《Shadow’s World》Understanding

We arrive back at the school before dawn. We land on top of the roof. I ran backside to see if my team was still in the theater. The coldness wasn‘t inside of the room and once I open the door, no one was inside. Someone must have freed them when we were away. Ugh, I wish they were still here. Erica strolled inside the room. She looks around and gives a whistle. “Who do you think freed them? I wonder how piss they are at you?” I ignore her. I left and went to the stadium. They should be here in 10 minutes. Erica and I flew around for a while just in case someone was following us. We arrive at the school a few hours later. I do not understand how my team would respond to how I treated them yesterday. I will wait for them to show up and see how they react. Since I wait, I went to pass the time running. I put weights on my legs and started running. Erica walks through the door 10 mins later, this time she wasn’t alone. The rest of my team was walking behind her. They look hurt rightfully so. Yet, I cannot show any weakness. Wendy was leading the group. She was looking piss off. Well, I hope she will forgive me. My team walks into the field. I ran to the finish line finishing my laps. I went to the equipment and took off the weights. I walk in front of my team and take out the hard drive. “I have gotten what I needed. Lets go to the theater so I can show you what the Elders are hiding.” Wendy walks in front of me and gives me a slap. She turns around and goes inside. I hear two different voices laughing. The spider on my head and Erica. The spider was rolling backwards and toward laughing. I tilt my head trying to cause the spider to fall, but it defies gravity and stay on top of my head. Erica was rolling on the ground, laughing. Ok, I didn’t expect that to happen. Perry walks in front of me and tries a gut punch. I catch his punch and throw one back at him. I hit him in the face causing him to fall on the ground. “Who do you think you are? I am the leader, learn your place.” Jacquelyn yells, “You froze us. Why can’t we get a punch in for revenge like Wendy did?” I roll my eyes and said, ”She is special and the rest of you losers, I don’t like. I am still the dictator. Shall I remind you who is the strongest in the school?” They shake their heads. I lead them to the theater. Erica stops laughing long enough to follow us. We enter the room and Wendy wasn’t there. Erica laughs again. Ugh, I turn around and leave the room. Erica shots behind me. “I could do it little brother.” I ignore her. I walk to Wendy’s room. I hear crying from inside the room. I stood in front of the door thinking about what I should say. I should leave, but I needed to be strong. This was just a crying teammate. I have nothing to worry about. I wasn’t in the wrong, was I? Ugh, being the leader is so hard. I have to overcome this problem. I knock on the door. The crying stops and there was movement inside of the room. It took a second. The noise settles down with a small voice saying, “The door is open, please come in.” I open the door and enter the room. The room was bare beside some stuff animals on top of her bed. I was expecting it to be super pink and girly. It seems my mother movies influence girls' rooms for me. The mother movies portray girls with over the top princessly. They had a lot of pink and frillers everywhere. Yet, this room was very bland. Wendy’s bed had blue covers and around her pillows random stuff animals. Wendy wipes her face. She looks at me with contempt. I do not understand what to do. I think of leaving the room when a spider pokes on the head. "Don’t Leave moron. Say sorry and watch her melt.” What does he mean by watch her melt? Ugh, I really don’t want to trust the spider, but it seems I have no other choice. “Sorry, Wendy, for freezing you.” She gives me a glare. I knew that spider was wrong. She points to the chair at her desk and says, “Sit.” Wow, she is angry. Without a word, I pull the chair from the desk and sit in front of her. She stares in my eyes. I felt guilty and turned my head away. She grabbed my head and moved it in front of her face. “Alexander don’t run away from me. The reason I’m angry is that you aren’t treating us as allies. Not only are we not your allies but we are people you can bully.” I close my eyes. She lets go of my face. “Alexander, did you get the information you wanted?” I nod my head. “Do you think this would convince us about the threat the fairies pose?” I nod my head again. “Then why didn’t you use your words to convince us?” I sigh and replies, “I’m not good at talking with people. Um, I keep to myself most of the time. Erica isn’t the most open person, and she was the only child. I hang around my age when I was growing up.” Wendy nods her head in understanding. Wendy wipes her eyes again. "Alexander, I am the runt of my family. My older brothers and sisters are very talented. I was a huge disappointment. Not only that, but my family only treat us like we were nothing but tools. We always had to complete. My mother and father never gave us any love. They bred us to be part of the Jeonglyeong army. Not only be part of it but become elders. We didn’t have a normal childhood. It was always training and fighting each other. We needed to be part of the machine for glory and honor. I never understood either concept. The only reason I’m at this school is because I was force to go. I never wanted to fight until I met you. You differ from the rest of the Jeonglyeong. I don’t think you are really that war hungry not like the other elders. Not like my parents. You have clear eyes looking into the future. If you had a different life, I could see you try to make peace with the fairies. I saw this the first time we were training. I have been training my entire life and been falling behind people close to me. Yet, instead of getting mad or giving up on me, you help me. You aren’t like the rest of them. But yesterday, you acted like them. Freezing us and leaving. That is something my parents would do. I don’t want you to become like them. Keep yourself pure and don’t become corrupt like the rest of them.” I open my eyes and look direct at her. Her eyes was shining. She was right, mostly. What I did was something Jessie would’ve done. I don’t want to be like him. I gave her a hug. She yelps. I got up and opens the door before I leave the room I say, “You are correct. I wasn’t myself. I won’t lose myself like that again. Follow me, I have a video to show My Team.”
