Chapter Ten - Thoth Advanced Academy part 5

"Enough of this," came Lucky's deep voice. Seeing Margot's timid reaction and hearing the way Bravo had just spoken to her, caused Lucky's blood to boil. Regardless of anything, what he knew right now was that seeing Margot Frenzy like this had pissed him off., "Get off it, John. If Margot desires to be mine, she is naturally mine. You have no place to interfere."

"You…" Bravo's eye twitched fiercely, and mystic strength started to rise from his body, causing the air around him to blur a bit.

This punk Lucky dared to claim that his sister belonged to him if he so allowed it? Did he honestly not place their noble status and household in his eyes at all?! This low birth, mediocre brat, with some dog shit lucky chances? Bravo was unable to accept this. In what way was this punk even worthy?

He spoke slowly with anger dripping off his words, "What did you just say to me, Kasino Riot? Do you think that you are some hot shit now that the weakest Magus in the academy is your professor? Or do you think you failed to offend the Guru with your willfulness? Above all else, my family could flatten you and this whole school! Do not test me!"

"Heh," Lucky simply sneered at Bravo's words, his bloodline already heating his body and distorting his thoughts. He used his last bit of sanity to warn this current friend of his, "If you dare to threaten me again, I don't mind showing you the way out."

Capp suddenly stepped in-between them with a stern look on his face, causing the other two to pause as he spoke sagely, "There's something I want you to know. You two are acting like a pair of fuck boys, right now. Aren't we all friends? Maggie likes Lucky, so what? Come on, Bravo, who was it that helped you when those guys came to beat our ass and take Maggie away? We all got flipped and ripped and bounced like a pogo stick. You persisted the longest, but only Kasino was able to turn the tides. Were you able to do anything in the end? Why don't you take a look in the mirror and ask yourself who is really out of line here?"

"Fuck you, Capp," roared Bravo aggressively, "You are always sucking on Kasino's dick one way or another. Fuck both of you pansy-ass punks. Do you think you two are something special? You think..."

As Bravo's words left his mouth, he suddenly lifted his arms to guard. Capp backed his fist with true essence qi as he sent a meteor-like punch straight at Bravo's chest! This punch was fierce and carried a momentum that possessed twice his normal strength!

Collapsing Waves Fist!

Thud.

"Tough!" said Lucky Riot to himself when he saw Bravo eat that punch like a snack. There was no damage, in spite of Bravo only being at the seventh level of the Hard Body Stage just like Capital.

Bravo Frenzy, whose bloodline was now circulating fiercely, quickly blocked the blow! He then lowered his hands as his mystic qi gathered into his palms, and he countered with a powerful palm strike. The palm strike landed square in Capital's chest and sent him crashing into the south wall.

Seeing this, Lucky snapped and moved around Bravo as swift as a snake at three times his average speed!

Surfing Killing Moccasin Step!

Bravo simply couldn't react to Lucky's speed since he had just finished his strike, leaving him wide open. Lucky swiftly shot out six collapsing waves fists containing true essence qi that carried a ferocious might. Lucky's eyes flashed with the light of enlightenment as if he had just comprehended something new.

Seeing this, Bravo felt a bit tortured inside. You could hear his bones breaking as Bravo Frenzy's body buckled at every blow, before crashing straight through the wall of the dorm and out into the courtyard.

Bravo had both an arm and a leg broken, and his nose was disfigured. The walls of this dorm were not of reasonable durability. To toss a man through them required strength at the peak of the Hard Body Stage. He crawled up to his knees, but only managed to vomit blood before collapsing again.

Even his internal organs had suffered some damage from those terrifying blows! Blood trickled down the side of his mouth as he laid there humiliated.

"Jo… Bravo!" Margot almost screamed her brother's real name as she ran over to him, but she realized this commotion had likely drawn attention already. She instantly called out his nickname instead. Once she reached his side, Margot chided Bravo. Merely, her concern was evident in her gaze, "you big dummy, why did you fight him? You know how he is, you shouldn't have tried to bully Capp or me in front of him like that."

"Pah!" Bravo spat, then turned his head and spat again, "Fuck… cough… Fuck him. Fucking common blood pansy. Pah, Pah! Thinks he's special now just 'cuz he reached the seventh level. Wait until I level up again, I'll kick his bony ass!"

"Come say it to my face, little broken kitten," sneered Lucky Riot disdainfully, as he helped Capital out of the broken furniture. Bravo vomited blood due to frustration and resentment. He had never received a beating this bad in his life! Even when facing much stronger opponents, he would be able to protect himself well enough. Kasino had wrecked him! The punk efficiently reduced him to his current sorry state in no time at all. Not only that, but at that time, Bravo was utterly helpless to resist!

