Chapter Twelve - Two oaths in one day Part 3
"Go ahead, Mr. Riot," Magus Hemingway replied patiently.
"Can you explain inner power to us? In our class literature, 'So you want to be a Magus?', there is an explanation that stresses that inner power is required to learn spell casting." Lucky Riot knew that the mark of the eighth level of the Hardbody Stage was developing internal power and outer force. The external force part, of course, referred to qi being released outside of the body. However, Lucky only knew that inner power was related to magic and that the psyche perception played a significant role.
"A timely question, little boy." Magus Hemingway smiled in appreciation, this boy had read the pre-class literature! This was impressive. In Magus Hemingway's experience, most students would merely skim the literature, and she would have to basically reiterate the volume in detail. She walked to her desk at the front of the classroom and pulled a small scarlet crystal out. Though this crystal was the size of an adult finger, it possessed a strong aura. With a flick, the crystal shot towards Lucky, who easily caught it.
"Thank you, honored magus," Lucky replied nonchalantly. Inwardly he was shocked! When he held this Berserk Plasma crystal fragment in his hand, he could feel potent blood energy contained within. It made his own blood growl in hunger, which was a fascinating sensation for Lucky.
Had he been rewarded for merely asking a good question??
The Magi class was generous, and this motivated him. Didn't this mean that excellent results would yield him extra training resources from this mystical woman?
Magus Hemingway took note of Kasino Riot's facial expression but didn't notice even a trace of curiosity or excitement. She felt a bit disappointed, as to her, this meant that this boy's blood was probably on the ordinary human level. Otherwise, he would have felt overwhelmed by such a gift. If this were the case, Kasino was destined to struggle to achieve great things. She simply couldn't figure out what made her senior apprentice sister take the brat as her direct student, "This is a Berserk Plasma crystal fragment, your reward. See me after class if you need its usage explained, or simply ask your professor."

Magus Hemingway smiled lightly at the class and made nothing of it, "Inner power refers to what is known as ESP. ESP is your unlocked mental awareness of the seen and the unseen. The ability to perceive your own soul and psychic power, or psi. ESP is essential in the use of magic. It can be considered the triggering mechanism for spellcasting."
Lucky's eyes brightened when he heard this. So this was the case.
Magi Class was separated into two sessions like the Warrior class, except there were only an hour in-between sessions. The rest of the first session was spent learning the basics of ESP before they split up into two groups, giving the older students free reign to practice magic, and Magus Hemingway some one-on-seven-time with the new students. This was Lucky's first time seeing one of the new students, a pretty girl with violet hair who appeared to be around 15 years old. She was slim up top but very curvy and athletic. Lucky even found her to be vaguely familiar, although he wasn't sure why. He could also recognize her scent. He felt sure he knew her, but it seemed to be from so very long ago that he couldn't place the memory. This girl would also throw the occasional curious glance his way as if she was peeking on him.
It was clear she also knew him.
"She must not have any interest in warrior class, which is why I've only met her now," Lucky quickly understood the situation, "She's rather pretty, though."
Lucky wasn't sure why he had become so interested in the opposite sex lately when he had never truly cared before. However, after his bloodline awakened, many things about himself had undergone changes. For instance, he had many devious ideas for his new maid. The first night she came, he was in no mood to entertain her due to his scuffle with Bravo. However, tonight would definitely be fun…
"Okay little boys and girls, this is not the place where we play around," Magus Hemingway spoke in a soft but stern voice. "The curriculum is tough, and I expect amazing effort and accomplishments from each and every one of you! Falling below the standard means being ejected from my class. Understood?"

"Yes!" the seven new students said together, even though Lucky just nodded.
"Good! Now then, before assigning individual curriculums for you all, we must first discover your magical affinity," while speaking, Magus Hemming pulled out a cauldron-like device the size of a bike tire out of her little handbag. At this point, Lucky would have to be daft to not realize this handbag was a spatial treasure! Spatial treasures had separate spaces inside that could be used to store items.
Only the high-level persona could have such a treasure, as they were incredibly expensive. Magus Hemingway placed the device on a desk and had the seven new students gather around. "This is a Mysticism Revealed Pot. With this device, we will be able to discern what attributes your mystic energy has a natural affinity with if any. You'll then work to make your mystic origin reflect that attribute."
"Honored Magus, I have a question!" exclaimed the girl with violet hair.
"Ms. Mercy, how may I answer you?" asked Magus Hemingway with a smile.
With this, Lucky finally realized who this child was. Nevara Mercy, Violet Mercy's little sister. She's two years younger than them and should be 14 this year. He had no idea she was even in Thoth Academy, and she had been here this entire time? In the same class, two years behind them, no less? This was clearly arranged by the Mercy Family and the academy personally. Lucky suddenly realized he had been far too naive in regards to Violet's opinion of him. How could Violet not even tell him that her little sister attended the academy as well?
Did he even really know her at all?
"What if we are compatible with more than one attribute?" asked Nevara Mercy innocently. One could tell that she had answered it in her own heart, and she just wanted to confirm it.
"First of all, this is an infrequent occurrence. In truth, most humans do not even have an elemental affinity. However, for youths like yourself with high compatibility with original energy, this is not the case. You possess bodies that can produce high levels of mana…" Magus Hemingway spoke mysteriously in her response, "however, if you truly do possess an affinity with multiple elements, then it is possible to practice more than one. However, this road will definitely be more difficult and dangerous."
"May I go first?" asked Nevara Mercy.
"Come, child. Pinch some blood from your finger into the mouth of the Mysticism Revealed Pot," replied Magus Hemingway. Nevara followed suit, and a drop of her blood fell into the seemingly empty pot. Once inside, a clear liquid rippled and started swirling wonderfully. Violet Mercy couldn't help but glance to that side of the classroom as her little sister was about to have her mysticism revealed. She was naturally the most curious.
The clear liquid suddenly turned milky white and then boiling. A swirl of scarlet flame energy was condensed, followed by a fierce pale green wind energy swirl, as the liquid rotated like a whirlpool.
One layer…
Two layers…
Three layers…
After the fourth layer of waves in the whirlpool formed, the liquid suddenly became utterly still. Seconds later, the water receded until the Mysticism Revealed Pot once again looked as if it was empty.
"Fascinating."
"How pretty!"
"Honored Magus, what do the waves mean?"
"Two! There were truly two elements, right?!"
"Violet, your sister's a badass."
"Two beautiful sisters with dual affinity! It's like a dream."
"Fire and wind…those are both pretty hard to control."
…
The new students and even many of the other students marveled at Nevara's results, throwing compliments at her and her sister. Violet was blushing, but Nevara seemed as if she didn't even hear the voices around her. She stared at the pot lost in thought.
Magus Hemingway didn't hurry to silence the students and spoke after they all naturally turned to her. She had such a massive presence that she simply didn't need to talk, the students would all turn to her as if by instinct. Once they noticed she was waiting, they all fell silent one by one. She spoke unhurriedly, "Ms. Mercy, according to the mysticism revealed pot, you have been blessed with duel Flaming Wind veins and high-level mystic circuits."
