annihilated an entire kingdom with a total of 100 'Falling Star' spells. The result of it was the absolute obliteration of that entire kingdom's land. To this day many Earth Mage's are still repairing the broken land. The third one, was a dragon. Im not surprised anymore since I've established the fact that this was a fantasy world. Not a lot of information was known about it but... Apparently it had created a 'star'?
I don't know. This book didn't say much about it. Anyways, I wondered why their titles were so weird but it was because they didn't choose their titles, the whole world did. I wonder what it's like to have cringe sounding titles like those.
Anyways, I was quite disappointed. This means that I did not have the required mana. I had to increase my mana pool more. I will have to do more magic training, and read more about Starlight Magic.
