《Shadow’s World》team

I look at Elder Jessie and smile. He had a confused look on his face, so did Elder Kyle. They both felt the angry before but now it disappeared. Elder Kyle walked up between us and said, “Jessie, leave the kid alone. Look at the results he has brought us. I remember when you were the leader of the school. Yes, the other kids bowed down to you, but Alexander training methods have brought these students to a new level. I agree that he needs to learn to get his subordinates under control but you acknowledge that even you wouldn’t be able to train up these kids like he has.” Elder Jessie glares at Elder Klye. He then snares at Elder Klye and goes back into the room, slamming the door. Elder Kyle sighs. He walks up to me and says, “Go back to train. We will deal with the students, don’t you worry. Everyone here has your back, Alexander.” He pushes me from behind and gives a thumbs up. I wish I didn’t need the elder’s help, but I must make sacrifices. I walk to the training area where my team meets every day. They should arrive an hour from now. I need to think what I will do next. With the Elders help the school fall back under my control, but the students might just see me as a lapdog. Should I care about development? They see me as a pushover and someone that isn’t to be taken seriously. They know I’m just one man and cannot be everywhere at once. They also thing they can get away with stuff because I’m not everywhere at once. I have to change this. I have to figure out a way, in which the students in this school obey me. Once I figure out how to get everyone in this school to obey me, I can move on to the others. I want to pull out all of my hair. Why can’t any facet of my life be easy? I pick up one of the 100 pounds dumbbell and throws it at the school. It shatters Elder Jessie office window. Opps that was an accident. A few people open the windows to see what was the noise about. I wave my hand at the onlookers. The poke their heads and see which window I broke. Once most of the onlookers see the window, the rolls their eyes and go back to what they were doing. What can I say accidents like that happen all the time. The fifth time this month, someone has broken the Elder Jessie window. Breaking his window made me feel a little better. Man waiting for an hour was boring. I try to train for a while but I just wasn’t in the mood. There was no need to break the equipment. I have reel in my angry on objects that didn‘t make me mad. Why should I take my angry out on this that couldn’t move nor speak? It seemed unfair to them. I rather break the legs of something on top of my head instead. The stupid spider has been tapping my head for the past hour. I tried to grab it and throw it on the ground but it dodges all of my attempts. Ugh, I only have to wait a few more minutes into my team arrives, and I ignore the menace on top of my head. Ping my inner timer goes off and the only person walking to the training area is Erica. I walk over to a punching bag and hit the daylights out of it. The bag flies and breaks Elder Jessie other window. What can I say even though I am angry. I still have control over it. “Where is the team, Erica?” She looks around and says, “They are watching a movie together.” This is the first time they openly disobey me. I can feel the rage built up inside of me. Without even knowing I arrive at the little theater that was assigned to us. I look at my team having fun and broke out into a crying fit. I was trying my best to get these guys ready for a war and they are sitting down with each other having a party. Why is everyone against me besides evil Elder Jessie? My parents want to negotiate with the fairies users, and now my team is opening disobeying me. I gave my team breaks and allowed them to have free time. Was I too hard on them? Why won’t they work with me? This isn’t fair. There is a huge threat looming over us and everyone is against me. Waah!!! Erica comes from behind and kicks me in the back, causing me to flip over all the seats. I landed in front of the screen. My team heard me over the movie and looked surprised that I was standing in front of them. They turn their heads away from me and start staring off into space. Well, good they feel guilty but what am I supposed to do with this information? They rather watch a movie than train and should I ask them? I started to pace. Questioning myself on what to do. Roland yells out, “Alexander sorry we forgot about training today how about you relax and watch the movie with us.” Now these guys are lying to my face. There is no way for all 9 of them to forget that we were training to day. I know three of them keep calenders and keep track of everyday events. I wasn’t in the mood for moronic stuff today. I hit Roland with a fireball to the face. He squeals on the ground. Perry looks at Roland with satisfaction. I hit with one as well just because he wanted to act smug. I just have to ask, “Why are you guys skipping training? Am I working you guys too hard? Is it because I am a nice guy? Why are you guys here and not training?” My quietest member stood up and answered, “Because we are strong enough. Alexander, thank you for training us so far, but I and everyone else here don’t see the point in it all. I was the runt of my family. Everyone around used to pick on me, my family, the kids in my neighborhood. I was nothing but a loser and over the past years with your training, I have become strong. Everyone here has improved in leaps and bounds. My father used to beat me just because I was small. Now, he is afraid to be in the same room as me. You have grant us a wish that we could only dream about, but we don’t see the reason we must continue at this pace. The fairy users aren’t that strong. I have seen your strength. There is no way a fairy user can complete against us anymore.” The rest of the group nods their heads. Beside the two people that are lying on the ground.

MARY: The Dreadful
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] "You have to survive, Adam. You have to win." This is not a story starring Mary, because Mary is already dead. She bled out on her front doorstep following a sudden three-day absence. Seven years have passed, with her little brother—Adam—now standing at eighteen years of age. Following his sister's death, he lived the life of a delinquent, wandering the grimy streets of the city of Steeldale. All it amounted to was years of street fighting experience, no proper home and an uncertain future at a second-rate university. Unbeknowst to him, the day before university, he will be thrust from Steeldale into a brand new world. It is a world where a cherry red sky gazes down upon a fragmented continent, on which civilisations from other worlds have been dumped like refuse. The souls of man leak from their fingertips, coalescencing into superhuman powers and horrible fleshy monstrosities. Tribes of refugees clash against each other, attempting to carve out a place in this unrefined space. With no choice, Adam must traverse this dangerous new world, with Mary's shadow following him every step of the way. This is my entry to the April 2021 Writathon. Chapters will be posted as I write them.
