The black dragon is back with the eight fairies once again and they seem to be outside of the shadow’s house. The shadow walks past them and enters his house. His kids are now around our age and had a worry look on their faces. The shadow’s parents holding them tightly in their arms. Their mother was lying on the bed pale and sickly. The wife waves the shadow over; he takes her hand. She uses her other hand to touch the shadow’s face rubbing it. She coughs up blood, and the shadow sat there while the blood hit his face. He gets a drink and tries to give it to her but she doesn’t drink it. She tries to give the shadow back the cup, but it falls out of her hand as her hand drops Shadow’s wife loses the last bit of color. The eight fairies bust into the room and take the children and the shadows’ parents away. The shadow hits the ground and causes a huge crack in the ground.
The room freezes over and darkness creeps in. As the fairies were running away, the darkness spread. The darkness brought ice. The world was turning dark and cold. “Roar!” There were 5 dragons flying toward the house with the shadow. The pure black dragon was in the lead. The black dragon points to the fairies as they are running away. The 4 other dragons nod their heads and fly towards the fairies. They pick them up and put each of the family members on their long snake like bodies. The black dragon entered the darkness and instantly frozen over. The frozen black dragon falls to the ground. Before it hits the ground, the world turns bright. I had to close my eyes and put my arm in front of them. A white flame now covers the dragon. The dragon flies straight at the house. When it is in front of the house, it takes a huge breath and roars. The shadow exits the house with a dead look on his face. With a wave of his hand, the shadow causes the dragon to freeze. The shadow mindlessly walks away from the dragon. Small cracks appear in the ice. Boom! The dragon breaks out of the ice and roars at the shadow. The shadow slowly turned toward the dragon. As the shadow turns toward the dragon, the dragon grows brighter and brighter. Huge white flames covered the dragon. It was burning away all the ice around the house. It was causing the grass to turn to ash. The shadow waves his hand again, but this time nothing happens.

The dragon’s roar causing the ground to shoot out and grabbing the shadow limbs. The earth tries to pull the shadow down into it. The shadow stomps on the ground settling it. The dragon takes in a huge breath and shoots a huge bolt of lightening at the shadow. The earth shoots out from the ground blocking the attack. Boom! Spears made of rocks comes flying out of the dust and flies toward the dragon. The dragon dodges all the attacks and starts flapping his wings. After each flap, tornados forms. The dragon takes a deep breath and fire onto all the tornados. It swings its wings again, causing all the tornados to head toward the shadow. The tornados suck in the dust, showing the shadow once again. The shadow looked at the dragon with pure hate. The shadow jumps through the tornados and punch the dragon. The dragon flies backward. It cash through a mountain. The shadow punch the dragon so hard it flew out of the darkness and caused a small mountain to fall. The other dragon that flew away was flying just above the black dragon. The shadow comes in and punches the dragon again in the face. Wait, the dragon block the attack and punches him into the ground. The dragon puts his hand over the shadow and three different elements surround the shadow. The Earth pins his legs and arms, ice froze all of his limbs, and a ball of water surrounds his entire body. The dragon flies high in the sky, while the shadow is trying to escape his entrapment. The world grows darker. As the area is getting darker, the elements that are holding the shadow in place and get stronger. The dragon roars and the entire area grows dark. Yes, this was the perfect trap. A trap that only the highest tier of fairy can make. The shadow squeezes his hand. The entrapment falls apart and causes a huge shock wave. All the dragon in the sky are push back and one child falls to the ground. The child screams as he falls to the ground and the black dragon drops and saves him.

The black dragon drops to the ground while holding the child. His son saw the shadow lying in the crater and ran toward him crying. The shadow gets up from the crater and looks at the black dragon full of rage. His son runs up to the shadow and starts crying. Begging the shadow to pick him up. The shadow looks down at his son. The shadow falls to his knees, and he gives them a hug as he cries. The other dragon drop and his other son runs to the shadow. The shadow picks both of his children up and walks back to the village. All the villagers got out of his way and the shadow arrived at his house. He put his kids down and looked at his dead wife. He nods his head and takes her into his arms. He beckons his kids to follow him and he walks outside of the village. He stomps his foot and created a hole in which he gently laid down his wife into the ground and then with the wave of his hand cover the hole up again. He takes his kids by the hand and walks back into his house. “I’m sorry about your mate, yes death is a hard thing to take. None one can bring back the dead even with all of your power and mine. The dead are forever dead and there is nothing you or me can do about it. Yet I cannot die I will be here. Your sons cannot live forever no one but us. Come to me I will be your friend forever.”
The shadow looks up at the sky and nodded his head. So even the shadow can’t control life and death. “Oh yeah, I can control life and death. I wasn’t able to before but now I can. But I only bring back people here so they can be my toys. Death is the only thing that is absolute and I refuse to play with that idea. Well, that and also I can careless if I brought back anyone to be anything besides my toys. I didn’t bring back my wife and child because I didn’t want to explain to them what type of monster I am and rather them die thinking I am a good person. Now another time, skip.”
The shadow is now in his 50s looking at his two sons who were standing next to two women from the looks of it they were being married to the two women. The shadow looks thrilled he was standing behind his two sons with his hands on their shoulders. The next scene we see the two sons had many kids while the shadow looks on. We have another time skip this time the two children are grandparents and have died while the shadow looks older but is still alive. The shadow looks down at his children and wife grave. “We are here come there is no reason for you to stay there anymore.” The shadow looks up and called over his now adult grandchild and gives them all hugs and wave goodbye at them. He takes off into the sky crying, leaving his home.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Reeve Williams always felt more at home in vivid virtual reality than in drab real reality, partly as an escape from the very real embarrassment of her technically inept parents, Walter and Wanda. When Reeve’s parents give her a new total-immersion virtual reality system for her birthday, Reeve reluctantly agrees to show them what it’s like…just for a few minutes. But a mistake only her technophobe father would make leaves Reeve facing the prospect of spending months in the greatly accelerated, fantastically complex, brutally unforgiving game world. With her parents. Posts will be every M/W/F. If I ever decide to try to turn Parental Controls into an ebook, I won't do so in such a way that I'd need to take down what I've posted to Royal Road. Thanks for reading!