He secretly felt a little scared when he remembered the speed and force behind those punches; it was terrifying! It was like sparring against one of his family's elders! Bravo wasn't stupid, he was aware that Kasino held back, or things would be much worse. On the other hand, Bravo himself had been attacking with his full strength from the beginning. At that moment, he felt wholly unconcerned with whether or not he crippled someone. In his anger, he wanted to beat them!

Wasn't the entire purpose of fighting to hurt others?

When he compared Kasino's merciful behavior with his own, it left a sour taste in his mouth. He was a lousy friend and the worst opponent. Bravo felt defeated on every level.

At the same time, he suddenly felt slightly guilty for hitting Capp as well. He couldn't control his impulses in that frenzied state, and he would attack over the smallest grievance! Bravo seemed to realize that he was still far too inexperienced finally.

His lifeblood powers may have awakened, but that didn't mean he had control over it. He hadn't even explained bloodlines to Capp. This was partially due to an oath, but Bravo didn't feel like he still wouldn't tell them if he had never taken a vow.

"Cough, cough. Punk ass, fuck boy," Capital was clearly indignant. If he could activate and control his lifeblood like how these two could, then he would be able to compete with them in that state. Unfortunately, he hadn't yet figured it out. It only happened randomly, where a part of his body would liquify, becoming water.

If Capp knew that Lucky didn't activate his bloodline at all, he would be stunned.

Margot Frenzy sighed in relief after making sure her brother was okay, and her heartfelt warm. Lucky hadn't tried to hurt her brother, injuries like these could be taken care of with a few healing pills or even low-level healing spells. The school nurse would have him fixed by the morning, but Maggie thought it might be beneficial for her to try and heal him herself. It would be a great practice. If she failed, they could still get the nurse to help then, for they were nobles, after all.

"Lucky…" Margot walked back to Lucky's dorm and grabbed his arm, and Lucky looked down into her feral azure eyes, which returned to being humane and gentle under his gaze, "Lucky, did you mean it?"

Lucky Riot and Capp Blacc exchanged a look, and Capital shrugged and walked away.

"This…" Lucky chose his words carefully. On the one hand, he didn't even understand matters of the heart or most feelings in general. On the other hand, he definitely felt something burning within himself when he looked at Maggie.

He was fond of her, and this fondness had been growing deeper lately. But what did that even mean? He felt it was unfair to Maggie to not draw a line between them, in spite of his attraction to her body. After all, as far as Lucky knew, and regardless of anything, he still had a fiancé. Even if he hadn't seen or heard from her in two years, "This matter is not so simple, okay? Let's discuss it properly."

"I don't care about you having another wife!" Maggie tightened her grip on his arm and stared at him with a pleading look, which made Lucky feel like he was her only hope. This made him feel quite puzzled. Is there some situation in their family? Could it be that someone truly intended to marry Maggie off?

He was sure he didn't mistake that look just now, this was a sort of instinct formed by prolonged friendship. While Lucky was thinking, Maggie merely took his silence as an opportunity to say some things that blew Lucky's mind, "My father has four wives. Johnny and I don't even have the same father. It's okay, I won't get in the way of you and Violet or anyone else you fancy. I just… I want to have my place in your heart."

"Well…" Lucky Riot was ultimately not an indecisive person. Since the angelic girl wanted to hop into his lap no matter what, he would naturally not fight her further. After all, he didn't know where Violet and himself stood currently. He couldn't help but be wary, as her behavior was just too strange. Since Lucky's mother had agreed, Violet would be his first official woman anyway. In that case, it was okay if Margot was his first unofficial woman. "Fine. I'm not very good at it… emotional things. Just know that while you may be okay with me having other women, I will not feel the same about you and other men. If you involve yourself with another man, not only will you lose me, but he will also die. This may be selfish of me, but it is my requirement. Also, you will have first to meet my mother before I marry you."

"Yes, yes, one thousand times, yes, I do not want anyone else! In this life, I will be your wife, and your wife only!" said Margot Frenzy passionately as she stared lovingly into his eyes. Lucky felt so stressed, but what could he do now? He had just gotten a second fiancé. Of course, this was only if the Frenzy Family didn't kidnap her and force them apart as Capital had once theorized happened to Violet.

Lucky Riot couldn't wait to see what his mother did when she found out about this one, "Okay, Maggie, can you heal Capp for me?"

"Yes, I'll do it now!" Margot Frenzy was the most willing to do favors for Lucky. She winked at Lucky and sashayed over to Capital. While walking, she pulled out her communication device and sent for a medical team and building maintenance. She would use Capp to train her healing magic, and Bravo would have to go to the nurse.

Maggie suddenly devised new plans for tonight. Kasino dared to offer himself to her? She wouldn't let him escape again. She had gone through so much trouble making her inner beauty stand out, not for the eyes of the world. It was all for that handsome and aloof Kasino Riot, the first boy that didn't treat like anything but the brat she is. Their entire lives, Kasino had mostly ignored her. Maggie didn't know what he had been drinking lately, but she was going to serve him another glass.

