《Shadow’s World》moives hollywood.

Do anyone know why Hollywood can’t seem to make a good adaptation of books, games, anime, ect.? Can anyone really name a good video game movie? One there is above a 7.0 in the story? Hollywood can’t figure out what makes a good video game. Not only that, but they fail in other mediums. The Netfilx movie Death Note was an awful adaptation. Why couldn’t they make a great manga into a decent movie? We can go down the list of failed movies a different medium that Hollywood fails hard at recreating created that. Heck, they couldn’t recreate a good Ghost in the Shell movie. Yet, they could recreate some scenes shot from shot. What was missing from the story? One is a classic, and the other is a shell of a movie after you finish watching it. You don’t even remember what it's about. Why can’t Hollywood take a successful story and turn it into a movie? The answer to it is very easy. They refuse to understand the story they are adapting. Or they are just bad at a turn it into movie form. Well, or the last reason they don’t understand how to make it appropriated for an American audience. I think games are hard turning it to a movie. Switching mediums are hard and you go from a very personal one to a medium that isn’t as personal. Movies aren’t shown from the viewpoint of the MC all the time like they are in games. Nor do the movie characters act the way you want them to. In video games, the MC is the very personal because they are you. You are the one controlling them. You want to be shoot someone in the head you can control your person to do that. In Movies, the MC doesn’t listen or do what you want. There isn’t a one interaction you have with a movie character like in a video game. When playing halo, your master chef can operate one way and mines another. I play the game alone. I love killing all the other marines and covenant. I don’t play it like speed runners. I play to kill everyone. Halo three was the best game for me because of this. Now, making that into a movie would be hard. That is why there are books to help and expand the character. Without the books Master chef character would be very one dimensional, not only that but in the game he is a slow moving target with a gun attach to it. Not really a good protagonist for a movie. How do we fix this for a movie? You change him like the book did. He is a super soldier that can run 30 MPHs, with an excellent hand to hand combat. A writer will change some things about the story and setting to fit the movie. Make him funner, with Cortana. Have her a chatter box and him a one liner badass. Make the marines more important ect.. But lets move on to Hollywood movies adaptations that are bad and how to fix them. Hollywood doesn’t seem to care about the stories they turn into movies. Hopefully, people understand this. Hollywood cares about money then the source material. We can see this in most movies from them. They don't even try to understand what they are adapting. Let’s look at an easy example Dragon Ball Evolution. Heck, there are so many choices it isn’t even funny. We can look at street fighter the movie, Mario bros movie ect.. The list goes on and on. I will talk about Dragon ball Evolution because the people that should be most disappoint by the movie are my audience. Truth be told, I don’t mind an adaptation not being the same as the source material. Like I said before, a movie is a very different medium than a book or manga. There isn’t an easy to correlate a book to a movie or manga ect, I hope you get the point. My problem is that Hollywood refuses to understand what makes something great when trying to adapt it. Going back to Dragon Ball Evolution what did Hollywood change that anyone can say made a person like or even interested in Dragon Ball? If you showed a random person the movie, why would they watch the anime or read the manga after watching it? Heck lets not even talk about new fans lets talk about old ones. Can any fan of Dragon ball have a thing they like about the Dragon ball Evolution. Any new ideas? Any new characters that they want to bring in to the Dragon ball universe? Anything? No, the reason being Hollywood say Dragon ball was popular refuse to learn why it was popular and made a movie with the only idea being to make lots of money. Well that backfire and it was funny. Now, how do we fix this issue? Give the movie to a fan that understands the medium of movies. I think the two best Dragon Ball movies are Bardock The father of Goku and The History of Trunks. Toriyama heck didn’t write both movies. I don’t think Toriyama like the Bardock movie. In Super he changes Goku backstory. There wasn’t any real need. But that doesn’t matter. People that understood wrote and directed them loved Dragon ball. We got a stupid excuse of a movie. Someone could have made a good Dragon ball movie with a black goku and little to know energy beams but I doubt it would ever get made because Hollywood is stupid and so is the fanbase. That doesn’t mean I think having a black goku would work or not but it seems most people care about the aesthetic. Ladies and gentlemen because of this we got Ghost in the Shell. Hey look Hollywood made a movie that looks like the anime movie. We should give them a prize, good thing no one saw that dumb movie. I was reading one fan reviews off of Rotten tomato and i found a post that fits my point to a tee. Some moron saw that they got the Ghost in the Shell aesthetic right and missed the point of the narrative. They talk about how the major in the animated movie was a body of a favorite model and yet totally forgot that the major in the new move was an original. She was the first successful test. Dude great job of missing your own point. Why, because you only care about the aesthetic. I really don’t mind Johansson as an actress, but I never thought she would be a good major. My interoperation of the original Ghost in the shell was one in which the major was a human being a robot. The major was more of an A.I. than human because that is how she needed to do her job well. Johansson plays a character that ones to be human. Black widow is a train assassin that you would never guess Johansson plays her. If it wasn’t for Johansson looking like the major, she would never have gotten the part in which I say ugh. That is my problem instead of find an actress to fit the role they found someone that looks closely to the major. There is another problem with the movie. Hollywood dumb it down and said nothing of note. For me the original movie was about when does a person becomes more machine than human. In the new movie corporation is bad. What is even worse is they took away her agency. She goes from a woman who becomes a kickass female cop to a person who was a force to become a weapon. She was a test subject that lost her memory. She didn’t sign up for this they gave her no choice. How sad is that? We go from a woman who works hard to become one of the best agents in the world to a test subject that was force into the program. Good job Hollywood. Heck, this shouldn’t be hard to do. I watch the netflix death note movie and once again they didn’t understand what they were doing. I think understand the source material for something like death note it is easy to not only make a good movie but make a movie that can win best picture. Now, I can see why netflix didn’t want to do a one-to-one remake because they couldn’t make a remake of a 108 chapter manga to a single movie. This is fine. Heck, I don’t even care that light personality was change either. I understand trying to make it something a more American audience. My problem with the movie it had no interesting concepts. Now my interpretation of the story was about a person who wanted to become a god. Light wanted the world to see him as a god. He was better than everyone else and only him can make the world into a better place. L and friends were in a disagreement. He was human and there was no way a human should have the power over life and death. Now, compare it to the Netflix movie what was it trying to say or what was interesting about it? Nothing. It was a boring movie about a random kid getting a power that he shouldn’t have and using it in a stupid way. They even had a cool idea going for them in the movie but didn’t use it correctly. Revenge! Think about it. Someone like the punisher with a notebook that can kill people by writing their name inside. Light’s mother gets kill and the criminal walks free. He kills him. Why not keep on that angle? With light going further and further down the darkness of death because of revenge. He not only kills the criminal but the judge, the police, the jury, while killing he gives himself an excuse of why he needs to kill this people. You can change L role from being a detective like character make him light’s friend trying to stop him from going down a dark path. Instead we got that crap. Like I said, I don’t think an adaptation needs to be a 1 to 1 parallel. But I would like it to bring either new ideas or something. A movie about death note should be able the death note and how the characters interact with it. Heck, I would go so far in saying you can make a good movie with light, the death note, nor L in the movie. Yes, making an anime, manga, video game, ect into a movie is easy. I am calling out Hollywood on their laziness. They refuse to care about the source material and make shitty movies. Give me a screenwriter and a director that will listen to me and I Can make a best picture from an anime or manga.
