Gu Nanyu crouched to pick up the object. To her surprise, it was a student ID card of A University in Beijing.
“Are you from A University?” Gu Nanyu had always assumed that she left school to work at this place.
Yang Jingyue seemed embarrassed and replied uneasily, “I had a disagreement with my family. I am now working part-time to fund my studies.”
Realization dawned on Gu Nanyu. The root cause of Yang Jingyue’s quarrel with her family must have been the scumbag, Ling Hao.
Noticing Yang Jingyue’s anxiety, Gu Nanyu intended to tell her a joke to put her mind at ease.

“Your friend has left with the car. How are you supposed to get home?” asked Yang Jingyue while looking at the moving vehicle.
“He is no friend of mine. I am walking home,” replied Gu Nanyu.
Yang Jingyue looked at her before pointing at one of the bicycles parked beside the cafe and suggested, “I can send you home on my bicycle if you don’t mind.”
Gu Nanyu raised an eyebrow and smiled, “I don’t.”
In the end, Gu Nanyu pedaled the bicycle down the road with Yang Jingyue seated at the back.
Gu Nanyu wore a plaid shirt and a pair of bluish-white jeans, radiating warmth like sunshine.
They had a joyful conversation about the amusing anecdotes in A University throughout the journey.
Fu Beichen was driving slowly so Gu Nanyu overtook him with her bicycle.
Fu Beichen wound down the car window when he noticed her.
