I open groggy eyes my slowly, as i wake up from what happened earlier.
(Ouch! My head hurts... Chains? Why am i here?)
I look at the chains that tied my hands and arms to the wall. These white chains were thin and long, with weird gold and purple detailings over it. I tried to break them off, but they only gave jingling sounds. These things were stronger than they seem... I tried to remember what happened to me after i passed out.
(Ah right... That mysterious young man knocked me unconscious... His strike was so fast i couldn't see it, is
that even possible?)
Remembering the mysterious young man or well, what looked like to be a young teenager he was confused as to why he was knocked out and brought here.
(That weird kid talked about some weird organization, and me blowing up the lake... Clearly a misunderstanding, i need to talk with them. Actually... Where is Arci?)
I took a quick glance at the cell i was in. The bars were about 7 meters infront of me, but due to the chains i couldnt touch them. I could see a corridor infront of the bars. At my right seems to be somekind of metalic
door with... Somekind of weird, glowing purple runes infront of it... What are those things? And it seems like the corridor in front of the cell was being lit by weird cylindrical looking tubes. They looked like just like the light tubes in my memory. Electricity? No, i didnt see any cables connecting to them. How do they light up then?
Anyways, there were no signs of Arci or anyone here.
(Damnit... Did they take him to another room?)
I was getting really worried about Arci. He was the first thing that i could talk to after being dragged in this
body. I really hope hes fine.
*step* *step* *step* *step*
I heard the sounds of boots coming to my cell.
(Is someone coming here to see me?)
I saw a shadow coming closer infront of my cell.
(Who is it?)
What revealed itself after coming to my vision was...
"Oh lucky. It seems like you're already awake. Ready for interrogation, Eye of Truth underling?"
It was that young boy that knocked me out, and a female was also by his side...
"Again, im not part of that organization your talking about. Also, where am i? Where's Arci?"
"Mhm. mhm, we'll see... Oh, is Arci the name of that robot drone companion you have?
And also you didnt even do your homework... Its logical to assume that you would be brought
Advertisement
to the closest military fort in the area right? Welcome to Fort Fain'deruc. After your interrogation
here your sentence will be decided by the "judges" and you will be either be brought to the mines,
face life imprisonment, get cursed or executed. After all, just entering a Sacred Area is grounds for
forced permanent slavery, or even worse."
"W-what?"
"Oooh... That face in your eyes... My my my, you didn't even know about this fort? Then how did you even
enter here in the first place? Kathen'ria is enveloped by a massive legendary-level magical power detection
forbidden spell... Oh well, i'll know after interrogating you. Tere, Mind opening the door?"
"Daiskani."
The female responded by nodding and saying somekind of language i didnt understand... Wait, how did the
girl understand what he was saying... And also how does he know what language i speak???
The female in armor opened my cell door, undid my chains and then...
"Forste."
The girl forcefully put cuffs on my arms again, after that i felt like my whole body was weakened.
My entire body felt weak, like a heavy weight was put on my back. I also felt my energy was draining
to a certain point.
"Oh, these cuffs even work on you... What were your higherups thinking, sending somebody as weak
as you to infiltrate one of the most heavily guarded places in the kingdom..."
I couldn't utter a single word, i couldnt muster enough energy to even speak.
"Oi oi oi... These arent supposed to be this effective on normal people right?
How weak are you actually? Tere, support him please."
"Te, vero domies?"
"Ah dont worry, he isnt faking it... Im very confused as to why those insane bastards sent such a weak
man to infiltrate that Sacred Place. Maybe they've gone a step too far and have finally become psychopaths."
After that, i was brought to a room. I was forcefully put down to a seat by the female, and she again
locked my feet with chains connected to a white table. But after that she opened me free from the handcuffs,
making me regain my strength and energy again. I could now finally speak.
"I said again... Im not part of whatever that Eye of Truth organization is... Also, where is Arci?"
"Mhm, we'll see if thats the truth or you're just lying... And as for that robot drone, we will be keeping it
for further.. Inspections."
My eyes turned wide, i glared at the young boy that was smiling infront of me.
"Ah, its not like we'll do anything to it. Those weird magitech 'professionals' if you could even call them that

are going to attempt to 'inspect' the drone. Those guys claim they're professionals, but they are just as
clueless as iam."
I was speechless. What was this young boy infront of me thinking? Its as if he loves seeing my expressions
of suprise... I hope i'll be able to get Arci back.
"Tere, the magical foci ball please."
The female then handed over him a weird shiny ball on a pedestal of some sorts. It was white, and reflective. The pedestal that was holding it had weird golden markings, they were glowing for some reason.
The young boy infront of me touched the ball with the tip of his fingers, and suddenly a blue screen appeared infront of him.
The young boy had a tinge of curiosity on his face for a split second, then his face turned blank as he
moved his head closer to the screen, and then... He burst.
"pffHahahahahahahahaha!!! Really?! Really?!?! Look at these low statistics!!! Pfffffttt! Look at this Tere! Look at this! He's level 1!! Ahahahaha! What a joke! Look at these stats!??? Are you a toddler?? Oh my
god! 10 strength! 10 endurance! He's a twig! A twig! Pffhahaahahahaahahahaah!"
The young boy laughed as if he just lost it. He kept laughing over and over again like a madman. The young female looked at the blue screen, and then she looked at me with a face of pure confusion as if she was saying 'Why?' i was getting really confused as to why he was laughing so hard...
"Ahahaahaha! *cough* *cough* eh, Ahem... Pfft-"
The young boy immediately covered his mouth before he laughed even more.
"Haaaa- Hooo... Alright, alright. Good! This confirms you are indeed not an Eye of Truth member. My apologies, i knew from the start that you werent a part of them at all... But i had to follow the knightly
protocol."
So this kid, right from the start he knew i wasn't part of that organization?
"Im really sorry, i was just getting really bored from that boring patrol... Once i saw the lights from your drone
i knew i had some fun to play with. Anyways, you are released. And as for the crime of trespassing the
Sacred Area... I'll let you off with my authority of Vice-Commander of the Third Knight Corps, I'll fetch
your little drone companion from those 'professionals'. They probably havent even touched their tools
yet anyways, and are just making theories and speculations about what your drone is able to do."
What? Vice-Commander of the Third Knight Corps? This kid? This kid that looks no older than 15?
Vice Commander? Really? ...Well anyways its good that i was able to avoid a criminal sentence, and
he's even giving Arci back to me. All's well that ands well.
"Haaah, i gotta go tell Commander and Jano about this... Man, a level 1 adult...Such a good joke!"
Level 1? Is it like those leveling systems in games? Then i must be really, really weak... Good thing nothing
really attacked me with the intent to kill.

I remember the status of the man that was shown by the magical foci ball.
(Interesting. Two affinities? Thats rare, and whats more Starlight and Spatial magic are the ones that are the hardest to learn... Interesting. And by the looks of it... That man must have come out of those Unknown Empire ruins that i used to visit right? Aha... So that means, he must be someone that is related to the Unknown Empire. Aaah yes... There's a chance he might also be an otherworlder, although i dont know from which world... I hope the latter is true, because if it is... This might just get more interesting.)
A smile forms on my face after thinking that.
(I might have to file in a vacation request again... But i just came back from vacation a week ago, will that old man accept it? Eh... if he dares to then i'll spread rumours about how he is actually gay and is in a relationship with Jano. Ehe.)