Maggie stood in front of Capital and muttered an incantation. A pale white light covered her hand as she placed it lightly on Capital's chest, and Capital felt a warm air current rush through his body as his injuries healed. Capital had to resist the urge to groan in pleasure, as this was now his sworn brother's woman. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of her.

This ability is one of Maggie's exclusive blessings. Unlike Lucky Riot, her spirit power had mutated into Healing Power! She could heal without even using magic.

Two hours later…

"Lucky, I think… Bravo's family should have reactions worse than his own, right? Aren't you worried?" asked Capp Blacc as they cleaned up in Lucky's dorm alone. Margot left to tend to her brother but promised to return in an hour.

"I should be worried?" asked Lucky Riot in a voice that clearly showed he didn't care.

"Dude..." Capital was exasperated, but he explained calmly, "It's been pretty hard on Bravo this year, trying to cover things up for us. If they find out that Maggie went 'abroad' and came back as your mistress, they are sure to disown her murder you!"

"First of all, how many geniuses in the city do you know who can heal with spirit power?" asked Lucky impatiently, as the ethereal eye tattoo opened itself on his glabella, "Her family will simply never disown her. They'll do nearly anything to please her. Secondly, it has truly been a year Capp, but that is only for you all. However, for Maggie and myself, it was merely a few weeks back when she confessed to me. At that time, I was stunned, and I told her to let me consider it."

"Wah!" this news rocked Capital. Such a thing had happened before the blessing that put them in a coma?

"Also, in my heart, it was only a few weeks back that I was at the second level of the Hard Body Stage, mere months away from dropping out of school. I had no hope of maintaining my marriage agreement with Violet, nor even maintaining my friendships with you guys, how could I accept her feelings back then? It simply wasn't worth considering. I just didn't know how to turn her down," said Lucky Riot stoically, before his expression became dignified.

"Now, it seems my luck has truly turned around for the better. I no longer loathe the name Lucky. I think its rather fitting. In my opinion, luck is merely a combination of preparation and opportunity. I ascended to the seventh level of the Hard Body Stage because I had the right mental training exercise prepared when I received an opportunity. The opportunity that came in the form of the original pressure chamber," Lucky suddenly spread his arms open, as if to marvel at his new wingspan, "I was able to trounce Bravo because I took advantage of the precious opportunity to prepare a more solid foundation. I reached the next level under such adversity!"

Capital was stunned when he heard Lucky had reached the seventh level Hard Body today. He realized other than the deans and Bravo he was probably the only one in the entire school who knew about this.

Lucky turned back to look at Capital, "Luck builds on top of luck, whether its bad luck due to a lack of preparation, or good luck due to proper preparation. The way we handle our affairs will directly influence what we encounter next. All I can do is take advantage of every chance to increase my preparation. So that once a rare opportunity arrives, I can snatch it with no worries."

Lucky Riot stopped cleaning and walked out the hole in his wall to look at the starry skies above them, "Is dating an incredible work of art, such as the current Maggie, not a rare opportunity? Have I not fought for it with these, my own hands? Am I not now in a position that makes it more feasible for me to pursue such a woman? Should I yield due to someone claiming their birth is nobler than my own? No! If they say I can not have her, I will make her mine regardless! If they consider me slow, I will outpace them! If they consider me a minor character, I will outgrow them! If they say I am inferior, I will surpass them! Who will stop me then?"

"Yeah…" Capital marveled at the words of his best friend, whom he felt like he had just met. "But what happens when they see your light and try to snuff it out before it becomes too bright."

"Either I die, or they die," Lucky said as the Eye of Horus faded from his forehead.

Kasino had never spoken so much at once before now. Capital didn't even know he was so eloquent when he spoke. He seemed genuinely touched as he responded, "Hey, what did that Royale kid end up scoring on his assessment?"

"Kenny? I don't know, I forgot about this character. Anyway, who cares, dude? Some brilliant score that no one was around to see," shrugged Lucky Riot, his tone calm once more.

Capp Blacc seemed to realize at this moment that he had never truly understood the overbearing nature of his best friend. When Lucky was still weaker then everyone, he was far more reserved. His overbearing attitude only came out when angered, so Capital thought that maybe this wasn't a massive part of his nature.

However, now that same attitude seemed to be ever-present. Lucky' outstanding charisma seemed to draw people into believing each of his words. Lucky's charm was infectious and made Capital feel inexplicably confident in him as his previous words left a substantial impact on Capital that would last throughout his life.

If they say I can not have her, I will make her mine regardless!

If they consider me slow, I will outpace them!

If they consider me a minor character, I will outgrow them!

If they say I am inferior, I will surpass them!

Who will stop me then?
